Top 10 Strongest Super Smash Bros. Brawl Characters

The Top Ten
1 Meta Knight Meta Knight is a fictional character from the Kirby series of video games owned by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory. He is one of Kirby's rivals, but occasionally teams up with the pink puffball to defeat a common enemy. Meta Knight is known for his powerful slashing attacks and flight in the Super Smash Bros games, and is widely considered to one of the best characters to appear in the series.

Damian's Opinion
Meta Knight is NOT overrated! By far overpowered beast! When I started, I usually played Kirby a lot. But then we started unlocking so many characters, and I decided to start playing Bowser a lot. Then I unlocked
Ike and I thought it could not get any better until meta knight! Every move of his does 20-25% damage! And they launch them halfway through the map even in launch rate 1.00x and 2.00x, forget it, you stand no chance one-shot = see you later. He is so fast and robust (strong). The only not-even-bad thing about him is that he's kind of slow at flying.

He is just epically great. I see no flaw with him whatsoever. I have never lost a brawl with him, and I plan not to. The only problem with him, is sometimes I get confused about which one is who because he is so fast so I run off the cliff, but still, HE ROCKS.

He's a cheat character! He's over powered too! They don't let him into most tournaments because of that. This is not based on opinion. It's true as a fact in every aspect. He's an overpowered smash character and that's a fact.

Sure, Bowser, Donkey Kong, and Ganondorf have raw power, but in terms of the strongest, Meta Knight has great power, recovery, and speed. He's even been banned in a few tournaments.

2 Ike Ike is the main character in the video game Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the Nintendo GameCube and one of the main characters of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for the Wii.

Even though Ike's Aether is a lackluster horizontal move, he has Quick Draw, the best horizontal recovery in the game! His attacks are more powerful than any character! Meta Knight doesn't have the KO power to be first, he's below everyone that I've talked about. One false move against Ike can send you to the shadow realm! Bowser, DK, and Ganon just don't have the skill to take down the powerhouse known as Ike! I mean, this man killed a fudging GODDESS! With a two-handed sword blessed by THAT SAME GODDESS!

Damian's Opinion
When I started playing Ike, I knew he would be one of the best characters in the game. The only one better is meta knight. His side smash only needs two charged moves to kill someone. And his dash makes them go flying! His up B also makes them go flying. Perfect character!

Ike is the strongest and best in Brawl...He has counter, and having counter is like having every single attack in the game! Don't forget his eruption and side smash as well.
He wrecked a goddess(or at least half goddess),and even if it wasn't a fair battle, he wielded the Ragnell (a goddess made sword) with only one hand, so if he can do that, he can defeat a goddess in a fair battle.
And in SSB4: the characters that are stronger than Ike are Roy and Shulk, but Ike is still the best because of his defense, skill (includes range and special effects and abilities like super armor, counter, etc.), and recovery. No one can top Ike.

Ike is easily the most powerful character in the game. His special attack is incredibly powerful if fully charged or not. If you are able to charge it on somebody who has 50 damage, they're gone.

3 Bowser Bowser is the main antagonist of the Mario Bros. Franchise. From kidnapping Princess Peach to simply destroying a fun game between Mario and Friends in the Mario Party spinoff series, this king of the Koopas has set up a certain hatred towards himself amongst the large cast of Mario Characters. He first appeared in the 1985 popular videogame, Super Mario Bros., in which he was responsible for kidnapping Princess Toadstool (more commonly known as Princess Peach), which was released in Arcades and on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Videogame System.

While Bowser is slow and all, he is extremely powerful, but only Ike tops this guy. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of his forward smash and Bowser Bomb, that's for sure!

Bowser is the most powerful character I ever played! I've been using him for 6 years and he's op. His side smash can deal more damage, making it the most powerful side smash in the game. His final smash is fun to use. He is hard to KO due to his super armor, weight and size. He can KO characters 60% or above. I used him a lot for intense diffuculty like boss battles. He has 5,530 KOs and I'm gonna keep going until he reaches over 9000! He should be first

Bowser is too powerful! His head deals 20-25 damage. His fire breath deals 5-7 damage. His punch is deal 15-20 damage! That's why he's my most character! I used him for 3 years and he has 4,750 KOs! Bowser RULE AND HE'S FIRST PLACE!

