Douglas Jay Falcon, known commonly as Captain Falcon, is a playable character in the racing video game series F-Zero. Who doesn't love Captain Falcon? This guy is great in like every manner possible. You have to admit, his character is defined mostly by his appearance in smash bros. He is the best guy. The real guy. The guy who should be number 1. Vote him up!

Man, this guy...Captain Falcon's air attacks as well as his rushing Falcon Punches and Kicks are simply insane. Plus, his recovery is also pretty god damn insane.
Link refers to several different incarnations of the same protagonist of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series. Link is an amazing character, personally I think he deserves the top spot but 2nd is still good for him. In personal experience I played him in all the mini games and won em all with link so I think this is a great choice.
Yes Link is really good. I can see why you would put him in second even if I personally would put him in first but to Captain Falcon? Really? I mean sure his falcon punch is OP but it's really easy to dodge, and all his other attacks are pretty neutral, where as Link is fast, strong and can actually jump really high (if you know that you can use bombs to boost yourself) maybe its just because I've only played Smash Ultimate. but just so you know, I'm not saying Captain Falcon is bad
Link is the best character. You can pull your opponent towards you with his boomerang attack. You better not try to attack him from the air because he can use his up smash, bomb, or upward spin attack to send you flying away. Also, his amiibo is not that rare so you can find it easily and train him to turn him into a mean green fighting machine. For some reason, some of his attacks are similar to Shulk's.
When I played SSB3DS, I beat BOTH All-Star Mode AND Classic Mode on 9.0 with this guy! He is Awesome for other reasons too! He's strong but easy to use. Sorry Donkey Kong fans, but don't you find him ugly when he uses the down taunt and when he gets attacked. Link? NO! Who wouldn't want that (except haters).
Sonic the Hedgehog, trademarked Sonic The Hedgehog, is the title character and protagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog series released by SEGA, as well as numerous spin-off comics, five animated shows, and an animated OVA. I like the transformation to Super Sonic he gets with the smash balls. It's entertaining to fly around smashing everyone then seeing how that somehow makes them fly into the air.
Sonic is annoying enough said. Sonic is fast and powerful. His final smash is very powerful.
His fantastic Up-B combined with his excellent aerial combos make Sonic a must pick in any Super Smash Bros. game!

Kirby is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Kirby series of video games owned by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory. His first game was created in 1992, and the pink puffball has made his way into the hearts of fans of all ages. Honestly best Nintendo character ever! (never steal his food if you value your life). Kirby is cute, fun, happy, small, and powerful. His copy abilities never fail to catch my interest, he is adaptable to his environment and foes. The idea of Kirby is so original an enjoyable. Characters from his series are interesting such a Marx or Meta Knight. There's no arguing that he is extremely unique and well developed. I'm also glad he had a decent role in the subspace emissary.

Possibly the #1 deadliest smash character. He eats people and spits them out as stars, he has a hammer to large for his tiny body, and when you least expect it, he takes out a 60 foot long sword!
Plus he is a master chef and will throw you into his soup whenever he wants to.
Kirby is my best character, I like using all my 5 jumps and as my opponent follows use my down special! I usually try to suck up a character with a long range special so I have both ranged and melee attacks.
A message to Kirby fans: He is good in the original games but lousy compared to other Kirby reps even outside of Smash, like Dedede, Waddle Dee, Meta Knight, and the best boss in the game: Marx.
Meta Knight is a fictional character from the Kirby series of video games owned by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory. He is one of Kirby's rivals, but occasionally teams up with the pink puffball to defeat a common enemy. Meta Knight is known for his powerful slashing attacks and flight in the Super Smash Bros games, and is widely considered to one of the best characters to appear in the series. Meta Knight is OP and up special is incredibly strong. He is agile and the only reason I am the best in super smash bros ultimate.
You all clearly are beginners both at spelling and smash bros. Consult competitive battles and look at tier lists. Brawl meta knight is the best character of all time.

