Top 10 Most Annoyingly OP Anime Characters
For those who don't know, OP means overpowered. Usually, the main character is super strong and can't be beaten. Yet, the reason why they're powerful isn't explained or is explained poorly.
There are some characters that make you not care about the fight because you already know they're going to win. I am going to include two characters from the same show because I feel like I would be lying to myself if I didn't.
This is my opinion, and you're free to add your own submissions. I realize there are a lot of overpowered characters out there, and I can't think of everyone. So, here we go.

Ayato Amagiri (The Asterisk War)
Follow up on my last comment: At least with Kirito, another character that is annoyingly overpowered and something I would call a Wish Fulfillment protagonist, I never felt like Kirito was bland in any way. There are some moments that I can sympathize with his character in some points in SAO.
Ayato? I feel nothing for him. He's just a boring character who is stupidly overpowered, and I feel nothing when it comes to him. Overpowered characters are annoying, but if they lack personality or are just really bland, that makes things worse and hard to even care about what is going on with the said character.
From The Asterisk War. One of the most boring and cliché anime ever brought about this character. In the first episode, he makes the fifth strongest fighter at the school look like a weakling. He blocks all her attacks, doesn't burn any of his clothes when caught in an explosion, and saves her from an assassin.
In episode five, he loses to the most powerful fighter in the school because he was distracted and forgot the battle rules. In episode seven, he defeats that same opponent and becomes ranked number one at his school. In episode two, he tames the most powerful weapon the school has, and he hasn't done any training before entering the school.
Not only is he so OP that he defeats two tournament fighters with one slash, but his personality is also extremely generic. He's a nice guy who gets all the ladies. He's basically every harem male lead ever.

Shiba Tatsuya (The Irregular at Magic High School)
Shiba Tatsuya is so aggravating to watch as a character. He's always there for women to fawn over, he's doing everything effortlessly, and everybody is amazed by him. I have never felt tension when watching this anime because of this one character.
He's always around, and we never really get to see what the other characters are like. His sister loving him is also very creepy. Her saying onii-sama got very annoying when she kept repeating it, like when Misa Amane kept saying Misa-Misa.
Honestly, this is the only OP character on the list I'm conflicted with. Sure, he's badass and all (which is the only thing I like about him, but that's it). However, his lack of emotion and the fact that he barely struggles to win a fight make it hard for me to like him.
I can at least defend Kirito's case as to why he's not a Gary Stu since he said that he's level-grinded many times in the game. He knows how to play SAO like a pro since he played the beta and got further than any other beta tester (prepare for a NICE, LONG HQ post defending him in the future). Hell, kill me if I could even defend Ayato (because I know how much the anime community hates him to the point he's hated more than Kirito) more than Tatsuya.
Say what you want about their character development or them being overpowered, but in my opinion, at least they didn't feel like total robots (again, just my opinion). I mean, seriously, it's pretty hard for me to defend Tatsuya given that he acts like a robot. This isn't helped by the fact that he acts exactly like one at one point when he gets back up and reboots himself like one!
Also, I can agree that he usually took up most of the spotlight, which never let the other supporting characters I wanted to see develop. This really let me down considering that they could have gotten more screen time and development than SAO's supporting characters had there not been too much focus on him.
Sorry, but I don't think I could ever defend Tatsuya Shiba.

Kirigaya Kazuto (Sword Art Online)
Kazuto Kirigaya is a fictional character in the Sword Art Online light novel series written by Reki Kawahara. He is better known by his avatar name, Kirito. As the central character, he navigates life-threatening virtual worlds in a story that blends action, drama, and romance.
Everyone should have seen this coming. He's notoriously known throughout the anime community as a Gary Stu and OP character. He came back from the dead through sheer will at the end of the Aincrad Arc, despite the nerve gear being designed to fry your brain as soon as your health reaches zero.
Then there's the fact he took on seven guys without breaking a sweat. His character does not evolve. He got people killed because of his mistakes, and in the next episode, he's helping Silica like nothing happened. Then Kirito is told by the villain that in six days he'll rape Asuna, yet he spends time doing nothing. He knows where Asuna is and characters can fly in the game. Why wasn't he trying to get there as soon as possible?
Suguha has to go and defend her race and tells Kirito to go along without her. He doesn't and decides to help her. He doesn't even know how long this is going to take, and he's okay with it?

