Top 10 Saddest Deaths in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

The Top Ten
1 Caesar Zeppeli

I liked his character, but that aside, the death was just really well done. It's hard not to cry.

My bubble boy! I cried a lot when he died! This baby deserved better and should have had babies with Joseph Joestar.

This was the saddest death, in my opinion. He was crushed by a cross-looking part of the roof while giving his Hamon to Joseph, and the SHIZAA scream.

2 Iggy

Normally, Iggy's death wasn't as brutal, but it was still kind of sad. If we're talking about the OVA, though, this might be number one.

By far, this was the most brutal death any of the main cast received in all of JoJo.

3 Jotaro Kujo Jotaro Kujo is a fictional character from the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga series created by Hirohiko Araki and is the delinquent protagonist of Stardust Crusaders .

He chose his daughter over the universe. How can I not cry?

This character chose his daughter, and he will always be remembered. We honor your services, Jotaro.

4 Muhammad Avdol

His first 'death' was devastating because Polnareff thought it was his fault, and that must've been really hard on him. Shame he got 'resurrected' as though his death was nothing. It turned from touching to an insult way too quickly. The sentiment went from 'He sacrificed himself for Polnareff, and Polnareff was reasonably upset,' to 'Polnareff's sadness was worthless because he didn't actually sacrifice himself at all.' I liked Avdol, but treating such a serious death as some sort of 'joke' is downright insulting. It also made his real death feel like nothing because I assumed he was just going to magically resurrect again.

5 Jonathan Joestar

It was done in such a heart-wrenching way, and to the kindest, most respectful JoJo. I could write a whole essay on why Jonathan is simply the best character and why I respect him so much. The way the death was handled, combined with Jonathan's personality, made me really sad he wouldn't be in any future episodes.

He was a Chad and respected everyone, including Dio, even after what he did. It was sad how he died hugging Dio's head, and yet Dio had the audacity to steal his body and have a whole child.

Jonathan was a gentle man. He always chose the right path, but... a head killed Jonathan.

6 Joseph Joestar Joseph Joestar is a fictional character from the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga series created by Hirohiko Araki.
7 Danny (Jonathan's Dog)

While Jonathan was having everyone hate him, Danny stood by his side before being ruthlessly killed.

It was just the first death of the show. Pretty sad.

8 Noriaki Kakyoin

The fact that he had found friends who understood him after 17 years, and only for 50 days, and then he died, makes it even sadder. His parents didn't even know that he went to Egypt or that he had died. They thought he had run away from home and would probably still be looking for him now. I can't even look at a donut anymore without crying.

In my opinion, he was the closest to Jotaro because they were both students. His parents thought he ran away from home, while in actuality, he went to help someone's mother he didn't even know well.

9 Shigekiyo Yangu

He tried until the very end to expose Kira, but what really made me cry was when he floated across the sky, screaming in agony and pain while being disintegrated. And the saddest part was that if the schoolgirls hadn't judged Shigechi by his looks, he would have been alive.

He died after having made only two friends in his entire life, following 13 years of loneliness.

He only wanted to protect his mom and dad. But he was also just a kid.

10 Rohan

His first death was sudden and shocking. He had no clue he could die until seconds before his back exploded. After that, he was left crawling on the ground, helpless, thinking about how he had failed to catch Kira and how he wouldn't be able to draw manga anymore as he slowly died from his wounds. Then the gang shows up. Rohan and the audience gain some hope that he could be saved, or at least get the word out that Kira was now under the identity of Hayato's dad. But then it was too late. As he calls for help, the final bomb of Bites the Dust goes off, and he is dead.

Then hope is given again to the audience: he might live, as Hayato is sent back in time and is determined to change fate. But that wasn't what happened. Instead, Rohan died again, this time even more shockingly, as he dies not even knowing how or why. He dies the exact same way, but this time without a clue. And even if he did know about how he did it last time by finding out Kira's identity, it would still be more sad and terrifying to him than the first, as this time he has no control over whether he dies or not. After that, you see Reimi, one of the few people he was actually close with, watch his spirit fly up, bursting into flames and screaming as he slowly cracks apart, convincing the audience even more that his death might be permanent.

The Contenders
11 Leone Abbacchio

He died for the mission and got his redemption. He was a good man, even if he didn't realize it.

Pretty cool death, and Leone did deserve it, but Nathan's reaction was something else.

12 Bruno Buccellati

He was the heart of Part 5 and my number one favorite JoJo character. He passed the crown to Giorno in the end.

He destroyed his own soul to kill Silver Chariot Requiem. Also, throughout the entire series, he's basically the mom of the other four idiots (excluding Giorno).

13 Gyro Zeppeli
14 Narancia Ghirga

Why is Joseph's death (which never happened) ranked before my boy Narancia's death?

15 Jean Pierre Polnareff
16 Speedwagon
17 Chibi
18 William Anthonio Zeppeli
19 Jolyne Cujoh
20 Wamuu

Not the most sad death, but he was honorable until the end. Even if he was evil, his goals did not define him, but rather how he tried to achieve them.

I admit, I kind of rooted for him during the last fight.

21 Johnny Joestar
22 Dio

His death isn't even sad, though. Not only has he done so many terrible things to deserve what he gets, but the death itself is just Dio yelling "KONO DIO DAAAAAAA!" while Jotaro's theme plays and then Dio explodes.

23 Weather Report
24 Yoshikage Kira Yoshikage Kira is the main antagonist from the manga JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable written by Araki Hirohiko.

I must admit, I was rooting for him during all of Part 4. He was just some sad, terrible dude who wanted a peaceful life and hands.
He deserved what he got, don't get me wrong, but it still made me a little sad.