If you were really a pro, you would know that he is banned in all tournaments.
Whoever says Meta Knight sucks should be grounded. Meta Knight's air attacks are great and also he can warp anywhere.
He can also glide but not in smash 4.
I'm with MasyMenos. It's NOT a good thing that he paved the way for Ryu, Cloud, and especially Bayonetta! They, and he, are terrible fits for Smash- you WoW, Call of Duty, Fornight, etc. types have no business playing Smash just so your overrated heroes can destroy those lame Nintendo characters! And one thing I liked about Smash was how it managed to be fun without the gratuitous violence the likes of Snake, Bayonetta, and Belmont and their original games bring! And "important character" nothing, Snake's only in because Kojima whined incessantly to Sakurai and Sakurai caved.

This guy opened the way for Ryu, Cloud, Bayonetta and Simon Belmont. He's an important Smash Bros Character, like it or not.
I was proud to main him in Brawl, and I can't wait to main him again in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

He is the most iconic character in video game history and is Nintendo's unofficial mascot. His franchise has grown to be the most successful video game franchise of all time. N64 Mario was by far the best character ever if you knew how to use him right. He could beat anybody by trapping them in your Down B spamming machine and slamming them back down to the ground. After a couple of seconds of trolling whoever you are up against, you hit with a smash attack and they are dead in 20 seconds. You have to be very good to play him right though which is his downside.
In the other games, he is nowhere near as good as he was but still has decent combos and powerful attacks, though you can't spam with him anymore. Nintendo realized he was too powerful and downgraded him so bad. He is a strong character overall and it will test the players skill and fighting style.

Ike is the main character in the video game Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the Nintendo GameCube and one of the main characters of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for the Wii. Fox is a pretty great fighter. I consider him to be the best smash bros fighter in the whole franchise. Sure, he wasn't that great in Brawl being C tier but in all other games, he was at least A Tier.

Fox should be number 1 because his fox barrier can block almost anything,his final smash is one of the longest lasting final smashes,and if he gets knocked out,he can get back to the stadium by using either fire fox or fox illusion.

Mewtwo is a psychic-type Legendary Pokémon from Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon media franchise. Designed by Ken Sugimori, it made its first appearance in the games Pokémon Red and Blue. It was created by Dr. Fuji using gene splicing in an attempt to clone Mew. In the Pokémon games, it's infamously known as the most powerful Pokémon among all species. Mewtwo is capable of evolving into two forms - Mega Mewtwo X (using Mewtonite X) and Mega Mewtwo Y (using Mewtonite Y) I like Mewtwo first from The Pokemon Series and now the Smash Bros. I love Mewtwo despite his hatred towards humanity, he is powerful in both Pokemon Series and Smash where he has tones of moves to use to attack others. He even has his two megas have the highest base stats but tied with Mega Rayquaza. In smash he showed more with his evil moves
Lucario never "replaced" Mewtwo. Mewtwo was planned for Brawl, but was cut due to time constraints. Look it up.
Fun fact: He was also planned for Super Smash Bros 64!

His confusion and disable attacks are great to catch the enemy off guard. Than, strike with a shadow ball!
BEST CHARACTER IN SSB! The first Smash game I played was Ultimate and I was just getting into gaming and I didn't know any character in the game except for the Mario characters and Kirby. I started to get bored playing Kirby so I decided to try Ness. And I never turned back. He's my top main and I'm prettyi broken when I play as him. PK Fire is not my only attack I use as him I use it rarely. His ariels are great and his magic is great too. His baseball bat is over. Powered and his Yo Yo is great to get players in the air to up air them. I just love Ness and it made me want to play Earthbound and it's like my favorite game too. Thank you Sakurai