Bell Cranel (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?)
Yet again, another character who has a cliché personality and wins his fights. The Minotaur, Goliath, Silverback Gorilla, etc. All the girls practically fawn over him despite not knowing much or anything about him. Some even shove his face in their breasts.
He doesn't change as a character and isn't very interesting.
Same protagonist found in every harem story, coupled with terrible writing.
Another run-of-the-mill OP anime protagonist. Somehow, some basic fandom outcast gets a good item from a world-renowned maker, gets really powerful, teams up with some girls, and then even more girls want to be with him!
Basically, he has no personality and hasn't worked to get to where he is at all.

Natsu Dragneel (Fairy Tail)
Natsu Dragneel is a Mage of the Fairy Tail Guild. He is known for his carefree and reckless nature, and while he frequently gets into brawls with other guild members, he is deeply loyal and protective of his friends.
Natsu is always ready to fight for those he cares about, no matter how hopeless... read more
Yeah, Fairy Tail was boring and repetitive to me. Natsu's overpowered strength didn't help in the slightest. He never loses important fights, and when he wins, it's usually through the Power of Friendship.
It's human nature to lose every once in a while, but when a character feels more like a tool than a human, it makes me care about this character less.

Orochimaru (Naruto)

Why won't you just die? I know you started off as a great villain, but it's time to move on. He has an arsenal of ninjas doing his bidding and many abilities, yet when it seems like he'll die, he just keeps coming back.
It doesn't even matter if he's completely destroyed, he can come back to life anyway using Living Corpse Reincarnation. It's so annoying. He became less of a villain and more of a nuisance.

Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan)
Mikasa Ackerman is a fictional character in the manga and anime series Attack on Titan, also known by its Japanese title Shingeki no Kyojin. Created by Hajime Isayama, she is one of the main characters and serves as a close companion and protector of Eren Jaeger. Mikasa is known for her exceptional combat... read more
If anything, Eren's OP, but I wouldn't say Mikasa is.
If Eren dies, Mikasa becomes super strong because of her Ackerman power.
-
Tatsumi (Akame ga Kill!)
At least Akame had somewhat of a personality. Tatsumi was the harem protagonist lead. He got all the women, he was so OP, and survived because he was the main character. I will say I'm glad he at least married the woman he loved, but I still never cared about this guy because I was never given any reason to.
-
Akame (Akame ga Kill!)
Akame, also known as Akame of the Demon Sword Murasame, is the titular deuteragonist alongside Tatsumi and the lead anti-heroine of the manga series Akame ga Kill!. She is also the main protagonist of the prequel manga Akame ga Kill! Zero. Akame is a highly skilled assassin known for her stoicism and... read more
Was anyone surprised that Akame didn't die in Akame Ga Kill? Maybe it's because her name is in the title. This anime already suffered from shock value and killing off characters as soon as their backstory was revealed. Six Night Raid members are killed, and yet I was never once worried about Akame because of how strong she is.
True, it didn't help that her name was in the title, so she was better off, but it didn't really make me care for the character because I was never worried about her.

His show is based on the fact that he's OP. Of course, Super gave him god powers, so now he's entered a realm that is beyond OP. Such a boring guy.
If you're not a Saiyan, you're nothing in DBZ and DBS.

OP characters need badassery to have some sort of appeal. Saitama sadly fails at it.

This guy is from Chaos Dragon, a very boring anime with a 5/10 score on MyAnimeList. The main character's OP power is, get this, killing someone else by killing your friend. Who thought that was a good idea?
What's worse is that people seem generally okay with him killing them just so he can use his power, even though he never knew most of these people or didn't know them very well. He never dies throughout this anime because of that one special power. He's also very annoying because he's a big crybaby. Ergh...
-
Medaka Kurokami (Medaka Box)
She was just very generic and seemed like a contrived character. She looks down on others, yet she believes in the good in them. What sense does that make?
Her abilities are many and make her super powerful: superhuman physiology, advanced growth rate, combat expertise, etc. I know some people like her, and that's fine, but I just couldn't.
I hated this character. She feels like that stereotypical anime student council president that should be a side character. NOPE, she's the protagonist. Her quips are beyond terrible.
-
Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail)
Erza Scarlet is an S-Class Mage from the infamous magic guild Fairy Tail. She starts off as a lone wolf who strictly follows the rules. As the story develops, Erza changes into a loving, strong, and independent mage.
Her terrible past haunts her, and she initially ignores her nakama's calls for... read more
She used to be written really well, especially during the Tower of Heaven arc. But now, Mashima is making Erza pull random armors out of nowhere, and he continuously makes her wear the Clear Heart outfit, which isn't even her strongest armor.
Somehow, she was able to defeat a demon whose strength increases every second and had each of her five senses stolen from her. Oh, and of course, the explanation for that is because "she's Erza."
The power of friendship ruined her character.
