Top Ten Best Things about Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
Well I made a list about biggest problems, let's see what the best things were. AGAIN SPOILERS BELOWThis was the highlight of the movie here. After Kylo Ren gets injured and we hear about Leia's death, a memory of Han Solo appears to Ben and gives him a huge turnaround. This in turn leads to him throwing his Sith lightsaber away and helping Rey. At that point, he is no longer Kylo Ren but Ben Solo.
This was one of the only really good things about it.
The huge amount of Star Destroyers, the Resistance that shows up, and then the huge Resistance fleet that also shows up. It's all action and good fanservice.
The aerial battle was super cool.
Best character in the whole movie. Has lots of witty comments, and had one of the saddest scenes with his memory being wiped out. He then gets it back, and it's wonderful.
She did it in a way that made Mace Windu's lightning deflection seem weak. And then she uses two lightsabers too. It's actually very similar to the climactic ending of Avengers: Endgame in a way.
I absolutely loved this scene. Palpatine died like he should have in Revenge of the Sith.
After Rey's horrific visions of possibly being a Sith, she exiles herself on the same island Luke was on. She burned the fighter she used to get there and attempted to burn the lightsaber. However, Luke manages to turn things around and even gives her his old X-Wing.
Yeah, that was a really cool scene.
Always a good character and even though he doesn't get a lot of scenes, Lando still has it well.
Almost all the new characters in TROS are great. Jannah was my favorite and has a backstory similar to Finn's. Zorii Bliss was interesting even though she doesn't get a lot of scenes. General Pryde, despite being Moff Tarkin 2.0, was actually intriguing. The D-O droid served as comic relief but performed adequately.
While I'm not a fan of her name change, she gets an orange lightsaber at the end and it's pretty cool. It could even be a nice setup for a future film.
It's more like yellow, but yeah. I really like them giving her something unique.
This is one of the most interesting duels between Rey and Ren. The two are in completely different locations but through the Force, they are capable of communicating and locking sabers at each other from far away. It's a cool shot.
I'm not a fan of Leia's death because it was a rushed scene and doesn't do a good amount of service to Carrie Fisher's character. But Chewie's grief-stricken and heartbroken reaction to yet another character he loses (first Han, then Luke, now Leia), is completely understandable.
The Newcomers
A really underrated scene in the movie. Almost every Jedi had a line in the scene.
