Most Aggressive Dog Breeds

Remember, even if a certain breed is on this list, it does not mean all of that breeds are guaranteed to be aggressive. Personality is often genetic, and for dogs, instinctual. Different breeds bred for different reasons, may have different instincts than each other, which can lead to unwanted aggression. Like the Jack Russel Terrier may be more prone to aggression towards small animals, and even larger animals like dogs or humans than other breeds. This is because they have been bred, and evolved this way, these instincts stick with them, and are sometimes hard to train out if t's unwanted. And then, the German Shepherd is fairly GOOD with animals, mostly livestock, as herding is one of the purposes it was originally bred for. Yet they are more prone to aggression issues towards human, normally strangers, because they were and are often bred as guard dogs and personal protection dogs. So just keep in mind, it is not ALWAYS the owners fault for AGGRESSION, yet it is ALWAYS the owners fault for attacks towards other pets or humans, as that can be prevented by properly insuring the safety and confinement of their dogs.

The Top Ten
1 Chihuahua The Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog and is named after the state of Chihuahua in Mexico. Chihuahuas come in a wide variety of sizes, head shapes, colors, and coat lengths. While they can sometimes be aggressive, Chihuahuas can also be lovable, especially if trained from birth or known from a young age.

They sometimes suffer from 'Small Dog Syndrome' making them prone to yapping, growling, and sometimes even snapping and biting.

Chihuahuas are honestly and obviously one of the most aggressive breeds in the world. They don't often bite people, but they can hurt us in many other ways: Their ear-splitting barks (so annoying), their scratching (hurts so bad). If you don't agree with me, I respect that. But we can all admit that Chihuahuas are some aggressive dogs.

Chihuahua are definitely the dog I hate handling the most, their tiny and fast, and come in two types really friendly and devil dog and you never know which one your dealing with

2 Dachshund The Dachshund is a short-legged, long-bodied, hound-type dog breed with floppy ears, and short fur. Although, this Dog, which comes in a variety of colours, is not hypoallergenic.

These dogs were bred to hunt badgers, so naturally, they are going to be more predisposed to aggression, normally towards small animals and other dogs, but are also known to bite strangers and sometimes even the owners.

3 Chow Chow The Chow Chow is a dog breed originally from northern China, where it is referred to as Songshi Quan, which means "puffy-lion dog".

These dogs are naturally aggressive towards dogs of the same sex, and may be aggressive towards small dogs, cats, and other animals. They are protective and territorial, which may also lead to aggression towards strangers and over a toy or food.

Don't let their fluffy looks fool you. They are way more aggressive and more likely to attack than some Pitbulls, just look at them. They look cute and fluffy on the outside, but cruel and evil on the inside. I do not give an absolute crap if "doggists" come to attack me, I stand by my opinion.

4 Doberman Pinscher The Doberman Pinscher, or Dobermann, or Doberman, is a medium-large breed of domestic dog originally developed around 1890 by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, a tax collector from Germany.

These dogs were bred by a German tax collector to protect him on his rounds, they are naturally protective and tough dogs. They were and are still bred for guarding and protection.

Doberman Pinscher are actually really sweet and silly dogs, their often thought to be aggressive because of the reputation, of course if the dog was treated badly or trained by the owner to attack unless told otherwise then you definitely don't want to mess with them

Very protective of their owners, but are slender and look freakish.

Good guard dogs.

5 Dalmatian The Dalmatian is a breed of large dog, noted for its unique black or liver spotted coat and mainly used as a carriage dog in its early days.

They are prone to aggression towards people, even though they are normally a sensitive breed. They need plenty of exercise, as aggression is often a effect of boredom are neuroticism in these breeds.

Incapable of learning basic commands, are quick to aggression against strangers, are over-hyper, too neurotic, and sometimes kill other dogs. Do NOT buy a Dalmation in your own risk, unless you want a trouble pile of sheesh.

6 Rottweiler The Rottweiler is a breed of domestic dog, regarded as medium-to-large or large. The dogs were known in German as Rottweiler Metzgerhund, meaning Rottweil butchers' dogs, because one of their uses was to herd livestock and pull carts laden with butchered meat to market.

They are naturally territorial and protective dogs, leading them to be prone to aggression towards dogs of the same sex and strangers. They may often be aggressive towards small animals such as cats, but that is rare since they are sometimes bred and used as droving dogs.

Make sure to bring some Dog pepper spray when handling these bad boys.

Always cautious when dealling with rottweilers

7 American Pit Bull The American Pit Bull Terrier is a dog breed. It is a medium-sized, solidly-built, short-haired dog whose early ancestors came from the British Isles.

Like most terriers, they are often prone to aggression towards animals, dogs, and sometimes even humans. These were originally bred as a bull baiting and fighting dog, hence the name 'Pit Bull.' They are often very prey driven, and aggression is not always easy to prevent.

These things will KILL YOU. It will lock jaw on a vital organ and shake and hold until it's prey is dead. the only way to get it off is to kill the dog itself.

People defend this breed, and I get it
But people need to accept the fact they can be dangerous.

They should not be on the list because we don’t treat them well so they get mad they aren’t mean

8 Jack Russel Terrier

They were originally bred, and still are often bred and used to hunt animals, such as rats, mice, but originally, foxes. This can make them more prone to aggression towards small animals, cats, and often other dogs and sometimes even people. Once again, aggression towards people is often caused by lack of companionship and exercise.

9 German Shepherd The German Shepherd is a breed of medium to large-sized working dog that originated in Germany. The breed's officially recognized name is German Shepherd Dog in the English language. The breed is known as the Alsatian in Britain and Ireland.

As I've already gone over them in the description, they were and are often bred as guarding and personal protection dogs, which makes them more prone to aggression towards strangers, as they are very loyal and protective of their owners.

Cautious when dealing with these dogs as well when they feel threatened you don't want to be touching them

The least aggressive breed in this list

10 Siberian Husky The Siberian Husky is a medium size, dense-coat working dog breed that originated in north-eastern Siberia.

Just like the Dalmatian, this beautiful breeds aggression is often caused by lack of exercise, which leads to boredom, which leads to neuroticism, which if not taken care of and prevented quickly, can lead to destructive behavior, often towards household items, other animals like cats and dogs, and sometimes humans.
