The Contenders: Page 7
The ending earned my respect for its vote because it built up so much momentum towards the ending and then it became shattered once he saw the penny. Such a classic movie deserves to be on the top ten. It is such a gorgeous movie to watch because of the cinematography and the music. Oh God, the music has some of the most beautiful themes of all time. All of the love and passion for one person builds into an obsession that becomes Christopher Reeve's downfall, which makes it one of the most sad movies of all time; obsessing over one person to get your desires of your life, and then to see them disappear to realize it was never truly meant to be because time is in your way. Tell me how that does not deserve at least a top ten placement.
Wonder. Obsession. Love. Lives wasted and fulfilled. This is a deep, intricate, spectacular and just beautiful film. Keep those pennies out of your waistcoat!
This is my all time favorite movie and my all time favorite love story. It's a classic and is based on Mackinac Island (I am from Michigan) so it adds a personal touch for me. Overall the story is amazing! If you have never seen it... I suggest you do.
I can't describe it, it's one of the greatest, saddest and beautiful movie ever. If this isn't sad, than I don't know nothing about life, love and death, but I think I do. It's not just a movie about 2 guys who died at the end. It's a story about life, story about how we should live, love, believe in who we are and never ever EVER give up. I cried every time I watching this movie, what can I say, it's the best.
How could everyone on this list miss out the bucket list. The emotional story follows two men who are on the edge of dying, together whom make a list of things to do before they die. Incredible film!
Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. You don't really need to say anything more, do you?
This definitely belongs on a list of all time sad movies. James Caan and Billy Dee Williams. Everyone dies, of course, but it's always more tragic when at such a young age.
Story of the life and death of NFL player, Brian Piccolo and his dearest friend, Gale Sayers.
Makes even the toughest skinned shed a tear
This is below Disaster Movie. Someone stab me with a fork. - 445956V 5 Comments
Oh absolutely, me too. I'm seriously troubled by stories of simian exploitation, so yes this one is very sad, you see my grandma used to work at a monkey sanctuary when I was a kid so I know about these things. Very sad- watch if you want to drown in monkey-sadness tears.
, I watched this when I was 7-8 I think and I cried when kong dies, I'm 16 now and still cry. I think that they should have taken him back to skull island and let him be. I love you king kong. Also how is this so lowley rated, definitely in the top 20 at least.
The big monkey always sets me off. Boohoo.
Saddest film I've ever seen!V 2 Comments
They didn't have to look into their souls. They were there to see if they had souls at all.
My Favourite Movie Ever, I cried the whole way through. Should be above titanic for sure.
So beautiful and so sad.
Definitely the saddest movie I have ever seen.V 3 Comments
Watch and see by yourselves.
I wept for a franchise and all that could have been.
One of my favorite superhero movies
This movie was godawful. Assfleck sucked, Superman was dumb and Lex Luthor was the worst ever. I don't get how can the fans defend this piece of garbage. Even Batman and Robin was better than this crap. Worst Batman and Superman movie ever.V 3 Comments
. The ending was so very depressing and maddening at the same time. I wanted him to know that was his mother. It just broke my heart.
It's sad because of how that disgusting nurse tormented people who were special. I would not wanna end up like those people.
The tragic ending to the fate of the part played by Jack Nicholson, will, if you really watch this movie, damage you for life.
This movie should be easily number 1. I've watched many films in my life but none are as sad as this!
This movie, when starts radiates a premonition... And then when Bruce meets Rachel for the last time "Bruce, don't make me your one hope for a normal life." Rachel's death won't hurt someone as much as her letter does. On the other hand Bruce is "She was gonna wait for me."... His life is shattered without he even knowing it. And ultimately as Alfred burns the letter " Sometimes the truth isn't good enough, sometimes people deserve more, sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded. "...
Many people will disagree with me on this, but I think The Dark Knight has a truly tragic ending. Rachel, Bruce's friend in childhood and lover dies because the Joker with zero empathy kills her in an explosion. Harvey Dent (Rachel's fiancee), a truly tragic villain becomes outrageous with desire of revenge, and winds up killing many people and inevitably, getting killed himself by Batman.
When Alfred reads Rachel's letter about choosing Harvey dent over Bruce I shed a tear it was sad to see Bruce fight so hard to get the girl he loved from his childhood and listen to her die without knowing she would friend zone him. Also the ending was emotional too "sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded" gets me every single time
R.I.P Heath Ledger He died After making this movie
Great film very sad worth a watch
This movie have a beautiful twist that make u feel down, when bullying and rejection never let u show what u r inside
I don't cry anything like most people, but this movie had me balling. I mean, my sisters keeper got a few tears from me, but this one had a puddle. It is the most terribly beautifully perfect movie ever. Very raw emotions.
Amazing movie. Cried a lot during the second half of it. So much that I actually contemplated watching it blurry eyed because I was sobbing so much and went through so many tissues.
I've seen movies higher up on the list... But this beats every single one of them! I watch it every nihgt, and every night I cry. I tear up just thinking about it. I don't want to spoil it, but (spoiler alert) the fact that he has to push Natalie away to make her not sad when he dies is so hard for him and me watching it.
1 of the best movies.V 6 Comments
How is john q this high seriously. This is sad movie about parent that is going to lose the most important thing, and would do anything to save them. Any real parent would understand the pure emotions behind this
What makes it so sad, is that some people might have to do something like this to get help for their kids. - RdrTechV 1 Comment
When he has to face the fact that he's going to die. Cried. So. Much
Snape's memories. Wow. I'm used to seeing Snape as a stoic, stern man, but seeing him completely broken down got to me.
I remember watching this. I cried so hard when I saw Fred, Remus, Tonks, Dobby, Snape, Hedwig, and Harry die. (Some of those were DH P.1, but I consider them the same thing) I had already knew they would die, but seeing them as real people and reliving the hardest deaths of my childhood made me cry all over again. Two of the saddest deaths happened here: Dobby and Fred. Also, this movie marked the end of the movies. The books had already ended, though...
I cried when I saw Snape embracing Lily's body during the Prince's tale, and cried when I realized that Harry had to die.V 2 Comments
This should be much higher, not the saddest movie, but very sad, especially when Anakin, as Darth Vader, burns almost to death, it almost captured the concept of what it's like in hell, although that moment was only momentary, whereas being in hell is forever.
How the hell is this at number 98? I didn't cry watching the titanic or the notebook, but I cried watching this! And yes, I'm a girl. The part where the clones kill all the jedi, the part where Anakin killed the younglings, the part where Anakin force choked Padme, the part where Anakin was left burning... It's all so sad!
You didn't Need to say you're a girl, we could've figured that out on our own. - Therandom
The part when Anakin force chokes Padme, it was enough to make me cry. Also the part when Obi-Wan was fighting with Anakin, and Anakin burns. Lets also not forget the saddest part...Padme's funeral
This movie is my favorite movie of all time. It’s not predictable, and it’s just perfectly made. From the moment that SPOILER windu dies, to the ending the film becomes very sad and depressing. The order 66 scene the anakin burning scene the padme funeral...V 11 Comments
This was a sad movie. I love channing tatum. I know ow he felt when his dad died because I watched that movie a week after I lost my grandmother. - cheyeanne
This is definitely a tear jerker. More so than the Titanic, in my opinion. It's one of the most heartfelt and emotionally challenging movies out there with Hachi, Marley & Me, The Notebook and so on. Very good plot, also.
I usually don't like romantic drama movies, but after watching this one, I changed my opinion about these completely. a little bit confusing movie about characters, but also very touching and sad movie 4.9/5
I cried when I saw this movie, so emotional and heartwarming.V 3 Comments