Lucas' attacks are more powerful. You should give him a try if you like Ness.
He always has one of the best grabs in the game with the best knock back.
He is very unique as a character. He is my main in Brawl. (That's the only Smash game I currently have.) He can be tricky to master but once you master him, you become a beast. He requires frame-by-frame perfection and you have to be particular with the movements on the controller. He is powerful, fast, and great recovery. He might be a little too light, but he makes that up by being an amazing character to master. Worth it? Absolutely! I was literally the only kid back in 2009 who used the OG of Smash. Everyone else I knew used Fox, Kirby, Mario, Link, etc.
Mr Game and Watch's Specials:
Neutral: Chef. I generally only use it for the reliable knockback from the pan, since the flying food is fairly unreliable when attacking opponents (however, occasionally, it has helped to disrupt smash and other attacks.)
Down: Oil Panic. Although it is limited to usage on energy projectiles, it's SOOO satisfying to hit a group of opponents at a time with a fully charged bucket.
Up: Fire. Great recovery move, and you can still attack after you used it. (Up-B,Up-Air)
Side: Judge...Simply put. 9! Although, 6 does have a fairly good knockback as well. (Honestly, Judge is one of the main reasons I play Mr Game and Watch, other than landing an Oil Panic {:P} )
I made him my main also. He is such a unique character and I love it. His scuba up-smash is ridiculously OP as BALLS!
I'm the only kid I know who uses Mr. Game and Watch so I didn't think he'd be #2. He deserves it though. Go gas gun thing!
Ganon (Referred to as Ganondorf in human form) is a fictional character and the central antagonist of Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series. He is a power-hungry Gerudo who possesses the Triforce of Power and aims to conquer Hyrule with the remaining Triforce parts. Everyone says that Ganondorf is a clone of Captain Falcon. I disagree (unless you're talking Melee; he was totally a clone in melee). Ganondorf is a slower, more powerful character. Even though some of his moves, like the Warlock Punch, are clone moves, some of them are different, like the side B. It makes it easier to combo people than Captain Falcon's uppercut.
At a sleepover with some friends, we were playing SSB 4 with my best friends dad watching. So anyway... One of my friends have never played, so we put all the characters except her on random to even the odds and I got Ganondorf. And since her dad was best with him I let him play... Everyone else got wrecked. Even though he is slow, he has REALLY powerful attacks.
Literally the best charecter! Way better than Mario. Luigi. Ness snake definitely cap falcon and falcon! Almost as fun as link.

Roy is just a crappy marth. He doesn't have power in the air where most of the fighting takes place.

Lucario is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. Actually in smash 4 you could easily win with him, for those who don't take risks lucario isn't for you. He is risk reward type character. His up special is incredibly good at getting you out of the void and, ledge bouncing opponents, (use it and if your opponents in air you just attack him with it he'll bounce off the ledge) along with that counter is good even with project tiles unlike, other counters they are really limited, but with lucario he does a clean sweep basically (if playing a 4p smash and all are in a row just plows right through them.
Come On! Why 17? Ness is worse; he should be below jigglypuff. The Pokemon trainer should be the last of all. Anyway, Lucario is fast, his attacks are very cool and badass, don't forget aura sphere. Gotta love lucario and not hate him just because he'd replace him. Don't fry 'cause Mewtwo was replaced.
Best fighter ever. Played with him sience I first unlocked him. I mastered him and I beat my older brother who has been playing for years longer than me. Sure, you could say he is not the best jumper but counter is the hitbox master. His Final smash is the killer move. In SSBB it took me three tries to beat him and unlock him. Aura Sphere dosen't need to be charged it oppontnt is at high percentage. Although entering Smash 4 he got a final smash nerf from the giant beam to Mega Lucario. But he got the beam back in ultimate. And last, WHY IS HE SO LOW ON THE LIST!?!?!? He should be at least 3rd. Thank you Sakurai for adding him.
Lucario is a great character who in my opinion deserves a much higher position but I can understand putting him in 16th.
Little Mac is a fictional boxer and the main protagonist in Nintendo's Punch-Out!! series of video games. He first appeared in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!. He is the smallest and youngest of all the boxers in the games, being only 17 years old across all Punch-Out!! games. His signature attack is the "Star Uppercut". Yes, his recovery is trash but in the right hands he is totally amazing! Such amazing attack power and just a cool revamped design make it! Little Mac just fits smash bros so perfectly, he belongs in the game and I hope he never gets cut! Little Mac will always be my favorite
He is so awesome. I wish they would make him better in the next game so I can see him in competitive play. He is my all time favorite and it makes me sad that so many people hate him. He fits the fighting game style more than many others that for sure
Awesome character, he is so strong on the ground. Not so much in the air... He is so easy to use and learn. Anyone can pick up a controller and destroy as Little Mac!
Good ground game, but that does not excuse his horrible recovery options. All you have to do is gimp him off stage with one solid hit with good knockback and he is done.
Bowser is the main antagonist of the Mario Bros. Franchise. From kidnapping Princess Peach to simply destroying a fun game between Mario and Friends in the Mario Party spinoff series, this king of the Koopas has set up a certain hatred towards himself amongst the large cast of Mario Characters. He first appeared in the 1985 popular videogame, Super Mario Bros., in which he was responsible for kidnapping Princess Toadstool (more commonly known as Princess Peach), which was released in Arcades and on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Videogame System. Really everyone? Bowser is totally the best! He might be a bit slow, but if you know how to use him right, Bowser's got great attacks, good dodges, and he breathes fire for crying out loud!
This guy is a tank! he has bad walking speed, but decent running speed, THE most powerful attacker on the roster, and it is hard to knock him out. If you love powerhouses, this is your guy.

