Most Overrated Cartoons

The Top Ten
1 My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is an animated children's television series based on the fourth incarnation of Hasbro's My Little Pony franchise. The show follows a studious unicorn (later an alicorn) pony named Twilight Sparkle (Tara Strong) and her friends Applejack (Ashleigh Ball), Rarity (Tabitha more.

My god, people... stop judging a show by the occasionally sick/perverted fanbase (which is actually only a minority) and judge it by the show itself. I bet the majority of people complaining have never actually tried to watch the show. It's most certainly NOT only intended for little girls, for proof just look at all the references... there's a scene in one episode that parodies I Love Lucy, which the majority of young people today have never even heard of. There's a side character who parodies Indiana Jones and a villain/anti-hero who is essentially a cartoon version of Q from Star Trek (even with the same actor! ).

I have actually seen quite an abundance of animation errors in MLP, so let's skip over that. The morals are usually well-executed throughout the plotline of the episode. Sometimes, though, I wish the characters would show more, rather than tell us the lesson, if that makes sense. Aside from that, I agree that the fandom can be a bit... much. Honestly, I would just ignore those creepily extreme bronies and enjoy the aspects of the fandom that are safe and creative. The characters, I agree, are not always the most likeable (though Twilight will always be my favorite, no matter what). Still, don't allow an annoying fandom to turn you off from a good show or make you believe that it's overrated. I didn't let the god-awful Billdip shipping stop me from enjoying Sock Opera (Gravity Falls). In fact, I was pretty surprised to see MLP as #1 on this list- I was mainly expecting SpongeBob to be honest. Overall, I don't think this show is that overrated, or at least not anymore (though I have ...more

I still don't understand why grown men watch this crap (not because its for girls) it's because there is nothing special about it, the characters are annoying and uninteresting, the setting is a generic cliched fantasy land, the background ponies are even more annoying, the plots are weak, I hate the songs. Etc. I guess people like it because they have nothing else to do or maybe people like bright animation but one thing is for sure Indian shows are way more overrated.

The show is bad, the plot is totally random, the characters are idiots, and worst of all, the fandom that will cause cancer. Forget the Sonic fandom. THIS is nightmare fuel. They take the terrifying things in the Sonic fandom and multiply it by 20. I mean, in the fandom, you either love mlp and worship it, or you hate it and wish it would die once and for all. I have a cousin who's a brony and a crazy fan, and he shows us his oc's, tells us random trivia, and rants about the characters. Her younger sister and I have no idea what he's talking about, but it doesn't sound too.

2 SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator the late Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. SpongeBob is currently the most popular show on Nickelodeon, as well as the longest running show, running for 20 years, and is beginning its 13th season. more.

I see this in number 1 in practically all of the top cartoon lists and whilst it's a good cartoon I feel like people are only giving it so much praise because it's probably the most iconic cartoon ever and not because it's the best cartoon ever.

So, what do I have against SpongeBob SquarePants?

Well, the seven main characters bear the seven deadly sins. (True theory)

SpongeBob - Lust (being friendly to anyone who doesn't care)
Patrick - Sloth (very lazy)
Gary - Gluttony (eats most of the time)
Squidward - Wrath (always angry to the world including SpongeBob)
Sandy - Pride (always proud about Texas)
Mr. Krabs - Greed (cares nothing for the world except money and also my most hated character
Plankton - Envy (always jealous about Mr. Krabs business. I feel a little bit bad for him. )

The Plot doesn't make any sense as well. Now my childhood's ruined because of THIS! Please get this show out of my face!

As much as I loved this show growing up, this is SEVERELY overrated. Especially knowing SpongeBob's current state, with its good-bad episode ratio being not-so-good due to Nickelodeon milking the show. It's getting hard for me to at least check out the newer episodes because of the overabundance of mediocre/uninteresting episodes and the worsening of every character (except Gary, Plankton, and maybe Karen). I downright disagree with everyone who said that Squidward didn't worsen because of episodes like Little Yellow Book.
However, it's simply a hyperbole for me to say that all/most of the post-movie/post-sequel episodes (the ones I've seen, at least) were "god-awful"; there had been some really good/memorable episodes, such as Krusty Towers, Squid Noir, Mimic Madness, Planet of the Jellyfish, and Gary in Love. However, some, if not most, had been overshadowed by the worst episodes, like One Coarse Meal and Ink Lemonade, which contributes to people's extremely heavy hatred towards ...more

God, this show is so GOD DAMN overrated! I love it, but what ticks me off is that I barely ever get to watch shows like Arthur or Martha Speaks anymore, or shows I used to watch as a kid, live action or sitcom. We had many choices of a TV show to watch over the lock down. NO! Instead it's "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea!" Every single DAY! Yes, SpongeBob SquarePants, Jesus Christ we get it already! SpongeBob lives in a pineapple, were quite aware of that! I'm happy that it's popular, it's a great show. But people seem to constantly ignore other shows that are just as good. I can think of a lot of good shows I used to watch as a kid and still watch, Veggietales, and till today I still love every single episode, Electric Company this one show from 2007, The Saddle Club, and if you don't know what this show is, IShine Knect: Oh my GOSH I LOVE that show, Arthur, Martha Speaks, etc., etc. But NO! There are tons of of good shows to watch, instead they keep shoving SpongeBob in my ...more

3 Family Guy Family Guy Family Guy is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a family consisting of parents Peter (Fat, Idiotic Dad) and Lois (Nagging Bitchy Wife), their children Meg (Socially Awkward Daughter) Chris (Fat, Idiotic more.

