Top 10 Awesome Disney Movies That a Lot of People HateThese movies are the bomb! But not everyone seems to agree.
The Top Ten
Wow! This is probably one of the most hated movies these days. When this movie first came out, it was rare to hear people say that they hate it. These days, it's rare to hear people say that they like it. Yes, it's everywhere and the songs are overplayed but that doesn't make it a bad movie. People say the story doesn't make much sense and the songs are annoying but Hercules makes even less sense and the songs (except one) are beyond terrible and yet people seem to like that movie even though it sucks, big time. The songs in Frozen are pretty good. Let it Go is still one of my favorites because Idina Menzel sings it and it reminds me of Defying Gravity from Wicked. For the First Time in Forever is pretty good too and Kristen Bell is a good singer. The characters are likeable but I will admit, Hans being the villain was very predictable. I saw it coming from the moment he first appeared on screen. Olaf is very funny and enjoyable. Very awesome movie but still one problem. How did Elsa ...more - MegaSoulhero
Standalone, unbiased, I feel as though Frozen is a film that is very hard to hate-hate. For one thing, it isn't The Cat In The Hat or The Last Airbender kind of "bad". Like those movies are the realest bad of all cinematic bads, and Frozen is just not as bad in terms of writing, directing, casting, and effects - at least, I see no reason to loathe it like those atrocities. it also sticks to the Disney formula, so it wouldn't make sense to hate it much more than any other princess movie. I suppose the story is messy (who even is the protagonist? And is Hans, Weaselton, Elsa or the snow marshmallow the antagonist? ), but it makes up for it with plot driving songs and the innocuous fun that Disney has always promised.
In the end, at least the animation is beautiful. I feel like that's as close to indisputably "good" this film gets. - keycha1n
Even though the merchandising has gone insane, and the songs feel more annoying the more you listen to it. But this movie can't be worse than Cat In The Hat or The Last Airbender. If you think this movie is worse than please go educate yourself on film making. - poopmckenzie
This film is just hated cause it's overrated...
I went to see this film and it is crap, the acting was painfully annoying and the "songs" were so painfully generic and earraping that they made every Atlantis Squarepantis song feel like Pink Floyd.
The plot twist at the end was unsurprising and predictable, so of course it decides to use the sexism route and depict females as the smarty-panties and the males as useless pricks.
I wish this film would just die, people have forgotten about all those amazing films (like Toy Story 3 from Pixar or Wreck-It-Ralph from the same animation studio) and instead rely on this piece of retarded crap.
The next time I hear "Let It Go" I am going to shoot myself out of a cannon and straight into a pit of spikes. - KennyRulz244444
I have read many comments on YouTube regarding Episode VII. A majority of those commenters didn't like this movie. Some of them said is was worse than the prequels. Most the hate comes from the fact that this movie uses too many elements from Episode IV. That's the only reason I can think of but who cares? For a while people said Disney would ruin Star Wars. First of all, Disney doesn't make the new Star Wars movies, they just distribute them. Second of all, ever since Disney bought Marvel, those movies have been doing pretty well. The Force Awakens is definitely the triumphant return of Star Wars. There are still plenty of people who liked this movie, including me. Rey is hot, BB-8 is funny, Finn is awesome, and Poe is beyond awesome. In my opinion, this was the best movie of 2015 and the second best Star Wars movie. Thank you and may the force be with you. - MegaSoulhero
Everybody seems so disappointed in the The Force Awakens all because Disney did this blah blah blah, and Disney does that.
One of the best movies of all time. I was sad when Han Solo died, but other than that it was perfect. I don't care if the story wasn't original.
