Top 10 Things that Make High School Worse Than Middle School
If you think middle school is bad, wait until you get to high school. It's far worse in multiple ways.
If I missed a reason, feel free to add it.
-
Increased stress
When you're a teenager in high school, you'll go through so much stress that you don't know how to handle it. They pile on work or have very tight deadlines on projects, making almost every teenager unhappy and exhausted at school.
Maybe this is why teenagers are so moody and rarely happy.
Seriously! There's so much homework, and my school feels the need to make everything so complicated. I'm only a month into my freshman year! It sucks!
Stress in high school is ridiculous. From projects to tests to trying to keep your grades up to planning your future.
-
State-mandated curriculum
-
Increased drama
Middle school drama is about smaller things, and there's more of it, while high school drama is slightly less abundant but involves bigger issues.
Elementary school drama: YOU TOOK MY ERASER!
Middle school drama: YOU STOLE MY CRUSH!
High school drama: YOU FORGOT MY WEED.

Not only that, but it could absolutely kill your grade.
Middle school has hard exams, but high school's are almost impossible.
-
Constant college pressure
I mean, you can go to college if you want, but if you don't want to, that's perfectly OK. What are you doing, holding me at gunpoint to go to college?
Teachers, we teens can decide what we want to do. I know you have to support us, which is great, but stop pushing us to do things that we might not even want to do.
"College is important! You have to focus on us and be good in order to get in!" *Facepalms* I know people who used to have lots of bad grades who got in.
-
Annoying classmates
And now there's even more than in middle school.
-
Hypocritical teachers

It's so stupid having standardized tests even in high school! It was already stressful enough in middle school. But it's even more stressful in high school due to harder coursework, extracurriculars, and other tests like the SAT, ACT, and AP exams.
Luckily, I only had to do the standardized test one year and passed without studying, even though I did poorly most of the time in middle school when studying for hours each day.
Why do we have to take standardized tests?!

My history and biology teachers make the students take Cornell notes all the time. Cornell notes are useless and don't even work.

If you don't know what these are, you're very lucky.
