85 The Smiths The Smiths The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. The band consisted of vocalist Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce.

Morrissey + Marr = Songwriting masterpiece. So sad we won't be hearing any more masterpieces, because in my opinion, there is no other artist that has or will ever come close to The Smiths. Better than Beatles. Better than Stones. And especially better than Queen.

Honestly one of the most, if not THE most underrated bands ever. One of the very few bands that I can listen to every album of there's from start to finish without skipping.

Everyone likes The Smiths, but one one really sees their skill. They were a very talented rock band!

86 Queens of the Stone Age Queens of the Stone Age Queens of the Stone Age is an American rock band from Palm Desert, California, United States, formed in 1996. The band's line-up includes founder Josh Homme, alongside longtime members Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita, and recent addition Jon Theodore.

One of the greatest rock bands of the 21st century, made of incredibly talented musicians. They had a few songs on the radio, but they deserve more. It saddens me to think that hundreds and thousands of people will never get to hear them because of crappy, plastic, commercial rock being shoved down their throats and pushing these guys out of the way. They swap genres constantly and make some of the greatest rock songs I have ever heard.

Queens of the stone age, by far the best the music industry has to offer currently besides the Foo Fighters and Eagles of Death Metal.

I'm just wondering how they're underrated on a list of underrated bands. these guys should at least be within the top 20.

So underrated they're underrated on a list for underrated bands.

They have some of the most eargasmic guitar riffs I've ever heard in their songs. should be a lot higher on the list in my opinion

89 Slayer Slayer ...read more.

People seem to be voting for and adding their favourite bands rather than what is actually underrated, something which Slayer certainly isn't!

Probably Slayer then Dreamtheater and Megadeth (even though they have sold about 40 million albums they arent too well known)

Unbelievably underrated. I can't believe A7X is on this list. They aren't too terribly underrated, they just have a lot of stupid people who listen to one song, see talent, and decide to hate on it.

Nothing to say, they are awesome

Yeah us metallica fans made them so underrated - blackBlackBlack

Look at the best songs from Kill 'Em All and Dave Mustaine wrote several of them. Not as good at Metallica but still damn good.

He do write a little bit that's all. He gets way to much credit then he deserves. - Sabbath

They should be the king of thrash not Metallica - superluke10000

Metallica sold out and got popular while the real metal fans stayed with a real metal band.

100 Faith No More Faith No More Faith No More is an American rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before settling on their current moniker in 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man.

Definitely the most underrated rock/metal band of the late 1980s-early 1990s