I didn't like this one THAT MUCH. It certainly lacked in character development, but other than that it was good - Nayan2003
Say what you wanna say, and let your words fall out, honestly, I wanna see you love Brave. I'm not saying this is among the greatest Pixar movies, but I still liked it. The relationship between Merida and Elanor reminds me of the relationship between my sister and my mother, except the part where Elanor turns into a bear. I also like how adventurous Merida is, even though she doesn't do much adventuring in the movie. There also seems to be more adult jokes in this one than other Pixar movies. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't surprised that it won it Oscar. I honestly think the Oscar should've gone to Wreck-it Ralph. However, it's still a good movie. Also, I'm convinced the witch in this movie is Boo from Monsters Inc. she has a wood carving a Sully after all. - MegaSoulhero
The problem was Brave took the Oscar away from Wreck-It Ralph. That is all. - keyson
I've never understood people absolutely hating this film. Is it Pixar at it's strongest? No. But it is still highly enjoyable and has some great moments. It's also great to see a mother daughter relationship, because you never see that from Pixar. Far from the best, but also far from the worst. - Elric-san
I love Brave as an experience, and the visuals are stunning, but I admit the story gets a little out of hand. Like the writers must've been really high one day when they were bouncing around the idea of bear magic, because the plot makes no sense. What is this witch's backstory? Why does Merida request a potion so vaguely? what was that whole thing with the tapestry and why was that the only solution to not be a bear anymore? What happens to the three brothers? And how does becoming a bear by Merida's own carelessness show to her mother that she has the responsibility to govern her life rationally? - keycha1n
Merida is the second Disney female to have her mother present in a movie with her through out the whole thing, despite being turned into a bear. This is my favorite Pixar movie and I don't think people can say they hate it because it has so much real life experiences presented in the movie. - TiannaBossChix
Oh, shoot. Here come The Lion King haters. They're just as worse as Sword Art Online haters. Let me tell you a few things, TLK haters. First, you guys barely give little to no reason as to why people should hate the movie. Second, fans already know about the hyena stereotypes, so get over it. I hate the animal stereotypes too, but it is not enough to make people hate this movie. Third, stop forcing your opinions down our throats on people who love the movie. So shut up, haters! You've ruined this list with your annoying hate comments like Sword Art Online haters did with that 107 Facts You Should Know About Sword Art Online video! - ModernSpongeBobSucks
I know what Sword Art Online is (of course, am fond of the anime/game side of popular culture, sue me). No other movie or such are worse or have worse tropes than The Lion King, so what you've said is only your personal opinion and not the truth.
Heck, I can argue that The Lion King is basically a worse version of all other animated movies combined, not the better that you all mistaken it as.
The film has also been criticized for advancing a fascist narrative in its portrayal of the lion kingdom and the circle of life where only the strong and the beautiful triumph, and the powerless survive only by serving the strong.
This movie is a classic. I mean who would hate this movie. In order to love it, you have to really sit down and enjoy this movie. It has so many meanings to it and it shows so many aspects on life in a animal world. Far most the best movie ever. - TiannaBossChix
This was probably Pixar's biggest bomb. I can kinda see why but I thought this was an enjoyable movie. I had a really easy time connecting with the characters and I felt bad for Arlo when he was separated from his family. I also love the relationship between Arlo and Spot, especially when Spot finds his family. That scene doesn't have dialogue but I could still feel their emotion. You know, now that I think about it, this movie is kind of similar to both The Lion King and The Land Before Time. - MegaSoulhero
I'm probably the only one here that actually likes The Good Dinosaur. Sure, Toy Story and Inside Out are better, but I really enjoyed watching The Good Dinosaur. I thought the animation and the second half of the story were enjoyable, and I cried at the end of the movie and at the stick scene. - anonygirl
People hate this? Even the trailer was fascinating! I loved this movie so much!
It got so much hate for being too unrealistic.
It was too unrealistic because it violated the events of the past, in real life, a comet hit the Earth and later on the Dinosaurs went extinct, but this did not happen in this movie, it shows you that they're taking fiction too far. - nelsonerica
No, the hate isn't about Sonic. If anything, I've only seen complaints that Sonic wasn't in it enough. Which brings me to the real source of the hate: everyone just wanted or was expecting a big crossover involving their favorite game characters, didn't even have to be coherent as long as it was non-stop characters and references like "The Lego Movie". But they got an actual plot centered on the original characters and the "game jumping" ended fifteen minutes in for the sake of said actual plot, therefore it "sucks".
This movie is all about being rejected and working your way back up to the top. I see no reason for hate. - Perrywinks
One of my favorites - insanefangirl
The hate comes from the fact that Sonic made too many cameos. He shouldn't be in a Disney movie. At least Shadow the Hedgehog didn't appear in the film (what an overrated little --- he is) but I still worry about the sequel.
