Best Rappers of All Time

The Contenders: Page 3

41 MF Doom MF Doom Daniel Dumile, also known as MF DOOM, is a British-born hip hop recording artist who spent most of his life in the United States.

If I gotta explain, it says a lot about you. The underground's rapper's favorite. Most of the guys in this list fell off, succes killed their style, even mobb deep. MF DOOM makes the art an art again, original, with rhymes that keep you puzzled. No, I'm not gonna put up some lame quote, go and listen! Then spend the rest of your life ashamed for this list and its contents.

I want to cry when I see this legend placed under so many trash rappers (Nicki Minaj). This guy literally has an unbelievable amount of talent, I guarantee you will never find a better lyricist. I still remember the first time I listened to "Hoe Cakes" and I've loved him ever since. DOOM comes up with such innovative raps and never disappoints. His unique style, voice, and lyrics are near impossible to replicate as he influenced those like Earl Sweatshirt and Joey Badass. MF DOOM considers himself to be a villain, but he's a hero to the rap game. - gemon529

My favorite lyricist, great voice, lots of back to back rhymes. Dude is talented

Even if nobody reads this, I have to say that the fact that MF DOOM is number 45 is a straight up lie. Most people on this website only go here to vote for one person that they already had in their minds, so it's no surprise that an underground rapper like DOOM with a narrower fan base than most is down here.

If you by some miracle are reading this, please listen to at least one or two MF DOOM songs, maybe off of the album Madvillainy, and then come back and tell me with a straight face he isn't in the top ten.

42 Guru

Just terrible that he is this low damn. How in the hell is John Cena ahead of him?

Absolute disgrace that Guru is so low in the rankings... Just shows what has happened to this shallow generation that only cares about cars, money and girls in the likes of every one at cash money etc. It is my hope that some people who still haven't discovered this genius come across him very soon. RIP Guru

Should be in the top 20 at the least. One of New York hip-hops legends. His mono-tone style and play on words and flow are undeniably great

Maybe because DJ premier is 1/2 of Gangstarr, so their best come to the forefront, but, his Rhymes were sick! His educated words Should give him minimum top 10! Words I manifest, says it all! 20+ years ryhming can't be that far overlooked

43 Mos Def Mos Def Yasiin Bey, best known by his stage name Mos Def, is an American hip hop recording artist, actor and activist from Brooklyn, New York City, New York.

A mc that still makes hip hop look good

Should be way higher up the list! Amazing rapper with a conscience and a great style.

BlackStar is legendary.

His music got me thur many stressful days! Kept me going when I lacked support!

Should be in the top 10 or 15 no doubt, most underrated rapper ever, "black on both sides" is no doubt one of the best albums in hip hop period.

44 GZA GZA Gary Grice, better known by his stage names GZA and The Genius, is an American rapper and songwriter.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? LIL WAYNE?!? GZA is maybe not the most techinical rapper, but his lyrics are philosophic and deep (in a shaolin, oriental way), and still, he stays true to the streets. He's like a painter, using vocals as a brush. That's what you get when you misuse what I invent
Your empire falls and you lose every cent - killer!

GZA is the most intellectual member of the Wu Tang, and his album Liquid Swords got a lot of reception as the greatest solo project from a Wu-Tang member of all time!

Listen to the song "Labels"! This song went unanswered. He called out the whole industry and nobody dared to answer. No disrespect to B.I.G. Or Tupac, but "damn, I show livin large n***** how to flip a definitely jam! "

The GZA is the genius. Enough said

45 Method Man Method Man

One of the best rappers from New York and Wu Tang Clan much RESPECT

Method Man is the real definition of a dope rapper! The New York version of Ice Cube!

Method man is truly one of the best... But below john cena?

Any member of Wu-Tang (the greatest music group ever) should not be at 53. I mean, How High should automatically make him higher on the list (no pun intended). Blackout albums with Red are amazing. - AiJ

46 Meek Mill Meek Mill Robert Rihmeek Williams, better known by his stage name, Meek Mill, is an American hip hop recording artist.