One of the most atrocious cartoons to be on television, yet it is somehow the most popular. People praise it for being "funny," but most of the humor is just stupid beyond comprehension. For example, a spitball in class being a horse that demolishes the room. Hilarious *sarcasm*. On top of that, the only remotely funny jokes or cutaways are stolen from famous movies. The rehash jokes from Airplane, The Naked Gun, Dazed and Confused, Wayne's World, and Many, MANY more! The show has horrible morals as well, and almost never has a good message to the audience. Like most shows, Family Guy also got much worse with age. Every characters antics were blown out of proportion and therefore less likable than they already were. The show attacks religion, which I am okay with; but it always does it in a cheap, distasteful, and unfunny level. Seth MacFarlane is just another persistent liberal getting his agenda across. Do yourself a favor: forget Family Guy and watch South Park, a show that is ...more

Why in the world is Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Animaniacs, and Tom and Jerry above this show? Those shows are fantastic. Family Guy, on the other hand, is filled with stupid cutaway gags, gross humor, and preachyness from Seth MacFarlane. All of the characters on the show are unlikeable (especially Brian! ) and stereotypes of sitcom characters. Some moments on this show like the 3 minute Conway Twitty cutaway gag and the scene with the raccoon chewing on Stewie's brain are unbearable to watch. If you like pure randomness with a paper-thin plot, bland characters, liberal lecturing, and jokes that run for way too long, this is the show for you.

The only reason I chose this show is because one time I someone said there was something wrong with me for liking The Simpsons more than this. This show is very funny, but it isn't that great on almost every other level. The characters are either forgettable or unlikable, the story's are lazy, and the pacing is rarely good (usually it is either sporadic or just stops) and that was when it was at its best. Nowadays it is one of the least likable shows on T.V. , with easy to hate characters, offensive and manipulative stories and occasionally horrible morals, but even when it was decent it was overrated.

This show has gone to utter trash. Its gone from having pretty good characters and stories to becoming nothing but a concentrated mass of Seth MacFarlane's bitterness over the fact that he can't win an Emmy. All of the characters are asss to one another, there's way too many boring and unfunny cutaway gags, and the only reason that it's still airing is because it continues to be the subject of controversy due to the idiotic plots it continues to use.

4 Adventure Time Adventure Time Adventure Time is an American animated television series created by Pendleton Ward for Cartoon Network. The series follows the adventures of a boy named Finn (voiced by Jeremy Shada) and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake (voiced by John DiMaggio)—a dog with the magical power to change shape more.

This show just fails on so many levels.

The humour is disgusting, stupid random and shows no sign of wit. I wouldn't mind it if it was just stupid, because I enjoy stupid humour. But due to the other flaws, the comedy in this show just doesn't work. I WILL admit however that Jake does have a few good lines.

The fantasy element I absolutely despise. It's imaginative, but there's no thought or originality put in there. Every place having a princess, the typical evil king that wants to capture them. The setting obviously had no work put into it. Dungeons and other things of the Fantasy sort.

Look, I give this show kudos for being successful at being random, which was its goal, but it's just not as good as everyone paints it out to be. It's not the funniest show ever, nor is it a masterpiece. It's just one of the bad cartoons that CN has taken to playing on their once great channel.

And don't say that it's just not aimed at people like me. This show should ...more

Cartoons have lost their touch. They used up all the good ideas with Scooby Doo, Simpsons, Looney Tunes and SpongeBob. Now they think they can act like complete idiots with very annoying sounds. I believe that is all they are doing in Sanjay & Craig, Adventure Time and Regular Show. These shows annoy the hell out of me and I want to smash my head on the toaster. Even Dora, My Little Pony, Ed Edd and Eddy, Family Guy and Breadwinners are better than that. And those are also bad shows. They seem to want to shake butts all the time. What message is this to kids? I am sick to death with it. Some people don't learn when to stop. Simpsons lost its Magic, Family Guy has become disgusting, SpongeBob hasn't made a hit episode for years and Ben 10 is still going? What!

I know this show has a colossal fan base and if your one of those people that loves it that's great! I'm not saying I hate Adventure Time nor do I like it, it's an okay cartoon in my eyes. I find that the show tries too hard to be funny at times and the storylines are lame as math. That doesn't mean it's bad though. The animation is great and I do love how much imagination there is put into this cartoon. Not to mention they've got really good voice talents like Tom Kenny from SpongeBob. But overall Adventure Time is a cartoon not bad just not as good as most people say it is. I do however get annoyed when fans threaten to bully those who have negative opinions of the show. Really? That's just plain cruel and mean spirited.

It was fun at first seeing how there was more going on in the show than what was apparent, like the backstory and some internal struggles with the characters,
But then the internet showed me the fan base, and they all really blew this show out of proportion.

Not only that but the show itself took a nosedive in quality once they made romance and drama a regular part of the show. Also parts of it got way too sappy for a comedy.

I get its going for a heartwarming scene sometimes but come on.

And sometimes the fandom can be pretty annoying. Like how they demand even more romance to be forced into it, and how crazy they go about Finn's age.
"I can totes relate with Finn, he's 15 now, he ages in real time just like MEE! No show evur done that b4"

5 Steven Universe Steven Universe Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. The show's based around a young boy by the name of Steven Universe, who is a hybrid of a gem and a human. He lives with his gem friends, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl.

The fandom is REALLY dumb and SJW, like there are a bunch of whitewashing issues involving 4chan, most communities would just not feed the trolls but the SU community gave them the attention they wanted. There's no such thing as bad publicity is not a good motto for that situation.
They even tried to give false reviews to a real Keystone motel and even drove a person to Suicide.
There's a reason why this show hardly airs on CN anymore and is banished to CN's social media and HBO Max. It's because of the fanbase that the show often is looked at funny.