Bowser can crush with Bowser Bombs and Flying Slams, his fire is good for racking up damage, his recovery's pretty sweet, and his smashes are the most powerful in the whole game.

4 Kirby Kirby is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Kirby series of video games owned by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory. His first game was created in 1992, and the pink puffball has made his way into the hearts of fans of all ages.

Kirby's ultra sword is killer. It kills basically anyone that comes into its reach. He can also inhale people and fall off the stage for a good suicide kill. Plus, he is fast enough that I could easily compare him to sonic and his moves are just overall overpowered. When he has attack bonus there is no stopping him and what final smashes he could have would just slaughter everyone. They actually made Kirby way to powerful in his games so they actually had to weaken him in Smash bros so he wasn't too powerful. Hypernova and Robobot armor would be too killer and I think even Ultra Sword is maybe too powerful.

Kirby should be fairly high on this list. On the first Smash game, he was quite literally the strongest charecter. With his special moves, light weight to move around, and smash attacks, he can ace. Although in Melee, he was one of the worse charecters, by the time Brawl came out, he changed, for the better. In the SubSpace Emissary, he played the most important roles, and having a large amount to do. And in Smash 4, he still remains a good fighter, with his inhale getting copy abilities from fighters, chargeable hammer, which easily knocks opponents off the stage, decent up and down moves, and good final smashes. His only weakness, is actually, his weight, or lack of weight. He can be knocked around so easily, but due to his speed, he can succeed.

I just started a week ago, and I win almost every time with him :)! But I think if I fought experts, I would lose. Everything is overpowered about him except for his final smash :(. It barely does any damage. His hammer is mighty but very slow, so to block it, you can use the shield or spam him with kicks. A thing I like to do is fly very high into the sky, then turn into a rock and hit someone; they never see it coming! His kicks are so fast, so you can spam someone to 100% damage, then knock out the next move! And he has a great combo to knock out an opponent in one action! You have to swallow donkey kong, charge up his move, then use Kirby's hammer (Do not charge it up, use it once) to knock them back, deal 50% damage, and use Donkey Kong's punch; for an instant win! Kirby, in my opinion, is the most straightforward (easiest) character to master, the Pickachu is, so Kirby is by far the best beginner character and probably the second-best in the game!

Though A: Ganondorf is the actual strongest character and B: People say Kirby is really easy to master, if used properly, Kirby can actually beat EVERY character. My two gamer friends who have totally mastered both Ike and Marth, arguably two of the hardest characters to master, literally banned me from using Kirby because I beat them every time.

5 Donkey Kong Donkey Kong is an arcade game released by Nintendo in 1981. It is an early example of the platform game genre, as the gameplay focuses on maneuvering the main character across a series of platforms while dodging and jumping over obstacles.

Ganondorf, Samus, zero suit Samus, Ike, sonic, pikachu, pit, ness, link, snake, Marth, captain falcon, Zelda, sheik, mr game and watch, peach, lucario, toon link, meta knight, wario, Mario, Bowser, luigi, yoshi, diddy kong, fox, falco, wolf, Kirby, king dedede, and Pokemon trainer can beat the hell out of donkey kong now look how weak he is.

Donkey Kong is TOO SLOW! If he gets too close to Link, Toon Link or Pikachu, they can use Spin Attack or Thunder. They can also shoot him from afar.

And don't get me started with Sonic. Sonic would SEND HIM TO HELL with his mach speed. Overall, Donkey Kong is a slow brute who can only be good if you can actually GET TO THE PLAYER!

Damian's opinion
I suck at him, but he's terrific should be #4. I button mash, and he does crazy damage.

Donkey kong can make shock waves by hitting the ground.he could smash you. He has a punch that gives over 20%damage. He is super strong no doubt

6 Ganondorf Ganon (Referred to as Ganondorf in human form) is a fictional character and the central antagonist of Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series. He is a power-hungry Gerudo who possesses the Triforce of Power and aims to conquer Hyrule with the remaining Triforce parts.

