82 Evile Evile Evile are an English thrash metal band from Huddersfield, formed in 2004. The band's debut album, Enter the Grave, was produced by Flemming Rasmussen at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark and was released worldwide in 2007 by Earache Records to critical acclaim by fans and critics alike.
83 Electric Light Orchestra Electric Light Orchestra The Electric Light Orchestra are an English rock band from Birmingham. They were formed in 1970 by songwriters/multi-instrumentalists Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne with drummer Bev Bevan.

I love ELO! They have awesome lyrics, catchy melodies, and great talent! I have to say, 'Livin Thing' probably my favorite along with 'Telephone Line' and 'Evil Woman'. It is so sad that not a lot of people listen to them these days. And one last thing, if you like The Beatles, you will probably like ELO because they are similar, but still very different in their own good way!

ELO basically invented their own style of rock n roll and nobody recognizes it. They are legends and always will be. It is sad that people listen to rap when bands like ELO basically use the same instruments and are lot better.

Probably (in my opinion) the most underrated acts of the 1970s and of all time. Do I like other bands more than them, Of course. But ELO is definitely high up there. Their melodies, mixture of pop rock and classical, and their versatility, makes them one of the most massive and sophisticated acts in all of classic rock. They've had tons of hits, but barely any of them get radio play. A definite reccomendation (also "Big Wheels" may be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard)

As Paul McCartney said, "ELO is the son of the Beatles." Their spaceships and strings should be taken seriously.

Baically the first glam rock band ii history.

85 The Smiths The Smiths The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. The band consisted of vocalist Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce.

Morrissey + Marr = Songwriting masterpiece. So sad we won't be hearing any more masterpieces, because in my opinion, there is no other artist that has or will ever come close to The Smiths. Better than Beatles. Better than Stones. And especially better than Queen.

Honestly one of the most, if not THE most underrated bands ever. One of the very few bands that I can listen to every album of there's from start to finish without skipping.

Everyone likes The Smiths, but one one really sees their skill. They were a very talented rock band!

How are they underrated. Every averaged college student in Europe know at least their most famous songs. Perhaps it's different in the U.S. Great band anyho - ChatonNoir

There are a lot of underrated good bands here, but cream is always ignored. Their guitarists was none other than Eric Clapton, and they played some of the best blues rock ever.

Don't stop believing is only 4 minutes you dumbass and why would you vote for it if you don't like their music?

Why the hell is Journey here? They've had multiple big hits including Don't Stop Believing, Faithfully, Seperate Ways, and Open Arms. - naFrovivuS

Journey stinks don't stop I can't shut up because this is 7 minute song. The only song I like is Open Arms in this band. I don't like this band becuase the songs are boring.

Primus is so underrated! Not only are they great at playing instruments, but they are also great at making music! One of the most original bands to ever release music. And not to mention, their live shows are AMAZING!

Primus is WAY underrated. They have the best bassist to play the instrument, a crazy guitarist, and a plethora of amazing drummers. One of the best bands ever.

Probably the best band ever going strong since the mid 80's... No band sounds like them truly original.

They created new genre and are the only representative in this genre

95 Thousand Foot Krutch Thousand Foot Krutch

They really should get more recognition. - LarkwingFlight

They are quite good, better than even some of old linkin park.

Such a great band.

TFK is amazing! Very underrated

96 Slayer Slayer ...read more.

People seem to be voting for and adding their favourite bands rather than what is actually underrated, something which Slayer certainly isn't!

Probably Slayer then Dreamtheater and Megadeth (even though they have sold about 40 million albums they arent too well known)

Unbelievably underrated. I can't believe A7X is on this list. They aren't too terribly underrated, they just have a lot of stupid people who listen to one song, see talent, and decide to hate on it.

Nothing to say, they are awesome

97 Soundgarden Soundgarden Soundgarden is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1984 by singer and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell, lead guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Hiro Yamamoto.

The best band of the grunge era. Cornell's voice was unstoppable. Thayil's guitar playing style is wholly unique and creative. Matt Cameron is one of the most underrated drummers as well. Every album by them is different from the last. They never stagnated when it came to their sound. They will probably get more recognition with Cornell's passing, but they deserved it before.

Best band from the Seattle Scene-singer, guitarist (s), drums and bass are all amazing. And the complexity of their music is great-it's prog without being nerdy-alt tunings and time signatures. These guys make me feel high without even being under the influence.

Dude, these guys started the grunge scene and the only thing I hear when I mention them is " oh, don't they sing Black Hole Sun? "

Best of the grunge bands but the least popular

99 Neutral Milk Hotel

"In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" is one of the greatest albums of all time and certainly the most underrated. Take a listen people and just enjoy pure musical genius.

One album wonder (in fact they made 2 albums and 1 EP, however, only one is well known) but very influential for indie/alternative music world.