Honestly, it's sad how people are simply turned off from a show based on its fandom. Those people should formulate their opinions and actually watch the show. Steven Universe should not be judged based on bullies who were fans of it. Yes, they did a terrible thing to that poor girl, but their behavior in no way whatsoever relates to the show itself nor the messages it sends out to the audience. In no way does Steven Universe encourage such awful behavior, but you have to understand that there are extremists that exist in every fandom that simply must be ignored. As for those of you who have seen Steven Universe and disliked it- let me make this clear: SU is a coming-of-age cartoon; as in, Steven CHANGES. He may seem like a silly little boy at first (who cares about his weight though? ) but in the recent episodes he is a totally lovable and mature character. If you can't handle the first few episodes (which are mainly experimental) then you don't really deserve to see Steven Universe ...more

I watched the first 3 episodes and I was immediately turned off by Steven, in short terms, he's a fat, annoying brat with a pig nose, a mouth that won't shut up, a Brillo haircut, and a pair of celestial guardians (fairy godparents? ) Either way I don't like the way he looks, the way he talks, or his orientation in the series. The crystal gems are charming enough where I can almost forgive the series, but the sentient refrigerator with the special Diamond in his Belly button (seriously, of all the places they could have chosen? ) will have to wait for me to ignore him enough to get a fresh start on this series.

Receives more praise than shows like a Gravity Falls and Star vs. the Forces of Evil, but honestly, it doesn't deserve it. Sure, I agree that it was nice for them to have a range of diversity and homosexual relationships, but that seems to be the only reason why people appreciate it. They give off emotion through nothing but sheer tears and musical numbers, and it's been done so much that it has become forced. The show is pretty solid and I will not deny, is good at teaching some very valuable lessons, but honestly, it's not a 10/10 show and is most definitely overrated.

6 Phineas and Ferb Phineas and Ferb Phineas and Ferb is an American animated comedy-musical television series. Originally broadcast as a one-episode preview on August 17, 2007 and again previewed on September 28, 2007, the series officially premiered on February 1, 2008 and ended on June 12, 2015 on Disney Channel, and follows Phineas more.

This show is pretty much an overlay that tries to cover the rest of Disney Channel's unwatchable programming. And even then, it's still a very hard show to watch. I made a 2 page review on the show already on another blog, so here's a short summary.

The voice acting is annoying, the plot is monotonous, there are way too many songs, the characters are 1/2 dimensional, the designs are offputting, and it's EVERYWHERE!

It's the exact same thing every episode!
Boys have idea to build something.
Big sister tries to tell mom and dad
Perry goes and beats up weird guy.
Big sister fails and Perry comes back!
Also, the mother comes back with something she made like cookies or something.
Just a copy of Dexter's laboratory!

The plot line is always overused. The animation is ugly and the humor is so blind that it makes Its Pat get 1,000,000 awards! The characters are the worse part of this show. They are way to cliche and don't have any emotion EVER!

I never really enjoyed this show much. I just thought the concept was a bit cliche and the jokes were also. Some episodes were good some were just bland. I just don't know why people like this cartoon so much.

7 Pokemon Pokemon Pokémon, abbreviated from the Japanese title of Pocket Monsters and currently advertised in English as Pokémon: The Series, is a Japanese anime television series, which has been adapted for the international television markets. It was first broadcast in Japan on April 1, 1997, in the United States more.

Alright, I really, really, REALLY, love Pokemon. Both the games and the anime... but... it's just so OVERRATED! But, yet again, it's so hard to hate due to it's creativeness, cuteness, and awesomeness... but it's all my opinion. I'm just kind of sick of hearing it everywhere over and over again. And about the anime, I like the anime but not as much as the games. There's just WAY too many seasons based on the games, when I feel like they should've put them all together. Some of the characters are quite annoying (Bonnie from XY&Z was the most annoying.). However, Ash and his Pikachu had unforgettable moments that made everyone love the anime, even the villains Team Rocket (Jessie, James, Meowth and Wobbuffet) are very likeable. I haven't watched the comics/manga, but I've heard they're good. I can't say much about the games since there is so much to talk about it. Really, Pokemon isn't a bad game, show, or comic, it's just plain overrated.

Pokémon is my favorite video game franchise, and one of the only T.V. shows I watch. But I can admit that this is a boring show. Pikachu can be annoying at times, his power is inconsistent, although he usually is a likeable character, and Ash makes the same mistakes, I feel Serena is in the anime just so people shut up about Ash not having a girlfriend even though he's only TEN. It's also the same plot every time, get 8 badges, and lose the Pokemon league. The only reason I watch the show is to watch the interactions between the Pokémon, and that kind of thing. Before you say if they had a different plot, it wouldn't be like Pokemon, I just mean add an actual story to it, along with him getting gym badges. I haven't seen XY but I heard it's decent, but each time I watch it, I find Ash and the gang annoying, so I can't watch it.

Another thing is Ash has EVERYTHING. He has the most powerful Pikachu, he meets talking Pokemon, and meets every legendary Pokemon, and then never ...more

The series doesn't change. Ash is still a kid and prefers to catch weak, cute Pokemon over strong large ones. He still doesn't catch psychic and ghost Pokemon and the new rivals are total spoiled brats. The new Pokemon have really stupid designs.

Why are they still making these spin-offs with different names in the Pokemon series? Also, why is Ash still a kid who hasn't aged into an adult? This show is getting boring and boring every single time! Arrghh!

8 The Loud House The Loud House The Loud House is an American animated television series created by Chris Savino for Nickelodeon. The series revolves around the chaotic suburban everyday life of a boy named Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters, to which he survives as the middle child and only son in a large family of eleven children. more.

