Top 10 Most Misused Dragon Ball Characters

The Top Ten
Trunks Trunks is an anime fictional character from the anime series, Dragon Ball Z, created by Akira Toriyama.
Yamcha Yamcha (ヤムチャ, Yamucha) is a Bandit and a main protagonist in the Dragon Ball manga and in the anime Dragon Ball, and later a supporting protagonist in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super, with a few appearances in Dragon Ball GT. He has black hair and has a scar across his eye and cheek.

Poor Yamcha. Never catches a break. Toriyama could at least give him a girl so we'd know he's happy and settled down, but no... Yamcha doesn't even get that.

He was a badass in Dragon Ball... What HAPPENED?!?!
Is this why he's so hated? Because his character was screwed up? That's not his fault. He had so much potential, but no... MAKE WAY FOR THE SAIYANS!

What happened to this character?! He had a well-established personality and story arc, but no...

Everyone is saying the exact same phrase regarding Yamcha:
What happened?

Vegeta Vegeta is an anime fictional character from the anime series, Dragon Ball Z, created by Akira Toriyama.

Only misused when it comes to battle. Making him so weak against enemies makes zero sense most of the time, especially with how hard he trains. But it works for Vegeta. People fall in love more because we see him defeated but not give up, and we all want to be like that. We can relate to that.

He trains harder than anyone, yet he is always weaker than Goku and sometimes even Gohan. He trained his whole life to be the strongest, however, even two kids (Goten and Trunks) train for 15 days in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and fuse to achieve Super Saiyan 3. That is not fair.

Bulma Bulma is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball manga series created by Akira Toriyama. Bulma is the most significant female character in the series.

Although she was supposedly a brilliant scientist, most of her work was conducted off-screen. On-screen, she was treated as a joke and was often depicted doing inexplicably dumb things, especially during filler segments. It's as if the writers were paranoid that their mostly male audience would not like seeing a woman portrayed as intelligent and were determined to pander to this as much as possible by making Bulma an idiot any time the plot didn't require otherwise.

She should have been smart all the time, not just when it made for a convenient plot device.

Gohan Son Gohan is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball manga series created by Akira Toriyama. Gohan is introduced as the first son of the protagonist Goku, and his wife Chi-Chi, in chapter #196 Kakarrot, first published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on October 24, 1988. Chi-Chi is a strict and protective... read more

After the Cell Saga and then the Buu Saga, they turned him into a nerdy, non-training, almost pacifist character. He had the potential to completely carry on Goku's legacy and even surpass him. Instead, he is usually easily beaten, never again achieving greatness as a fighter. Considering he was the strongest fighter at 9 years old compared to Goku and Vegeta, who trained their whole lives to get where they are, it's disappointing. Then, boom, they both simply pass him up, even though the older he got, the more powerful he could have become.

You don't make a character your favorite badass and then turn him into a token punching bag while making Trunks and Goten even more powerful at a younger age. There's a reason the Cell Saga remains the best saga among the people I know.

Android 18

I love that Krillin finally got to have a family, but if 18 was going to stay in the series, I think she should have gotten a little more involvement in the action, especially since she's probably stronger than Krillin.

She immediately became a housewife after the Cell Saga despite being the strongest DBZ female character.

Tien Town is an anime fictional character from the anime series, Dragon Ball Z, created by Akira Toriyama.

He is more dedicated to his training than Goku and Vegeta, yet he is still weak.

I love Tien, and I wish he wasn't always partnered up with that loser, Yamcha.

Launch Launch is an anime fictional character from the anime series, Dragon Ball Z, created by Akira Toriyama.

She was not even in the anime of Dragon Ball Z. Or at least in Kai she wasn't. In the original, however, I think she was used for filler.

Raditz Raditz is an anime fictional character from the anime series, Dragon Ball Z, created by Akira Toriyama.

Raditz is one of the best characters in the show, yet very misused. He calls his brother a disgrace to their race for becoming soft and part of Earth's population, yet he is shown to be a coward in the face of death while other Saiyans aren't afraid of dying, making him somewhat of a hypocrite. Plus, he's evil and brutal with little to no redeeming qualities, which kind of ruins his character.

He should have had more positive qualities and come back with a change of heart.

I really like Raditz. He's my favorite character. I hate that they killed him off so soon. It would have been nice if they could have brought him back and given him a second chance. He's Goku's brother, for God's sake! Vegeta was bad at first but changed as the saga went on. Raditz should have had that same chance.

Goten Goten is an anime fictional character from the anime series, Dragon Ball Z, created by Akira Toriyama.

He and Kid Trunks became Super Saiyans at a very young age. Then, they slacked off despite being way more powerful than their dads when they were the same age.

The Newcomers

? Marron Marron is an anime fictional character from the anime series, Dragon Ball Z, created by Akira Toriyama.

Green-haired Bulma look-alike who is also a gold digger! But unlike Bulma, who always saved her money, even if she's rich and cares for others, Maron kept money but used men to spend theirs. Glad Krillin dumped her.

Piccolo Jr. (Kamiccolo)

He was misused as he was supposed to be the savior after Goku taught Goten and Trunks the fusion dance. He wasted his fusion time and got separated.

His writing is trash, to be honest, and it could've been a lot better.