Pikachu is great for people who want to hit fast, and its attacks can steadily build up damage if you use it right. In fact, it WAS at the top of the original Smash Bros. Tier list, right?
Fast and agile so you can dodge attacks and also hit them back with quick attacks. Only downside is that it is light and final smash isn't great.
I really like pikachu, I like fast attacks and lightning, so that's why it like pikachu, first time playing as pikachu was so fun!

Dr. Mario is the persona Mario takes in the Dr. Mario series. Under this identity, Mario dons a lab coat, a head mirror, and a stethoscope around his neck. He first appeared in his titular game, Dr. Mario. I like him more than Mario in Smash 4. He is a bit slower but a bit stronger, and he doesn't have F.L.U.D.D.
People don't know how to use him in Smash 4, that's why people hate him.

Shulk is a fictional character and the protagonist from Monolith Soft's 2010 role-playing video game Xenoblade Chronicles, part of their overarching Xeno series of video games. Number 41! Are you serious! Shulk is one of the strongest characters of super smash bros. His counter attack is amazing! Low on hp? Use shield. Can't knock out your opponent? Use smash. Knocked out and can't get back to the arena? Use jump. Can't keep up with your opponent? Use speed. Wan't massive damage? Use buster or maybe smash. These are the Monado's power. Use this strategy and you will be really feeling it. Do I need to say more?
Who would say Shulk sucks? Shulk rocks! He can use Monado to get stronger.

He'd also be a big distraction to anyone that falls in love easily
You're kidding, right? As I write this he is ranked 23! Why? Marth is awesome! He is easily one of the most fun to play on Brawl. He is very quick and can get many attacks in, as well as dodge when necessary.
Now look, despite being clones, lucina is actually quite strong. However, Marth is not. One reason is he has a chance to self-destruct himself when you use his fs. Not only that but when you win as him, he says "Klau lo klanga"? Hey guys, don't blame me, that's literally the language the dude speaks. He is not handsome either
I love Marth as well! The way he fights kinda struck me as graceful! Not to mention he is really fast and flexible!
Pit is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Kid Icarus series, first appearing in Kid Icarus for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986 and later appearing in Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters for the Game Boy in 1991. He is my main and he is pretty powerful if you know how to use him, same with all the characters so there really isn't a bad character, nobody is a bad character, its just that people don't know how to use them.
This has been my main ever since the beginning of the game, and I don't think it will ever change. He is honestly really good and a pretty decent character if you want to learn all aspects in smash.
His moves and final smash are really effective and when he's off stage, his power of flight can always send him back on stage.
I agree I love how he moves and a bonus is that he can fly so, good melee and distance and flying!
Samus Aran is the protagonist of the science fiction action-adventure game series Metroid by Nintendo. A galactic bounty hunter, Samus is usually equipped with her Power Suit, giving her access to weapons she uses to battle her enemies. Samus is the best female character on Brawl. Seriosly, think about it. Peach is a ditzy, dumb, overly-girly princess who would rather put on makeup than fight. Samus, however, is a detirmined tomboy who shoots guns and kills monsters for a living. Zelda's okay, I guess, if you're into that kinda thing, but she gets kidnapped way too much for her to be a very srong and powerful character. Samus hasn't been kidnapped ONCE and she isn't the snobby, weak princess that can't defend herself (cough) Zelda (cough). Nana is cute. Nana is funny. But when you think about it, Nana isn't powerful. At all. And don't even get me started with Samus and power. You have to asume a woman who changes into a butt-kicking robot is pretty powerful. I don't suggest telling Samus she's weak or powerless. 'Cause if you do she and her shotgun might be the last thing you'll ever see...
Whoever said her up smash sucks should fall in the lava. Samus has powerful projectiles and she can grapple like link.