Yeah! It is so bad! And here's 3 reasons why I hate it : 3. Boring characters : yeah the characters are so boring because all the characters are humans if not all characters were humans they won't be so boring but ALL the cha racters are humans! Oh come on! Did this shows creator wanted to create the world where only living organisms are humans? 2. Bad background art : yeah 3 words : bad. Background. Art. Worst background art one cartoon can have 1: boring plot : ok maybe plot of some episodes isn't boring but plot of the show itself is very boring its just about a boy with 10 sisters : sounds boring, right? (And sorry if my comment was too long because I'm going to end it right now)

How could this show have possibly overshadowed Harvey Beaks and post-sequel SpongeBob? It doesn't make any sense to me. In my opinion, the show is highly formulaic and the humor is very weak, compared to the 2 shows I mentioned. They say this show saved the network but how has Nickelodeon been saved when they are still:

- Cancelling their cartoons for not matching SpongeBob and this show in the ratings (just look at how they treated C.H. Greenblatt, creator of Harvey Beaks)

- Overrelying on their poorly-recieved sitcoms, SpongeBob, and The Loud House (and also Jojo Siwa now)

- Still trying to be hip with the kids (The Dude Perfect Show, for example) and more...

Yes, Nickelodeon has improved somewhat but not a whole lot has changed and if anything, my first point was actually made worse by The Loud House. Nickelodeon now believes that as long as they overpromote a show and give it a late afternoon premiere week, like they did with The Loud House, it will ...more

Loud House gets overrated that fast after one season. But I don't mind with the humors and the animation nor the characters but this show is very enjoyable next to Spongbob but the problem is that something really made someone gets interested: Clyde's parents.
Also, the show saved Nick's life and gets a big kick to return to the Nicktoon's era. Bam!

I'm pretty sure that this show was more heoric after some two shows after Fanboy and Chum Chum (Sanjay and Craig and Breadwinners) got killed in the year 2016.

And don't mind that the list is full of haters everywhere even in old shows

I like this show. It's not incredible or anything, but it's a pretty well-written show with even a few decent morals for younger viewers.

The gay couple doesn't really bother me to be honest, they don't really rub in your face the fact that there's a gay couple and they're secondary characters anyway.

9 The Simpsons The Simpsons The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening that originally started on April 19, 1987 as shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show. It got its own series on December 17, 1989 and is still running as of 2022, making it the longest running animated sitcom. It is about a man named Homer more.

The show was certainly good in its prime but compared to other shows like South Park, Family Guy or Beavis and Butthead, the show can be really tame & very mundane at times, I don't know why The Simpsons is ranked above classic Looney Tunes or any golden age cartoons since it stopped being good for 2 decades now.

This show was never even that great to begin with. Nearly no funny or memorable moments from any season, even in its "golden age" (1987-2005). Now it's low tier liberal propaganda garbage with too many guest stars and celebrities which is even worse. The plots are always predictable and dragged out. Everyone always says this show is the best cartoon ever made but it's not. Probably one of the worst. It needs to be at #1 on this list and this sad excuse for a show needs to die.

Lost its magic after Season 25 the jokes aren't funny and they are trying to make it a drama show with serious season premieres. I miss the days where Homer would sit down on the couch drinking Duff and watching a T.V. show like Itchy and Scratchy. What happened to Itchy and Scratchy?

I can say that it is one of the worst shows from Season 26 onwards. But the real Simpsons ended in Season 12.

I don't hate it but I just couldn't get into this show, I don't hate it, it just never appealed to me. I really wanted to like it but I found myself bored and kept a straight face while watching what are considered to be the best episodes of this show.

10 Gravity Falls Gravity Falls Gravity Falls is an American animated television series produced by Disney Television Animation that first aired on Disney Channel, and then on Disney XD from June 15, 2012 to February 15, 2016. The series follows the adventures of Dipper Pines and his twin sister Mabel in the fictional town of Gravity more.

Honestly, this show is overrated in the sense that it's only "good" as opposed to being "perfect" or "amazing". Any plot arc not involving Stanley, Stanford or Bill Cipher is predictable outside the super-creative concepts. And Mabel. Mabel Pines is not charming, funny or cute. She is obnoxious, annoying and clearly quite full of herself. She reminds of Papyrus from Undertale, except all the hammy charm has been replaced with the brand of tongue-in-cheek obnoxiousness that people thinks is cute for some reason.
It's the main reason I consider "Irrational Treasure" and "The Last Mabelcorn" to be the worst episodes of the series. They waste their time trying to shove Mabel's character down our throat, insisting that she is a good character. I honestly found it rather insulting.

Everyone loves this show a lot. But every episode can live up to the theme song.

Most episodes are standards with something supernatural forced in it. Dipper and Mabel could have given Stan advice for mayor. But oh wait, this is Gravity Falls, so have a tie mind-control him, or else it's not a real Gravity Falls episode. Now, everyone can be so happy about all the super interesting supernatural stuff in the show!

I know I will get thumbs down for this but what the hell. I mean, yeah the fan base can get out of hand. But this show itself is outstanding. I bet half thd people here or more have only seen the first couple episodes or commercials. It's so amazing, mysterious, and is my most favorite show of all time! I'm still upset that it ended. You can hate it if you want, that's fine, it's your opinion.

Stupid bland and a bad influence. Plus like every Disney show it: 1. Involves 2 siblings either during summer or at high school 2. Has a fat guy to make kids laugh 3. Main character #1 has a crush but so does another person. 4. Random things happen to character #2 like rainbow puppy candy land 5. It all works out in the end. What happened to you Disney?

The Contenders
11 Ed, Edd n Eddy Ed, Edd n Eddy Ed, Edd n Eddy is a Canadian-American animated comedy television series created by Danny Antonucci for Cartoon Network, and the sixth of the network's Cartoon Cartoons. The series revolves around three preteen boys: Ed, Edd "Double D," and Eddy—collectively known as "the Eds"—who live in a suburban more.

This show was great but some vicious haters said that the show has character designs are ugly, disgusting animation, annoying characters, and some negative opinions.

Those who hate the show probably watched Brothers Grunt. What is Brothers Grunt?