While Ganondorf has some of the more powerful moves in the game, it's harder to hit with them when it seems like they take years to hit... that's why he's behind DK, Bowser, and Ike.

The only reason he is down here is because he is slow. If he were faster, he'd be number 1. Hands down the strongest character in the game. Volcano kick, warlock punch? Amazing. He can throw down for sure

He has basically a one hit KO move, and even his A attack can send opponents flying off the screen. Warlock Punch, Sude Smash, and The Volcano Kick are insanely powerful. He technically IS the strongest; after all, he is the hardest hitter in the game.

Come on! Have you seen his Warlock Punch? Plus, most of his other moves are pretty strong if you'd ask me. This guy is easily the strongest out of all the smashers.

7 Link Link refers to several different incarnations of the same protagonist of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series.

I think link is pretty powerful because he has this bow and that could kill your target from a distance and also his. Sawd is quite powerful at anything like killing jiggly puff it's pretty simple I agree link would be at least sixth on the power list

What's great about link is that he has a balance between his long range and close range attacks so it gives you the chance to fire your arrows from a distance to bring up the hit ratio and then come in for the final blow with the master sword.

At least he's stronger than Mario, the character who's average in everything.

His up smash is great. 2 slices gaining damage and a final slash doing good knock back. It's a sure kill if your oppenent has over 70 damage

8 Zelda

Zelda is actually really powerful! All her moves send people flying! She is hard to master, but when you do you can smash anyone! Not many people know you can control her warping and her fire attack. She should be high on the list because she is so great

People hate Zelda because we have Samus. Samus acts like a boy and Zelda turns into a boy. Peach? What do Peach do? Bring out a toad? Zelda actually uses crystals and fire to attack.

Zelda is a beast with poor attacking. Also, maybe the best Super Smash Bros. Female! Meta Knight's the best though. Why Link? Link sucks.

Thank you! These two and Samus are the best girl characters! They are actually really strong and have a wide variety of moves.

9 Captain Falcon Douglas Jay Falcon, known commonly as Captain Falcon, is a playable character in the racing video game series F-Zero.

Sure, Captain Falcon is speedy and has kill power, he's a little too heavy or a little too light, depending on the Smash game, which can lead to early deaths due to more powerful moves or Self Destructing...

I would make Olimar number 9 and Captain Falcon 10. he is a pretty good character, but he deals a lot of damage but doesn't launch them off the map much.

Captain Falcon is definitely the best player in ssbb he should be first out of every one. He's super strong, fast, and agile. He is great for making combos and his recovery is really good if you hit someone with it. And his Falco punch is insanely powerful plus is final smash is a 1 hit Ko 99% of the time so I say that Captain Falcon is definitely the best.

Really? Meta Knight in the top... Meta Knight is so overrated, their comments are like; "Meta Knight is so strong and so fast"... Please, Captain Falcon is faster and stronger than Meta Knight that's sure.

10 Pikachu Pikachu (Japanese: ピカチュウ) are a species of Pokémon, fictional creatures that appear in an assortment of video games, animated television shows and movies, trading card games, and comic books licensed by The Pokémon Company, a Japanese corporation. A mascot of the Pokemon franchise, it's considered to be the most iconic character of all Pokemon species, as well as a major character in Japanese pop culture, due to its companionship with Ash Ketchum in the anime series. Pikachu has been featured in movies such as Pokemon Detective Pikachu as well as music videos - most notably Katy Perry's "Electric" in 2021.

Pikachu is pretty epic. He has a good balance between his offense and his speed (Normally one is sacrificed for the other) and he has a great recovery move. I recommend him if you are looking for a character that is fast but has that brute strength to back it up.

One of the easiest characters to control and has some very strong attacks. His Final Smash is what makes Pikachu even more awesome. Pikachu is a character that's easy to master and can make you fare very well among some of the strongest players.

Pikachu is OP. At least he is to me. But here's why.

