Greatest Rock Voices

The Contenders: Page 4XW

61Ray Gillen

Ray is one of the best voices in Rock! It's a shame he left us so early... But his voice lives on even after 20 years!

Great range and soul, plus a good lyricist and front man. Check out his band "Badlands." You haven't heard of him cause he and his band wouldn't cowtow to Atlantic Records, not cause he wasn't amazing. (Same for Richie Kotzen, another musician's musican. )

Fantastic voice, great vocal range

wow you need to hear HIM is the best singer ever

He has an excellent voice very clearly with feeling and harmony

64Brent SmithBrent Stephen Smith is an American singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the band Shinedown.

Anyone who has seen him live knows why he should be first on this list.

Inredibly powerful voice. Ridiculous range and variation and is able to perfectly convey the emotions of the songs he sings. Deserves to be far higher on this list and would be if Shinedown were better recognised.

The first great rock and roll frontman with a distinctive and versatile voice, legend! - ConaghJMurphy

His voice was sex power. Really made the Rolling stones who they are. -

From a technical point of view...not the best or highest trained...what he lacks in technical perfection is more than make up for in raw emotion. listen to him in his prime. songs like off of my cloud, satisfaction, tumbling dice and wild horses

67Mike PattonMichael Allan "Mike" Patton is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, film composer, producer, and actor, best known as the lead singer of the alternative metal band Faith No More.

Is there anyone more intricate, interesting, beautiful and cool vocal than Patton? Is already a legend. Just ask Axl Rose..

I don't understand why my beloved Adam Gontier is at 74. He has such a dynamic, amazing voice, and if you listen to any of his songs, you'll agree that an artist like himself should be ranked higher.

He must be ranked higher. Yes, I know his live performace is not so great, but dude just listen to his songs, he's amazing. - Craym

72Art GarfunkelArthur Ira "Art" Garfunkel is an American singer, poet and actor. He partnered in his earlier years with Paul Simon in the folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel.

Truly a great voice. His voice seems far better suited to pop than to rock, though.

73Corey TaylorCorey Todd Taylor was born in December 8, 1973. He is an American musician, author, and actor best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the Nu-metal band Slipknot and hard rock/alternative metal band Stone Sour.

Has everything required of a rock superstar, great tone throughout a huge registrar. Words along cannot describe his gift, you have to hear it to believe it, number one rock singer in the world and a great modern day showman. Pure class

Should be placed in the top 5, currently the lead for slipknot and stone sour. Amazing singer!

His voice is amazing I think he should atleas be somewhere around the top 20 because like he has a pretty good range for a guy, and he has so many different kinds of voices he can do. SLIPKNOT FOR LIFE!

Hear the voice, the range, the quality, and the scream... He should be up there.. Stryper was and is one of the best bands out there...

Those who actually know anything about singing would agree that he belongs.

Michael Sweet sounds just as good live as he does on record. That says a lot. I think he is the BEST vocalist for rock music.

David Gilmour's voice (and his guitar, obviously) and Pink Floyd's music just caress my soul. When I listen to him sing, (and play his guitar) I feel like all my troubles have vanished. Go Floyd!

David's voice is unique he doesn't go high but his tone is great

Pink Floyd - an awesome band with a great, great singer -David Gilmour.

79Robin Zander

The voice behind Cheap Trick is also the "Man of a 1000 Voices." Do yourself a favor and listen to him sing. You won't be disappointed.

If I was starting a band this would be my singer. He can sing rock, he can sing pop, and he can sing a ballad like no one else.

Top of the list, please. I love Steve Perry and mean no disrespect, but Robin is still touring and still singing!

He's past 50, but he still sounds as great as ever. One of the truly best of all time. - FearlessFreep
