Top Ten Best Rides at Thorpe Park

Welcome to Thorpe Park! Which is your favourite ride?
The Top Ten
SAW - The Ride

I love this ride so much. It was my first inverted rollercoaster when I was 10, and it was so intense! Yes, there is a little of Gerstlauer's headbanging, but the indoor section and that amazing drop straight into the second inversion make it all worth it.

I also like how it's the only big coaster in the park that doesn't have seatbelts on the restraints. It really adds to the scariness of the whole ride, in my opinion!

The biggest drop goes super high and vertical as you go up, then goes over the top and plummets down as it curves in, sweeps back up again, and rounds! It's the most thrilling ride, and I highly recommend it!

Stealth

Accelerates so fast and has a unique feeling from all the other rides, as though you have been yanked and are being dragged through the entire track. You can't feel your legs either! Out-of-this-world sensation!

Before I went on it, I wouldn't dream of going on it. Definitely make sure you ride it!

My cousin was sitting next to me and closed her eyes throughout the whole ride. When she thought the ride had finished, she opened her eyes to find that she was right at the top of Stealth and went WHOOSH when she went down!

Stealth is an amazing ride and makes you cry at the end!

The Swarm

When I was right at the end of the queue, there was a malfunction, and half the queue left. We thought it would be okay, so when we were at the front of the queue, right about to go on, there was another malfunction. I got really freaked out.

When we went on the ride, I completely forgot everything and just let myself be free! It is an amazing ride, and I really do recommend you try it out, even if you don't like scary rides. My cousin, who is a total wimp and hates scary rides, still went on the Swarm and loved it!

Colossus

Colossus deserves to be at the top of the list. It tends to be slammed because it's rough and bangs the rider's head. However, this is only the case if you are seated at the back of the train.

Colossus delivers fun-packed, intense thrills throughout all of its ten inversions (let's not forget that it was the first in the world to have that number). It has rich, inventive theming, lots of inversions, and even a little airtime!

A real high point for Colossus is the heart line rolls, which conclude the rollercoaster and provide a fun, adrenaline-filled ending to an iconic rollercoaster worldwide.

While Colossus may not have the sheer height of Stealth or the fear factor of Saw, it still has winding inversions, delivering thrills and building up adrenaline that keeps riders talking about it for days on end.

Nemesis Inferno

Before I went on this, I was shaking, but I decided that if I didn't go on it, I would have missed out. So, I went on it anyway. Now it is my favorite ride at Thorpe Park, and I go on it every time I visit. I thoroughly recommend it, as it is not as terrifying as it seems, and it is definitely worth it.

I have been on all of the rides about ten times or so, but some of them do get boring. Swarm, after riding it this many times, only appeals to me backwards. However, Nemesis never gets old. The drop, the backflip, the cave, and the numerous corkscrews... Wow, it's incredible. Bonus that it normally has a short queue.

Tidal Wave

The best ride ever at Thorpe Park on a really hot day. Normal waiting times are 2 hours+, but when I went, there was no waiting time. The splash was epic and thoroughly soaked by the wave. A good ride for junior thrill seekers.

It's like a giant tsunami coming closer to you. While coming back down, you get wet, not just you, but everyone waiting in line, walking past, and on the ride!

Why is this so low? This is the greatest Thorpe Park ride ever for junior thrill seekers. There is only one dip, and although it is quite high, it is worth the wait. At the end, you get soaked to the bone, so it is a great ride for a really hot day.

The only thing wrong about it is that it isn't in my bedroom or my garden.

X: No Way Out

I didn't like X No Way Out, but when it turned to X, it was better because it went forward, and it was like a rollercoaster going through a nightclub. A good ride for kids and adults.

Why is X so low? Give it some help. It's great. You can rave in the line while waiting, and it's got strobe lighting! Although, in my opinion, Saw - The Ride is the BEST!

Rush

Rush is totally awesome. It is like an insane pirate ship ride but twice the speed and triple the intensity! It is astounding and a great fun ride to definitely ride on the day!

It's quite fast and adrenaline-pumping but is definitely a very good sky swing.

Samurai

It is so awesome. It is like you are flying but going upside down instead.

Detonator

It's scary. However, it's even scarier when the guy controlling the ride decides to let the timer go "5... 4... 3... WOOOSH" DOWN! It was funny and scary because normally it goes down to "1..." then we plummet. Whoever did that is a genius.

You can't hear the countdown from the top, and it's very scary.

Lasts around 10 seconds but is still worth doing. The contents of your stomach will flip.

The Newcomers

? Storm in a Teacup

The Contenders
Zodiac
Slammer

Slammer is by far my favorite non-rollercoaster ride. It's epic!

Vortex
Mr. Monkey's Banana Ride
Flying Fish
Derren Brown's Ghost Train
The Walking Dead: The Ride

Amazing ride! The walk and run to the actual ride are great as you feel like zombies are going to jump out at you! When you get on, the carriage can hold about 16 people. I was with my mum and two friends, and although there were other people in our group, they made the four of us go by ourselves, which made it much scarier.

Especially when you exit the ride and there are zombies chasing you, the fewer people there are, the more the zombies focus on you!

Depth Charge

Fun for people who can't go on many rides because of motion sickness!

Great ride. It has a small queue and is very speedy. It's definitely an underrated ride.

Loggers Leap

Loggers Leap is awesome, a really high, fun ride with a great splash at the end. It's like Tidal Wave but through better scenery. EPIC!

King Pig's Wild Hog Dodgems
Angry Birds 4D Experience
Wet Wet Wet

It is perfect for little adventurers, as they love to splash around and play in the water.
