Please forgive me for putting this trilogy on the list. I usually don't bash anything, but let's face it: the Transformers series is not that great. Yes, it's the first time Transformers goes live action and I know it made a huge amount of money and it has your all-time favorite stars, but they're just robots for crying out loud! It's just a movie series that are made to sell toys. If you like the movie series, especially particularly, I respect your opinion. It's those stupid people and fantards who can't let the movies go, along with the haters. The critics who panned the films are not the problem at all. It only gets an academy award for best picture if it's worth it! In other words, just let it go.
Not really sure if the Transformers franchise can be considered overrated because anyone with even half a brain will realise immediately that these movies are poorly acted poorly written crap by the no-talent hack Michael Bay.
This movie made me realize that the Cartoons that I loved as a kid, really were not as good as I remember.
Loved this one. The other 3 were terrible.V 1 Comment
It was probably ok for its time but now it just seems like a mix of boring skits. If you are younger than 50 don't watch it.
Not that funny and DEFINITELY NOT the funniest movie ever
This movie is hilarious
This was quite possibly the worst movie I have ever attempted to watch. I could not even make it through the entire movie.
The series is already overrated
Best Harry Potter movie ever without a doubt. - JustinDanger
This movie is great! It's one of my favorite childhood movies!
Time has not been kind to this film, just look at the sets!
It is no way true to the original book. Too much emphasis on songs, Oompa loompa songs sound like racist minstrel shows than the creative songs in the book, there are plot holes and it brings Charlie to the level of the bratty kids through the fizzy lifting drinks.
Uhh... I thought it was Charlie and the chocolate factory?!
So many people rate this as razor sharp satire, underpinned by a genuinely commendable moral message. However, I have never seen a film so middle of the road before. The humour never goes beyond the obvious, and every 'witty' comment made can be seen a mile off. And as for the moral message that everyone champions - well yes, I suppose it is commendable, but the delivery is without passion and has been done before with more heart and originality. Not a terrible film, but undeserved of its high praise.
I don't think that this movie belongs in the most overrated movies list. Many films of the genre ( highschool / girl problems ) aren't that good and this one was really standing out. Besides that, all the characters were very well played ( especially Rachel McAdams and Lacey Chabert ). If it's overrated ( and I think it deserves to be overrated ) it's because the movie is very good.
I don't object to dumb comedy but this is a dumb comedy masquerading as something more than it really is. It's pretending to be insightful social commentary and it just is nothing of the sort. Having lived in Africa for 15 years I don't understand why Cady Heron has an American accent.
Just because many people like it or talk about it ( in a good way ) doesn't mean that this movie is overrated. If a film is good it's normal that the movie has a lot of fans for it. Overrated isn't based on like or dislike ratings. Overrated means that a film is concidered as good when in fact almost no one like the movie. " Mean Girls " is not an overrated movie because it is really good and very well performed by the actors and actresses. Saying that this is dumb ( like one comment says ) because he can't understand why Cady has an American accent after living in Africa for 15 years is " the " dumb comment. Her parents who are Americans moved to Africa where she was homeschooled by American teachers there. Speaking ( with her family and teacher[s] ) and learning in your native language doesn't change your accent just because you're living outside the USA! Plus, it's suposed to be a comedy, not an intelectual insightful sociologic movie. Not overrated!V 5 Comments
I actually like the changes that Kubrick made. It's nothing like the book and that's ok. Adding the maze was a great metaphor and nice visual touch not to mention the added potential for tension. The problem is in the word potential. It's a horror movie! Build some tension and add some scares for gods sake! This movie is almost two and a half hours long. And for the most part nothing happens. When something does happen it's over before it can get scary. Seriously, the most frightening thing that happens to Jack is that he kisses a naked old woman.
It's not because this movie is boring or anything, it's just that almost everyone calls this "thing" a classic or a masterpiece. I mean, COME ON. The film completely destroys everything that was wonderful about the book. The acting is terrible. The wife and the kid is annoying, Jack Nicholson is terrific of course, but turning from a psychopath to an homicidal psychopath isn't what I call character develepmont. The rest of the movie is filled with shots of the hotel, creepy occurences that are neither discussed nor mentioned afterwards, a bad and confusing script and finally it ends with a close-up shot of a photograph that eventually leads to these secret messages or meanings that are supossedly hidden throughout this whole movie. Also even back then it wasn't well received (It was nominated for 2 Razzies)
This movie was great and the acting of Jack Nicholson in this movie was mind blowing,I admit that it isn't a very scary movie but it's a quite good movie to watch and people don't much about this movie about other movies - zxm
Not overrated at all. This was a game changer for the horror genre.V 1 Comment

The first two are fine. The third one... Ugh.
Overrated and Gwyneth Paltrow was a big mistake for this movie.

I'd say it's a bit overrated, but Kevin Smith improved this with Mallrats and Chasing Amy. - BeatlesFan1964
Best movie ever made
Um no, there is no "best movie ever made". Just saying that proves people right that this movie is overrated. - JakePlaid
Overrated, LOTR are the most overrated films of all time
Ugh, my god how can this be considered one of the best movies of all time, I mean the plot was pretty scattered everywhere, and the acting was worse than jaws 4's acting, the characters were just obnoxious, and what was with the giant ship at the beginning, I mean it came out of nowhere like a Monty python bit, but seriously what is wrong with modern people nowadays
One of the worst superhero movies directed by the worst director ever, James Gunn
There are always the annoying fans talking about this dreadful film
The fans can suck it, suicide squad is betterV 17 Comments