1.He has a good balance of ranged and melee attacks.
2.He can chaingrab. (Grab then down then repeat process until enemy finally escapes)
3.He can KO in style. (Grab, up then thunder)
4.Thunder Jolt can disrupt. Good for enemies who charge up their attacks.

Best part is that when he down taunts, he looks cute yet irritating.

So what'cha waiting for? Vote Pikachu!

Okay, I had this game for a long time, and I love to play it. But come on can't pikachu get some love? He can do thunder bolt, turn into a powerful electric ball, and he's in the mediem speed.

The Contenders
11 Wolf

I use him a lot

This is a lie he is the best if you know how to use him if you don't think that I don't care

12 Luigi Luigi, originally a palette swap of Mario named Green Mario, is a major character featured in video games and related media released by Nintendo. Created by prominent game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, Luigi is portrayed as the slightly younger, taller fraternal twin brother of Nintendo's unofficial mascot Mario, and appears in many games throughout the Super Mario franchise, often as a sidekick to his brother.

Luigi deserves to be the strongest
Why was he the weakest in the first game
I mean Jigglypuff was a bad character in that
Jigglypuff justs has a bad recovery
and bad shield
Luigi can just combo own jigglypuff.

! I didn't know Luigi us is the strongest I love this guy I didn't know Luigi is the strongest

He the best one in the world!

Luigi is a handsome boss

13 Peach Princess Peach is a major character in the Mario Bros. Franchise. She is the lead female of the The Mario franchise. She is usually the character who needs saved in most Mario Games, but also has appeared as a playable character in the Main-Series Mario Games, including Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario more.

Peach is a Beast.

Her slaps are fast and do great damage.

Her upskirt-kick is problably the strongest in the whole game.

She has the most unfair use of the Fan... Just try to escape... you can't.

The strongest, and yes, I am being serious!

14 Mario Mario, originally named Jumpman, is the main character of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, created by the creative director and video game designer at Nintendo of Japan, Shigeru Miyamoto. Mario has appeared in almost every Mario game, including games in spin-off series as a playable character, with few exceptions including New Super Luigi U, Luigi's Mansion games, Yoshi's Island games, and similar counterparts. He is the most iconic character in video game history and is Nintendo's unofficial mascot. His franchise has grown to be the most successful video game franchise of all time.

His final smash is FIRE god, I do not want to mess with him if he had a smash ball, or no weapons at all! heck, I won as Mario from 8 characters against me, should be at least over the tens

Mario is not strong he weak.

15 Sonic Sonic the Hedgehog, trademarked Sonic The Hedgehog, is the title character and protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series released by SEGA, as well as numerous spin-off comics, five animated shows, and an animated OVA.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a very strong guy if you can learn how manage his super fast speed, fast attacks, and his super fast final smash, in which Sonic turns into Super Sonic.

I think sonic is a really good character. I think he should be in the top 3. One reason is because he super fast and hard to stop Also because he can jump really high.

Sonic is the best character. I got to like him after watching the movie. I just realized how strong he was.

He's the fastest, not the strongest. In fact, he's the weakest.

16 Lucas

Lucas has the strongest up smash in the game. (take that gannondorf ) He's incredibly strong with his other attacks too with good comboing.

Go Lucas! You almost made the top 10!

Lucas is the best when he use his smash ball it will be like giant thing will fall down smash you

Up smash. That is all.

17 Yoshi Yoshi, once romanized as Yossy, is a fictional anthropomorphic dinosaur who appears in video games published by Nintendo. Often appearing as a sidekick and helper to Marion, Yoshi is most known for his appearances in the Yoshi's Island and the Super Mario franchises.

You do realize that he isn't as bad as you think he is, I mean, he is grabs, and his aerial attacks are good enough. plus, his final smash is BEAST!

18 Lucario Lucario is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Created by Ken Sugimori, Lucario first appeared as a central character in the film Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, and later appeared in the video games Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and subsequent sequels, also appearing in various merchandise, spinoff titles and animated and printed adaptations of the franchise.

Man I like mastered this dude.

19 Ness

Ness can burn the heck out of his opponents! I was playing with my friend once, and I was throwing flames over and over! And he also has REALLY cool PSI attacks.

