Top 10 Tips & Things You Should Know About High School
Drugs will ruin your life. A section of my friends does drugs, and I personally try to get them to stop. It is no use - they are already addicted. Don't think it won't happen to you.
Drugs are a bad habit, so you should not do them because they will kill you!
I promise that I will not do that because I'm a nerd.
One vote = if you are a nerd.
This really depends on your awkward hobby. If your hobby is something that's appropriate to share and you wouldn't care what people say about it, then it's okay to share it.
Nobody wants to know about your booger collection.
Most of the people in my class really need to know this! High school isn't like elementary school, where if you don't do your homework, teachers will let you off the hook and give you a bunch of extensions.
Procrastination is when you wait until the last minute to do homework.
I do this all the time. I try to stop, but it always comes back to haunt me.
I didn't get to have a freshman orientation in summer 2020 thanks to the pandemic and the fact that my entire freshman year was online.
If you go to orientation, you can get to know your school, and you will be WAY less nervous on the first day of school.
My high school serves free pizza to the incoming freshmen during orientation.
Even if you try your best to stay neutral, drama will find a way to get to you.
Nobody will like you.
Sophomores may make fun of the freshmen a little bit, but the juniors and seniors definitely don't care enough to do anything to them. If the freshmen don't bother the seniors, the seniors won't bother the freshmen.
This is why bullying is bad and should be stopped.
As a sophomore, I agree with this.
Always get the important stuff down. Make sure your notes are organized so you can use them to study.

Like, in eighth grade, I was not in my best shape. I gave up my interest in learning foreign languages by never reading about them or watching videos, due to criticisms from classmates, very low grades, and even my parents' advice.
In seventh grade, I was very immature a lot of the time and made poor choices. But when I learned I had to take at least two foreign language classes in high school, I chose French. When I got there, it was really enjoyable, and that reignited my interest in learning languages again. Those low grades and criticisms from classmates never happened again, though my parents' advice remained.
I don't have a problem with this. I just ask the person to move, or I wait.
One time, I had to talk to one of my teachers about something, and I was running late for class. The teacher forgot to give me a note, and when I got to my locker, a guy was getting something from his bottom locker. I could tell he had a physical disability. When I tried to help him get his books, he declined, so I had to wait about a minute. I ended up being about a minute late for class, but thankfully, my teacher was cool, and I didn't get in-school suspension or a write-off for being late.
Usually, when I want to talk to someone, I just walk with them, go to their locker, talk at one of our classroom doors, or, if I am walking in the opposite direction, I just pull a U-turn.
This happens all the time in my middle school, and most of the people in my grade are super loud. I hate being classified with those people.
They do this in high schools as well. I dislike it because it usually causes people to get in the way when you need to go someplace.

At my school, literally everyone shares their food and drinks with other students.
I remember how I would sometimes get lost around my school's campus during my first week of sophomore year back in August 2021. This was after returning to in-person school following being online for part of my 8th-grade year and all of my freshman year.
Yeah, people will just stress themselves out. It isn't even that bad. High school is actually fun in my opinion.
Just enjoy it.

Especially if you're a freshman. That will not end well at all.
Not everyone is going to like you, but it really doesn't matter.
Think about what you do have, not what you don't.

It's a trick that my dad played on the freshmen when he was a senior, and it worked! But he got in a little bit of trouble.
I don't know if my school even has elevator passes. There is an elevator at my school, but it requires a key to be operated.
My high school had elevators, but most of the students were not allowed to use them.
Trust me, you don't want to be near or seen with anyone you know is considered a bad influence. The company you keep is the company you get, and no one will want to hang out with you.
Not everyone is going to be a "true" friend. Fake people are always going to be around.
You might as well get used to it.
You don't have to be all bubbly to every single person, and no one expects you to.
Just don't be mean or ignorant.
Yeah, because that's extremely annoying and can cause you to get some bad attention.