99 that's so dumb he shoukd be in the top 30 just please listen to dream house

He's really good in almost every track he's in. He flows with the beat I mean he's dope

Meek has to be in the top three, though boy's flow and voice are incredible. Listen to his song meek mill, dreams and nightmares, and monster. Meek mill has rhymes like no one could have ever thought of, it ain't no recycled trash like everyone else's. Yet this beast is at 97, yall tripping hard. And who even listens to all them foreign rappers that are supposedly better than the powerful flow of meek, it's like a cat facing a lion. And I ain't even seen slim thug or chance the rapper yet, where they at.

47 Mike Shinoda Mike Shinoda Michael Kenji "Mike" Shinoda is an American musician, rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, graphic designer, manager and film composer.

He is the one and only mutlitalented rapper ever...! He raps smartly his lyrics is awesome and apart from rapping he is Musician, singer-songwriter, lyricist, composer, vocalist, guitarist, pianist, producer, graphic designer, visual artist. He can play- guitar, keyboard, piano, samples, organ, percussion. That's truly awesome he is the perfect entertainment package.. In short he is "ONE MAN ARMY". /

Mike is so versatile! He has a very clear voice you get the lyrics on first listen itself. He does not rap about women money and parties. Writes meaningful lyrics. Mike and Linkin Park!

He is the best rapper ever. He should come at number 1. I am very disappointed he is in 11

Eminem and this guy are the only ones on this list who don't rap about cars, money and about how they think they are changing the world. but THEIR NOT. They aren't changing the world because they SUCK - dfsa

49 Ghostface Killah Ghostface Killah Dennis Coles, better known by his stage name Ghostface Killah, is an American rapper and prominent member of the Wu-Tang Clan.

The most successful out of all the Wu Tang members, Ghostface spits fire. Throughout his whole career most of his albums have been given consistent praise amongst critics and listeners, despite his album Ghostdini bringing out a side of Ghostface in which his fans weren't expecting. However, besides this stumble Ghostface has given the world Supreme Clientele, Fishscale, More Fish, Apollo Kids and The Pretty Toney Album, plus his contributions to the greatest rap group ever, The Wu-Tang Clan (which is another completely different list). Ghostface Killah, has been in the rap game for a long time now, but shows no signs in slowing down, giving him a champion status in hip hop. - MickyG94

Man, how is this dude down at 81. He's top 20 AT LEAST... but I'd have a hard time leaving him out of top ten. - jimmyshoe85

A great artist that paint vivid pictures. You just have to understand the slang. That is what captivates you and you keep the record playing over and over until you get the slang. One of the most overlooked rapper of all time

should definitely be in the top 20, best member of the Wu-Tang Clan and that's saying something - robertoantonioortuso

A top 10 rapper of all time. - djdangerous

Sickest rapper out there and should be easily top 20 who is getting better, check out all his mixtapes because this kid is tight with lyrics that are not ordinary like all these singers who call themselves rappers

John Cena, Dj Khaled can't rap but are still higher than Logic search him on YouTube and
listen to him and you will be as shocked as I am because he is sick. He is so underrated, his rap is real rap that is dieting out.

What the hell is this. Why is Logic only at 133. He should be in the top 10 along with Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, J. Cole, and Tyler the Creator. This list is a disgrace to rap

Now, I almost only listen to 90's ny hiphop. But Logic is amazing. He can do anything, and he has the greatest flow of all time. He is number 1 on my goat list, followed by Nas, Ghostface etc. Logic is simply amazing.

53 Krayzie Bone Krayzie Bone

Best Bone Thugz member, has the best flow, and fastest rapper. Definitely deserves top 10.

