83 Skillet Skillet Skillet is an American Christian rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996 and based in the United States.

Underrated in the mainstream community, yeah, but in the Christian group, where people actually listen to them, not at all underrated.

I went through the whole list just to find them. These guys are crazy underrated, they're amazing in concert too.

Just listen to their music! They have to be in the top 5 at least! Their album comatose is one of the best albums of all time!

They have sick songs, just listen to them, you will get hooked.

although they are quite well known but still they are most underrated rock band

They sold tons of copies of Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith, yet had no hits...

My favorite song is by them! - Pony

86 Mudhoney Mudhoney Mudhoney is an American alternative rock band. Formed in Seattle, Washington in 1988 following the demise of Green River, Mudhoney's members are singer and rhythm guitarist Mark Arm, lead guitarist Steve Turner, bassist Guy Maddison and drummer Dan Peters.

Their lead singer Mark Arm actually was the one to come up with the word "grunge". They literally invented the genre! - Kfox101

The Godfathers of Grunge, even before Nirvana. - Pony

87 Joy Division Joy Division Joy Division were an English rock band formed in 1976 in Salford, Greater Manchester. Originally named Warsaw, the band consisted of singer Ian Curtis, guitarist and keyboardist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook, and drummer Stephen Morris.

If Ian wouldn't have gone in his inner depression, the band would've kept on going with him, and would have become an international icon. And wouldn't be part of this list. I say so because Joy Division's two actual albums and singles Love Will Tear us Apart, Dead Souls and ATMOSPHERE are all soaring masterpieces.
ps- RIP Ian, you sweet soul. - PinkflASHES

R.I.P. Ian Curtis. - Pony

92 Manic Street Preachers
93 Porcupine Tree Porcupine Tree Porcupine Tree were an English rock band formed by musician Steven Wilson in 1987. The band began essentially as a solo project for Wilson, who created all of the band's music.

Actually not too bad this list! (normally full of nu-metal rubbish). My Pick goes to Porcupine Tree! This band is one of the most consistently great band ever to have existed. Its rare to discover a band both experimental and accessible. For fans of rock with atmosphere, flawless musicianship, audiophile sound quality and a live show to put most bands to shame.

Should be popular among Pink Floyd and Radiohead fans

I'm looking for this what a horrible list this must be 1

94 The Sweet The Sweet

I love these guys, they definitely deserve more love and attention than they get.

Paved the way for glamrock.

Baically the first glam rock band ii history.

95 The Smiths The Smiths The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. The band consisted of vocalist Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce.

Morrissey + Marr = Songwriting masterpiece. So sad we won't be hearing any more masterpieces, because in my opinion, there is no other artist that has or will ever come close to The Smiths. Better than Beatles. Better than Stones. And especially better than Queen.

Honestly one of the most, if not THE most underrated bands ever. One of the very few bands that I can listen to every album of there's from start to finish without skipping.

Everyone likes The Smiths, but one one really sees their skill. They were a very talented rock band!

How are they underrated. Every averaged college student in Europe know at least their most famous songs. Perhaps it's different in the U.S. Great band anyho - ChatonNoir

This band is so underrated that it is raked 101 in a underrated rock band list... Come on they were a big influence for Clapton, Pink Floyd and even The Beatles. Great songwriting, three excellent singers, one of the most laid back rhythm section. They toured with Dylan and their first two albums are masterpieces constantly praised by other artists.

Some of the smartest music that inspired greats like Eric Clapton and others. Amazing and underrated roots rock

The most underrated band. Amazing musicians filled with unique intruments like the mandolin, accordion, and an amazing sounding soprano sax. Great rhythm section to. They never seem to do to much nor to little and they were praised by some of the greats. Just watch the last waltz
