Top Ten Greatest Game Shows of all Time

The Top Ten
1 Family Feud Family Feud is an American television game show created by Mark Goodson where two families compete to name the most popular responses to survey questions in order to win cash and prizes.

It's so exciting! It gets me guessing with the contestants. Awesome show! This will probably be around for a long time. I'm just trying to understand why it's not number one.

Family Feud is awesome. I always try to guess the answers with the contestants, and Steve Harvey is quite the comedian. I wish I could be on the show!

Top five answers are on the board. Here is the question: Name the most embarrassing thing that could happen to the emcee of a beauty pageant...

2 Wipeout Wipeout was a game show in which contestants competed in what was billed as the "World's Largest" obstacle course. The series was cancelled in 2014.

This game show is very funny and has crazy challenges and creative obstacles that contestants have to face. They lose when they splash but still stand up to win. The animation sequence (involving stick figure versions of the contestants) is the best part.

I used to watch it all the time until I got interested in other shows. Someday, I want to be a contestant. It doesn't matter what my ranking is. Just being part of the show is an honor!

The more you watch, the more you think you can defeat those big red balls. You enter... You slide off the first one.

3 The Price is Right

Every morning I watch this show. Bill Cullen, Bob Barker, and Drew Carey were equally special as hosts.

Bob Barker was the man. He made the show. Sorry, Drew. You're just idling an outstanding franchise.

It's not even around nowadays. It used to be Bruce's Price is Right. They'd have to get a new presenter.

4 Wheel of Fortune

I watch it every day. Pat and Vanna are the best. They truly treat their contestants well.

My family watches it every night, and now we have to because we are now Wheel Watchers.

I have a really good time playing it at the arcade!

5 Jeopardy

Simply the best. You've got to be well-rounded and have luck. Ken Jennings was definitely well-rounded, but he prepped for years by writing his own trivia questions and puffing up his own ego until he now is a caricature of what a normal person is.

Nothing is as addicting as this show. It makes you appreciate really intelligent people. Even some of the contestants have become celebrities, like Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter, and Arthur Chu. What other game show can you say that about?

Family Feud is fun, but this is your number one game show right here.

6 Who Wants To be a Millionaire Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? is an international television game show franchise of British origin, created by David Briggs, Mike Whitehill and Steven Knight.

What makes Millionaire amazing is its presentation. It's the only show that can take a simple quiz and make it really tense, with its creepy music, dark lighting, and the massive amounts of money at stake.

The revolutionary game show that tests your knowledge in any category. You get 15 questions, and the prize doubles for each question. Lifelines, music, atmosphere!

The only game show that needs true skill. The British version is the best, though.

7 Deal or no Deal Deal or No Deal is the name of several closely related television game shows, the first of which was the Dutch Miljoenenjacht produced by Dutch producer Endemol.
8 Survivor Survivor is a reality TV show in which a group of castaways inhabit an island where they are forced to compete against each other in a series of challenges. They must survive in order to win the million dollar prize.

It's a show where people compete in a game for money. It is a game show, so stop saying it isn't!

Come on, people. Reality shows are better than game shows. Rupert is the best.

This is the best game show, and Rupert is the best Survivor.

9 Minute to Win It

A very fun game to play on your own too. Just get a timer and things that take about a minute to do.

10 Weakest Link

Utterly brilliant. The idea of players both cooperating and competing against each other was brilliant. Anne Robinson was a fantastic host. Even if you don't think it's the best game show of all time, you have to admit it's the most underrated.

I remember this show. It was great.

The Contenders
11 Match Game

Loved this show, and Gene Rayburn, with his snarky comments, was the perfect fit. Too bad the top prizes sucked.

The Match Game was my fave as a kid, and I still watch it now that I'm retired!

The young people today just don't know Match Game. It's the best!

12 Cash Cab

Awesome show! I can't believe it went off the air. I used to love watching it.

13 Takeshi's Castle

Not only is it a game show, but it also has an adventure-type feel. The goal is to win each challenge to get into Takeshi's Castle (such as mazes and Wipeout challenges).

The last challenge is similar to bumper cars that most kids will remember.

Sadly, the problem is that no one can win this game show. It is nearly impossible to beat Takeshi.

It also has a guide, some sort of captain, who accompanies the contestants and may battle with Takeshi on most occasions.

If you're Japanese, you will need to join again and again if you lose.

14 The $100,000 Pyramid

I love Dick Clark and game shows with word riddles. Watch it sometime.

Pyramid is a great show, and I especially love the new version with Michael Strahan.

15 Press Your Luck

Made way for Whammy. Only the best game show ever.

16 Hole in the Wall

One of the funniest game shows ever!

17 1 v.s. 100

Why this show didn't catch on more is a mystery to me. Playing against a group of "experts" seems like it would be much more challenging than one or two!

Awesome show, except the syndicated version kind of sucked.

Still my favorite game show ever.

18 Pointless

The complete opposite of Family Fortunes, Pointless is about finding the most obscure answers to various surveys.

Always good fun, and it's great that contestants have a chance to show off their more obscure knowledge.

A good show to have on in the background.

19 The Chase

These four people have never met before, but by working as a team, they each have a chance of winning thousands of pounds. There's one thing standing in their way: The Chaser. The chase is on.

One of my favorite game shows, but it's probably one of the hardest game shows. Tipping Point comes second.

This one has to be my favorite. Bradley Walsh is honestly brilliant.

20 The Newlywed Game
21 Are you smarter than a 5th grader?

Foxworthy made this show, and what really resonated was that it was so true to life. All the stuff we learned from grades 1 to 5 and forgot comes back to bite us! Plus, the kids were adorable. I hope they weren't in it just to get a Hollywood career going.

Love this show! It shows that most kids have more book smarts than adults!

22 Figure It Out

It's a great show. You get to guess a person's amazing talents. This just gets me guessing the weird and crazy talent. It's even kid-friendly!

I give the original Figure It Out a 9/10.

I give the modern Figure It Out a 1/10.

23 The Cube
24 Family Fortunes
25 101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow

Awesome show. I hope they bring it back.