It's a show that aired on MTV and it's one of Danny Antonucci's bad work before creating a masterpiece called Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

Brothers Grunt is really a horrendous, God-Know-It-All, disgusting, Chutulu-sized cartoon show that is really hard to watch. The character designs are so ugly, terrible animation, the characters are annoying, terrible writing, and so on. This Brothers Grunt does'nt deserved to be on air but I'm glad this beast was slayed by a sword (or cancelled for short).

Ed, Edd, and Eddy is one of the best cartoon shows of all time and the sixth CN show to be produced (and a last cartoon that is made with cel animation before that digital ink and paint existed). This show has great humor, great ...more

This show is seriously so overrated and does NOT deserve to be cartoon's network's number 1 show. While theirs amazing masterpieces like The amazing world of Gumball and Steven Universe I see this garbage as number 1 show in Cartoon Network. And if any of you haters reply "Ugh I bet you've never even seen an episode", your wrong! I've seen over 10 episodes and even a bit of season 2 and I still don't get why people think this is brilliant. Sure it has some funny humour and relatable moments but 1. The animation is horribly ugly and a bit bizarre 2. The main characters are stupid, selfish, mean, weak and plain dumb 3. I HATE AND I MEAN HATE the Kanker sisters. There disgusting, dumb, ugly and INSANE! They have no purpose in the show except trying to kidnap and kiss the eds which is gross and not entertaining. 4. Other than the actual funny humour the other humour is gross and mostly about underwear. 5. WHAT IS THE PLOT HERE? The eds trying to trick money off people to buy a couple of ...more

It's not awful, but SURELY not good. It's characters are boring and one dimensional. The animation is meh. SOME of the jokes are ok at best. Surely not even close to cartoon network's top ten best. It's ok, it's overrated, but it's about a 7/10 cartoon. I don't recommend it, but I know a lot of people like it and I always looked at as a, in my words, " a passable distraction, but not much structure and not as good as everyone thinks it is." I consider the #7 overrated cartoon of all time as it's technically not terrible

Should be easy number 1. Not even close to the best CN show, with Steven universe, adventure time, johnny bravo, amazing world of gum ball, REALLY THIS IS THE BEST ONE? From the genius behind brothers grunt, this was to be remembered? This show sucks so bad. 1. Animation sucks 2. Stupid plots and no writing at all. It's all just about how to annoy others and get jawbreakers 3. Annoying voices that grate on my nerves 4. Lame jokes 5. The characters are very unlikable. Maybe accept for double d but he's always being manipulated by eddy. And the side characters are all one dimensional. So this cartoon is by far the most overrated cartoon I've ever seen, even more overrated than scooby doo

12 Ben 10 Ben 10 Ben 10 is a media franchise created by Man of Action Studios and produced by Cartoon Network Studios. The franchise revolves around a boy named Ben Tennyson who acquires a watch-like alien device, the Omnitrix, which allows him to transform into ten different alien creatures.

I hate all the Ben 10 shows. This pointless series will wash children's brains. It's all about this selfish clumsy lazy cocky spoiled kid, Ben who found a magic watch that transforms him in different aliens that fight with other aliens. Then, he became a hero and everyone began to treat him like a god. Not fair! He was just lucky to find the watch. This doesn't make him a hero. Anyone else could find it and become a hero too.
There are many problems with the show : the jokes are corny, th voice acting is bad, all the characters are unlikable, there's no pleasant character anywhere, the art-style is too dark, etc.
This show needs to disappear.

This is a shallow, boring, action show. The plots have always been weak, and the characters unlikable. I have only known one person over the age of 10 who possibly liked this show, and I'm no longer friends with them - as they are extraordinarily immature. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this show at all costs.

Well, let's look what they did wrong:

1. Names of the aliens Ben transforms into are stupid. (ex. Way Big, Fourarms) Seriously?
2. The Ben 10: Omniverse has a pathetic design. They just chewed up both Ben 10 and Ben 10: Alien Force series and vomit out to look like that.
3. Intro song always about the title.
4. Weak plot

I protest that I want the old Cartoon Network back!

The original Ben 10 was great but got old for me, I thought Ben 10:alien force and ultimate alien was great, Ben 10:omniverse on the other hand is horse poop.

13 Scooby Doo

Even though it is better than the modern cartoons, this show is not actually good. It has an interesting premise and character concepts but other than that it sucks. I am not attacking the classic cartoons. I love Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry but this show is just meh. The writing is horrid. You can easily create a program to generate the scripts for this show. Other Hannah-Barbara cartoons were better. Cartoons such as the Flintstones, Johnny Quest, QuickDraw McGraw, and Tom and Jerry had better stories, characters that you can relate to, or better humor. This show insults a kids intelligence treating them like 4 year olds. This was also Hannah-Barbara's first step to being uncreative. They created a whole bunch of pointless Scoopy Doo rip offs such as Goober and the Ghost Chasers. Scrappy Doo did not ruin this show, this show was bland, repetitive, and bad from the start but he was a horrible character that made this show worse. Now it is a cash cow getting milked really badly. ...more

I get that Scooby Doo has been a successful animated franchise that has been known one of the most iconic American cartoons of all time, but come on! Why couldn't they just leave the original series alone and let it be remembered as a classic? There are so many fresh new original ideas for cartoons nowadays such as Rick & Morty and Steven Universe, so why does Scooby Doo all of a sudden continue to wander around like a zombie and make attempts to keep the franchise alive when no one cares about Scooby Doo anymore? Let's face it, with the exception of What's New Scooby Doo, there has never actually been a good Scooby Doo remake. The franchise is so overrated and it really needs to die, but sadly Hannah-Barbara and Warner Bros. seem to be completely obsessed with Scooby Doo's successful marketing campaign :(

Scooby Doo has lasted for nearly 50 years! Yes! That's right! 50 long years! Its been almost half a century since the cowardly dog made his debut! I have nothing against Scooby Doo personally. I mean I respect its ongoing and seemingly never-ending popularity. But they've made SO MANY Scooby Doo T.V. shows, movies, and specials, that I just don't care for the franchise. It's basically the Pokemon of American animation. And it goes on and on for infinity. Warner Bros. CLEARLY has an obsession for the franchise. Now to be fair, we all have our obsessions. But come on, Warner Bros! There are other series you can give attention to! While they have faced real supernatural forces from time to time, most of the T.V. shows and direct to video movies (the original series included) are so repetitive and predictable, that they just bore me. It's the same over and over again. I mean seriously, doesn't Warner Br os. g et bored of this? And not to mention, we don't need a new Scooby Doo movie EVERY ...more

The show is very repetitive. A monster commits a crime, Shaggy and Scooby get scared, a three minute chase scene happens, they blame the exact same guy every episode and they all laugh at the end.