Ness should be in the top 10! He has a wicked strong baseball bat smash attack which can work like a HOME-RUN BAT if his opponent's damage is over 100%!

His grab attack is the most powerful grab attack in the game.

Out of all 5 Mains, Ness does not fit.
(Marth, Zero Suit, Ike, Shulk and Ness)
He's slower, stronger and projectile based.
The perfect character to mix up your top five.

20 Mr. Game and Watch Mr. Game & Watch is a 2D generic stick figure-styled silhouette character, created by Nintendo and an amalgamation of the Game & Watch handheld consoles.

He doesn't look like much, but he's a really powerful!

His 9 hammer is deadly!

He is just so underrated I use him every time and win he should be number one

21 King Dedede King Dedede is a fictional character and the primary antagonist of the Kirby series of video games owned by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory.

Now Dedede is an interesting character, because like Ganondorf, he is outclassed in terms of speed, which makes his attacks seem extremely long, which is why he's lower than Falcon, Ganon, DK, Bowser, and Ike.

He should be number one. There is no way 24 characters are stronger than him he is easily the most op.

No thanks! I'm good.
DDD has a powerful and fast grab, he is also, with ganondorf, the strongest and heaviest character in the game.

King deeded is the king

22 Pit Pit is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Kid Icarus series, first appearing in Kid Icarus for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986 and later appearing in Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters for the Game Boy in 1991.

What I fancy about pit is…that he is balanced with flying, range shots, and melee, I would recommend him but I don't want to so people don't steal my character but I really like pit and after that, its palutena. I used his arrows a lot before I learned how to use him and now he is the one I always win with…unless my brother is playing, The point is Pit should be a little bit higher then this because if every kid icarus fan knows Pit, then you should know how strong he could be and how Cool! he is next to other characters, PIT IS AWESOME!

Okay, so I sit down on the couch with my cousin (playing this for the first time mind) and he tells me the controls and stuff (I still don't get it.)

And I smacked him. Pit's gonna Wreck. Your. Face.

My boy Pit kicks ass if you know how to use him. Win in nearly every match with him.

Pit is super balanced out, unlike other classes where they usually have lots of strength but then a terrible weakness which is always getting shown, like Ike's final smash

23 Marth Marth is a fictional character from the Fire Emblem series, developed by Intelligent Systems and owned by Nintendo. He is the protagonist and Lord class character in the first and the third games in the series, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, and Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, as well as their two remakes, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem. Marth debuted in 1990 with the release of Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi in Japan. He is depicted as a heroic prince, sixteen years of age who is forced to flee his home kingdom of Altea after it is attacked. He then leads a rebellion to regain control of his kingdom and save his sister more.

Ah, Marth. The poster boy of Fire Emblem. He just doesn't have the advantage that Ike has with the Falchion, being that in order for Marth to kill, he has to hit with the tip of the sword, which is easier said than done.

Tipping a Mail Breaker at 42% can kill a Mac.
Enough said.

Marth is the best character!

Marth is quick, so he can hit-and-run. His smash is totally KO
-marth is life!

24 Ice Climbers

I guess the reason Ice Climbers is so low on the list is because everyone's trying to forget that Chain Grabbing used to be a thing.

They are the worst!

One of the best characters in the game if you know how to use them

25 Snake

There's definitely a learning curve with Snake. His moves might put him at a disadvantage, but they're effective when used right. Any Snake main will likely slaughter the rest of the players. And his special is fantastic

Snake has very many advantages. He has a variety of moves, whether shooting long distance, or his powerful kicks. Snake is hard to learn more, and to be honest he needs almost all of his moves to win a game. But he can plant mines, blow people off the map when they have low damage with his powerful bazooka, and he is powerful against both strong and weak characters. His one weakness so far (so far bein over 5 years) is Ike, with his super powerful and long range A-button move, and Zero-Suit Samus, when she uses her side whip. But Snake over-all is probably one of the best characters in the game, for sure. I am loyal to Snake forever!

His punches and kicks are super fast and powerful and he has good weapons.

Snake's smash attacks are amazing!