Has the best flows I've ever heard, one of the first fast rappers ever, can harmonize like no other, has a great singing voice and you can feel what he raps or sings. If nobody likes Krayzie Bone, or any of Bone for that matter, they don't like real music. Should at least be above Lil' Wayne. Eminem isn't on Krayzie's level either. Yes, Em has great lyrics and sings good, but Krayzie bone flows better and sings better and has a better singing voice.

Best sounding rapper in the game. Krayzie can ride an instrumental perfectly and has some meaningful lyrics

Krayzie Bone is the greatest rapper alive. Better than everyone in that generic top 5-10 they got on here

Akon is awesome he should be further up the list he has great songs and most everyone listens to him because he is the greatest he should definitively be moved way up the list

Much more of a singer than a rapper. - DaWyteNight

56 Talib Kweli

How is Wayne 3rd? That alone makes the list a joke, not counting 50 Cent. Otherwise, the list is pretty decent (not really). Vote for real hip hop.

The most keeping it realest rapper alive. But don't forget Mos definitely as well. But all the people here are voting for the commercial rappers instead of the rappers that are doing it not only for the paper!

Through talib's music I've found that there's ways to face life and that I do have a lot to look forward too in life as a father a man and how too enjoy good music

Talib is the best rapper on this list if not definitely the most inspirational unlike other rappers making songs to play in club Talib talks about life and that's what makes him a great rapper. #greatflowtoo

The greatest battle rapper ever! At the very least is top 30. How many mcs can say they destroyed a legend in a battle

The Lyrical king, by far! Few other rappers got lyrics like this guy.

Has more content in one of his albums than most of these rappers, including eminem, in their career portfolio! check out the lyricism of the most quotable and bar monster rapper of all time! Before you start talking, check out albums C of tranquility, Rip the jacker, For whom the beat tolls...

59 Raekwon Raekwon Corey Quontrell Woods, better known by the stage name Raekwon, is an American rapper and a member of the Wu-Tang Clan.

I'm a big Wu Tang fan. If there was a way I could just put the name Wu Tang Clan on the list, I would, because they have all played a great role in hip hop. From Ol' Dirty Bastard's irreplaceable drunken type flow, Method Man's cool and collected wordplay, GZA's lyrical and storytelling ability, Ghostface's loud and proud presence on the mic, and of course my second favorite (Just by the smallest amount in front of Ol' dirty and GZA) the Chef. Raekwon's solo debut Only Built for Cuban Linx is known to all Wu tang fans as one of the clan's greatest solo efforts, with obvious perfected production the RZA. Cuban Linx, showcases the slang and dialogue from both Raekwon and his Wu tang pal Ghostface Killah. The sequel to Cuban Linx, is the other notably classic album by the Chef, teaming up with the rest of the clan, including RZA and Ghostface. - MickyG94

What the hell is Rae doing down here? All of the Wu needs to be up at the top of this damn list. Real ass rhymes, story telling' magician.

How are guys like Lil Wayne and wiz above this guy. People who vote for those rappers are retarted. Raekwon is the truth!

So you make one of raps greatest albums with only built 4 Cuban linx and that earns you 120? - AiJ

60 Black Thought Black Thought Tariq Luqmaan Trotter, better known as Black Thought, is an American artist who is the lead MC of the Philadelphia-based hip hop group The Roots, as well as an occasional actor.

The fact that Black Thought is this low on a top rappers list has got to be the most out of control logic I have ever been exposed to. Whoever made this list should go back to listening to Country music.

Plus, Eminem is a great rapper but he is not number 1.

this list is bullcrap how the hell is lil wayne in the top 10 and black thought of the roots isn't even on the damn list. Black Thought of The Roots is definitely one of the best of all time -

Black Thought is probably one of the most underrated rappers EVER. The album Illadelph Halflife is a masterpiece. In my opinion, Black Thought is better than Jay Z, Dr Dre, Eminem and Lil Wayne by FAR.

The real greatest of all time.