14 The Amazing World of Gumball The Amazing World of Gumball The Amazing World of Gumball is a British-Australian-German-American-Irish children's animated television series created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network.

I don't know why you people say the animation si bad and it's lazy. I can tell that a lot of effort is put into this show and that the animation is the best I've ever seen. If you say this is bad, then try to think about the worse shows *cough cough Johnny test cough cough* this show is pure genius, please leave it alone, it's still new! Besides, at least it isn't as overrated as... ADVENTURE TIME and SpongeBob! And it is not overrated, but not underrated. It has just the right rating. A good show has to have haters and fans. If it doesn't, it's annoying.

Whoever said that Gumball is a rip-off of Katy Kat must be out of their mind! Sure look similar but personality-wise (which is what matters) they are extremely different! Gumball is more of a troublemaker but Katy Kat is loyal. My best guess to why they said that is that they're a troll trying to get people upset! Also the person who said that had really bad grammar! I am from Saudi Arabia and I know how to speak English better than that!

by the way: I am a Muslim!

This show just seems like it's the leftover scraps of adventure time. Which is why it sucks, all this show is is a retarded blue cat who just yells all the time, and this show actually has worse animation than adventure time, HOW is that possible? Well this show pulled it off, and everything about this show is bland, boring, and most of all ANNOYING.

Guys please, I mean have your own opinions, whatever... but consider this. Out there there is a show called Clarence. It's brutel, terrible, but the worst part is the humor. If you're the kind of person who likes to see a fat kids butt, and hear all of these potty jokes, then fine. Go watch Clarence. But we all know which show is WAY better and that you'd rather watch...

15 The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon.

I'll admit that I actually liked this back when I was a kid, but ever since they had the baby character the whole show has been going to crap ever since (my personal opinion). I'm over 18 now so I've pretty much grown out of kids' cartoons anyway.

I've especially grown out of this show because of Butch Hartman's recent controversy. Considering how he's exposed his true colors, it's clear now that this guy's career is pretty much over. It's done.

I also don't know if it's still going but if it is then it really should end because it really doesn't have any fans anymore (especially since Hartman has pretty much fallen from grace).

This is one of the most obnoxious shows that I have ever seen in my life. The biggest problem with this show is probably its characters. All of them come across as one-note and/or unlikable. Timmy is very selfish, Cosmo is so dumb he makes Peter Griffin look like a genius, and Wanda is the stereotypical nag. We also have the sadistic babysitter, the crazy, evil teacher, and the stereotypical "dumb" parents. And don't get me started on the characters added on later to the series like Sparky and Chloe.

And then we have the voices. People like Tara Strong and Grey Delisle have proven time and time again that they are talented voice actors, but on this show EVERYONE seems to deliver their lines in the most obnoxious, over-the-top manner that they possibly can. I don't know who the voice director on this show is, but the way he or she is directing the voice actors makes the character voices come off as shrill, stereotypical, and incapable of expressing a wide range of emotion ...more

I hate this show! It's so cheesy! I mean, look at the animation and characters and stuff! Watching this show makes me want to makes me sick. You get Timmy, a smarty-pants who wishes psycho wishes, Cosmo, a really annoying fairy with a voice that makes me want to slam my head into a door 100 times, Wanda, a paranoid nagging fairy, and Vicky, the evil babysitter. What the heck is wrong with those characters?! Also, there's too many toilet jokes, puns, and other stupid childish humor. The humor isn't for adults, the characters aren't for adults, the animation isn't for adults, nothing's for adults! Because it's Nickelodeon, it's a kids channel! I like Nickelodeon shows like SpongeBob, Rugrats, All Grown Up, Loud House, and many others, but not this crap. However, this show should be rated T.V.-MA, that way it can have adult humor, adult characters, and lots of swearing! This show is just plain stupid, and it's boring! Don't watch it! Also, go ahead and thumb down my rant, I don't ...more

I used to like this show, back when it was funny... AND not repetitive.

Honestly, I'd rather watch more enjoyable Nickelodeon shows, such as: Rocko's Modern Life, The Loud House, SpongeBob SquarePants (Seasons 1-3 & Seasons 9-present), Ren and Stimpy, Angry Beavers, All That, Harvey Beaks, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Drake and Josh, and even iCarly.

16 South Park South Park South Park is an American adult animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the Comedy Central television network. The show is about four boys, who are Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick, and their adventures in South Park, Colorado.

How did south park make it on here. It's not overrated it's underrated. Just because some religious asses find this show racist or satanic doesn't mean it's overrated. Obviously the people who commented here have never watched an episode of this show.

Shows like South Park, Family Guy, and American Dad just prove that "adult" animations really have nothing to offer outside of constant sex jokes and cussing, which is actually just really childish when you really think about it.

It hasn't gotten worse to the same extent as Family Guy, SpongeBob or the Fairly OddParents, but it's definitely been getting worse.

The other difference is that its fans refuse to see any slip in quality. Seasons 1-10 are better.

