Short-lived band with actual punk roots and elements. They were the Sex Pistols of their day and age.

273 Better Luck Next Time

Not many people know this band but they are great. Must listen to them

274 The Fall

They were one of the first bands that made punk punk.

275 Pain

What pop-punk SHOULD be. Hard-hitting, fun, loud, with plenty of goofy songs to keep the listener smiling, but still able to have enough hard-hitting stuff that you can't help but take them seriously. There are no whiny, sniveling vocals to be found; everything is upbeat and enjoyable, with allusions to parts of geek culture ranging from subtle, blatant, it's no wonder Cartoon Network had them do the "Jabberjaw" groovie back in the early 00's. These guys love their music, they love their nerdyness, and they love having fun. After all, that's what pop-punk should be; fast, tongue-in-cheek, and FUN. It's saddening to see that most pop-punk bands nowadays can't even bring themselves to make one upbeat song, when Pain ironically, was anything BUT painful.