I've written a damned Undertale crackfic series that is easily JUST as good as the vast majority of this show and gotten tons of hate for it, but as long as the producers of South Park write this type of crap, it always gets showered with praise.

May I please kindly ask: WHY?

17 Star vs. The Forces of Evil Star vs. The Forces of Evil "Star vs. the Forces of Evil" is an American animated television comedy produced by Disney Television Animation for Disney XD. It was created by Daron Nefcy and developed by Jordana Arkin and Dave Wasson. The series follows teenage magical princess from the dimension of Mewni Star Butterfly and her more.

I like this show, but the fans set me off. So I was watching PhantomStrider's video on best American cartoons. SVTFOE was an honorable mention. And the butt-hurt fanbase of this show was complaining in the comments and saying that it was better than Looney Tunes and The Simpsons and South Park. And they said that it was a "revolutionary moment in cartoon history", and "a landmark of all cartoons". GOSH, I like the show but it's not THAT great.

For me, it was a toss-up between this and The Loud House. But at least I understand the praise for The Loud House. Star vs. The Forces of Evil on the other hand, dear god.

This is hands down THE most overrated Disney Channel cartoon of all time. And it is definitely the most overrated cartoon of both this decade and in my opinion of all time. Yes, MLP has been dethroned. Here is why I think this show is so overrated.

One reason why I think this show is overrated is because of the main character: Star Butterfly. First up, what kind of a name is that? A 3 year old could make a more creative name. My main issue with Star is that she is one of the most annoying cartoon characters I've ever seen. She is basically Mabel from Gravity Falls except without the redeeming qualities that make her likable. Speaking of Gravity Falls, why the heck is this below it. This show needs to be in the top 5 for sure. Anyway back to the point. Star is very unlikable. She is obnoxious, weird, ...more

I personally hate this show with everything in me.
Star is about the most annoying cartoon character I have ever seen.
Marco is rather boring.
It acts more like a girl show than anything.
It's just an attrocity.

Show is good but all 2010's cartoons are too overrated.
When I was younger, overrated cartoons didn't even exist!

18 Rick and Morty Rick and Morty Rick and Morty is an American adult animated science fiction sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Adult Swim.

I honestly did not get this show at first. I fell into the overrated crowd very fast. However, I was determined to stick it out for both seasons. By season 2 I found myself hooked. The random plots and scenarios started to seem rather genius and beyond my imaginative skills. Now I'm hooked and able to enjoy season 1 upon revisiting. My best suggestion is stick it out and it will pay dividends.

Adult humor, filled with constant belches, nonsensical humor that other shows have done better, all to the bland, dull, and trendy animation style that's mirrored in other shows like Adventure Time...a style that's beginning to overstay its welcome, this is a show I see no charm in. I don't see why others love it. I cannot see a lot of charm in it. At all.

Very lazy animation style that just does not appeal to me at all combined with a annoying whiney kid as the main character, a freaky old man who is a rejected copy cat cousin of Doc Brown. Need I say more?

My dad, his friends, and literally every kid at my school is obsessing over this show. I watched some episodes and it didn't really grab my attention, probably because I'm just a teen, but whatever.

19 Naruto Shippuden Naruto Shippuden Naruto: Shippuden is the ongoing sequel to the original Naruto anime and covers the Naruto manga from volume twenty-eight on. The TV adaptation of Naruto: Shippuden debuted in Japan on February 15, 2007 on TV Tokyo. It is developed by Studio Pierrot and directed by Hayato Date.

"The only part that really caught my eye was the Akatsuki. So many great villains that should have great backstories! But, then, Naruto Shippuden fell for the same thing from the first Naruto series: Naruto's backstory, Naruto chasing Sasuke, Naruto awakening the tailed beast, Naruto farting... I love the whole Akatsuki concept, and the author missed some great points by not giving more importance to them. Poor Itachi's story happened only when he was almost dying. Kakuzu and Hidan had to wait for Naruto to do that stupid training in the waterfalls (BOOORIIINGG! ). We could only find out about Kisame's past when he was about to commit suicide. Deidara, poor man, hasn't got any backstory. Sasori had some stories in fillers. And then fillers. More fillers. More and more fillers. Killer B's dreams. Tsunade reading Jiraiya's book. Chikara Arc, with stupid little crying brats and a tiny little Mary Sue that's worse than Hinata. Poor Akatsuki...

I've never watched Naruto. I heard it's good so I might try it someday. But it's a little rude how I'd anyone critizises the show, or just says something it needs to improve on, a million people come after them for expressing their opinion. Same with DBZ. BUT I'm not hating, and I'm not calling either shows bad or overrated. It's just what I've seen.

This is a anime, not a cartoon. I'd say this is not overrated though. I'd say the merchandise is crazy, but it's a good show. My favorite show of all time in fact.

Sorry but in my opinion Anime is still a cartoon, just from another country. Its nothing special.

20 Regular Show Regular Show Regular Show is an American animated television series created by J. G. Quintel for Cartoon Network that premiered on September 6, 2010. The series revolves around the lives of two friends, a blue jay named Mordecai and a raccoon named Rigby—both employed as groundskeepers at a local park.

Why is this show so like, along with Adventure Time, Steven Universe and Ed, Edd N Eddy. That thing known as "Regular Show" has a very bad influence on kids. What? Talking bird and raccoon who are technically best friends and co-workers of some talking gum-machine-like guy? This is absolutely! No maturity or logic, it's so stupid and disgusting, terrible animation, unlikable characters AND...the guy who created it up is some guy who's drunk while writing this. I'd rather watch paint dry than this, I'm basically losing faith in nowadays-cartoons.

What do I have against Regular Show?

Back in the days, J.G. Quintel used to make a short called 2 in the AM PM, which is a little bit explicit. But, as Cartoon Network becomes more awful and destroyed its good old name, they scrapped his ideas. Every episode doesn't make any sense. So unimaginative, lame, and every character, even Benson, is a total douche to Mordecai and Rigby. Seriously.

Seriously, the plot of these cartoon is so boring! Isn't the point of cartoons to experience things that don't happen in real life? This is the life of two losers working in a park... only they happen to be a bird and a squirrel thing.

This show is pretty good and holds its weight unlike other cartoon network shows. Great random funny plots and very casual yet funny main characters who are relateable but not too annoying.

21 Naruto Naruto Naruto is an anime and manga franchise Naruto, created by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga was later adapted into a television anime, which was produced by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex. It premiered across Japan on the terrestrial TV Tokyo and other TX Network stations on October 3, 2002. The first series more.

This show is not "bad" albeit definitely in the mediocre category especially when compared to other anime.

Anime, not cartoon. And I don't care if people say "anime IS a cartoon". They're always wrong.

Thanks to its filler, Toonami got cancelled.

I don't why people concider it best anime off all times, its filler catastrophy.

22 Digimon Digimon “Digimon” is a term commonly used to describe a variety of Japanese anime series based on the Bandai virtual pet brand “Digimon” (Dejimon). As of 2017, there are 7 series: “Digimon Adventure” (1999), “Digimon 02” (a.k.a. “Digimon Adventure 02”) (2000), “Digimon Tamers” (2001), more.

Honestly, the Digimon anime/cartoon is better than the Pokemon anime/cartoon, at least from my opinion/point of view.

strange because I'm a pokemon fan and don't know anything about digimon, was forced to watch digimon cartoon/anime when I was younger because my siblings always hog the T.V.

Digimon is actually quite different from Pokemon... Just cause they have monsters that can fight doesn't mean it's a rip-off.

This show was already in the works when Pokemon came out, so they couldn't have "copied" it.

I'm starting to believe people saying it's a rip-off haven't even seen the show

Lamest anime I ever watch way back! These characters wearing helmets, gloves, and weird looking outfits are terrible and the monsters acts like a Winx Club pets with girly eyes! And why does every show ends with "mon"?

I loved Digimon in fourth grade. Compared to the other seasons the first one is the best. It's a complete rip-off of Pokemon, and its just to...I don't know, but its pretty crappy now

23 Teen Titans Go! Teen Titans Go! 'Teen Titans Go!' is an American animated television series produced by Cartoon Network. The show follows a superhero group called the Teen Titans, and shows what happens when they go home and have silly adventures. This show is Cartoon Network's revival of the popular 2003-2006 American animated television more.

This show completely and totally sucks, as it's over promoted and played, but the worst offense is the characters.
The Top Worst Characters-
1.Robin- A paranoid, bossy idiot. That's all there is to say.
2.Raven- The exact poser producing stereotype of a "goth girl" that so plagues the underground subcultures.
3.Starfire- While she's nice, many of the episodes show that she has almost completely absent to no moral values whatsoever.
4.Cyborg- His silly antics are very clever and well put, but when overused (and they are), they get annoying.
5.Beast Boy- The best Titan, but still annoying. His voice-actor put too much effort in to making him sound like an adolescent and the outcome was a high pitched, syrupy voice.

This show should have never been allowed to be created if possible, or should have been cancelled at the end of season 2.
First of all, a good portion of the audience is 5-11 year old children. Yet it completely fails to properly entertain children, nor displays somewhat morally correct lessons for adulthood? That is a sure sign that a cartoon is overrated. I've seen it back in 2016, and MAN! I could sense that it was pointless for everyone and overrated.
I mean who in the world would want to see people play cooties, promote gender preference, going insane over a yearbook, and many more stupid things should be dead by now, or at least be ended in 3 or less years. Once the show is cancelled, it should be replaced with undervalued or popular shows that is actually good like regular show, adventure time, or a show from 2004.

"In Defense of Teen Titans GO! " exists and only got 3 dislikes as opposed to its 39 likes. Also, PhantomStrider was attacked for hating Teen Titans GO! instead of loving it but the original instead. Teen Titans is underrated because it is very sharp, three-dimensional, atmospheric and intelligent and Teen Titans GO! is overrated because the characters are infantile, the character animation is stereotypical, it (mostly, not wholeheartedly like PPG 2016) has nothing to do with its predecessor and makes butthurt excuses out of it. Jambareeqi is totally right to strongly praise Teen Titans! rather than its successor, which recently, has learned from the original Teen Titans.

Cartoon network want to shove this absolute tripe down your throat, it's constantly on the network & it's a real shame they have turned the titans into abysmal dummies, robin has become a whiney brat & the most interesting character Raven has been turned into some sort of emo, does someone have a grudge against the original the titans? Seems like it, judging by this total abortion.

24 Big Mouth Big Mouth Big Mouth is an American adult animated sitcom created by Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett featuring teens based on Kroll and Goldberg's upbringing in Westchester County, New York, with Kroll voicing his fictional self.

This show is so gross. It has shock value for the sake of shock value, ugly characters and very disgusting scenes. Whoever created this show is a pedophile.

How is this disgusting, perverted, vulgar, offensive, pedophilic, inappropriate show not in the Top 10?!

25 The Powerpuff Girls The Powerpuff Girls The Powerpuff Girls is an American animated television series created by animator Craig McCracken for Cartoon Network. The main characters of this show are Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. The show is about the Professor Utonium creating three little superhero girls that save the day from villains. more.

Wow this show is overrated but it isn't bad!? I mean season 5 and 6 were awkward and were not so good but I wouldn't really put it at the top 20 probably near the top 30 or 40.

Powerpuff is mediocre. Yet they're considered yo be the best thing since sugar spice and everything nice.

This show is So OVERRATED! Plus there's nostalgists who attack Chris Savino for making the bland seasons. They should shut up!

I think it's a good show, and it aged very good, not like other cartoons like Cow and Chiken and I am Weasel.