I love Bolt! Wait, Miley Cyrus was in this movie? I never knew. Still, it shouldn't keep people from enjoying a great movie! - ModernSpongeBobSucks
The first time I saw it was in theaters in Kindergarten during after school care (back in Kindergarten and first grade they used to take the kids on some field trips that were cool). - Anonymousxcxc
One of my favorite cartoons. Why do people hate it? Just because Miley Cyrus was in this movie? Wow, grow up people, it's a great movie!
It was such a cute movie I watched this when I was a child :,)
38% on Rotten Tomatoes? I will admit, this movie has problems like Kenai turning into a bear and the voice actor for Koda being annoying, but that didn't really ruin the movie for me. The humor is pretty good, the songs (except for one) are pretty good, and the animation is, well, pretty good. Never watched the sequel but I'm sure it sucks like the other Disney sequels. - MegaSoulhero
This, Gordy, and Oliver & Company are the most underrated Disney movies ever! Each one has a great story and is heartwarming! People need to realize that it doesn't have to be famous or popular to be great! If you haven't watched this or Gordy yet, please do! They are both on Netflix.
I absolutely love this film. Saw it in theatres back in 2003 and the general dislike people have for this film is not understood by me. Sure, it's no 'Beauty and the Beast' or 'The Lion King' but it's solid, warm, funny, and beautifully animated. - BKAllmighty
This is my one of my favorite childhood movies, it shows how you need to accept they way you are and enjoy life to the fullest. The sequel wasn't as good but it was watchable. - TiannaBossChix
What time is it? Avenger time! Sorry for that dumb overused joke. Now, the first Avengers movie was mostly about getting the heroes to settle their differences and work together to save the world. In this one, they have gotten better at working together and there are even parts of the movie where we see them do more bonding. The action is also very outstanding. We even find out that Clint Barton is married to Wendy from Gravity Falls. So yeah, this movie is better than the first one. The funniest part in the first one was the puny god scene and the funniest part in this one was Vision picking up the hammer. - MegaSoulhero
This move was awesome. It wasn't as good as the first though. So sad when Quicksilver died. I'd rather see Hawkeye die but he is married so that can't happen. Not a fan of Black Wiidow and Hulk. Not a huge fan of how the Avengers disassembled in the end.
People hate this movie? Yikes I love this film
Just how can you on this - BARDOCK
Why do people not like this?! This is one of the best movies I've ever seen in my entire life! People are always picking on the underrated Disney movies that aren't as famous like this and Brother Bear! It's insane! This movie shows how even when life looks dim, you'll always find friends to have your back! People don't realize it was actually THIS movie that lead us to The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Tangled, and Frozen! This movie is a one of a kind!
I haven't seen anyone that hates this movie. - nintendofan126
What is this lovely thing doing here? - keyson
I love this movie - YOUnique253
People hate this because it's too episodic and disjointed. But Alice in Wonderland is also loyal to its source material, beautifully animated, has a killer soundtrack as well as so many amazing characters. A true masterpeice - AngyC
I am one of the only Disney lovers who really loves Cars. I love all Pixar movies. Cars is just a fun ride and really enjoyable movie, and I just really understand the hate. It's definitely not as bad as that one that we'll never talk of. - DisneyLover19
I am probably one of the only people on this website who actually likes Cars. Of course, movies such as Toy Story and Monsters Inc. are better, but Cars was an enjoyable movie for me. Now here's the real issue: Can you really call it bad compared to its sequel? - ModernSpongeBobSucks
I vote for frozen because it way more hate than cars but to be honest this is my favorite pixar movie and also one of my favorite animated of all time and the sequel is ok but not that bad - Thirdwind
You're not alone I like cars too
Thank you. I think Cars is an incredible movie. It had some funny moments and good lessons as well. - ModernSpongeBobSucks
I HATE the singing in it! Plus the sisters are ugly.
The sisters are supposed to be ugly
The sisters are meant to be ugly.
I love Cinderella and how she sings lavenders blue
This movie's princess is actually loved by a lot of girls I found out. How can they hate this so much? Like, seriously! Come on!
Although a lot of girls contracted salmonella trying to miss frogs, I see no reason to hate this movie. Besides, Tiana has such a soulful and strong singing voice! - Perrywinks
How can you hate this movie?
I think this movie is amazing! Why do people hate it?!?!
I love the pirate of the Caribbean movies. I don't know anyone who hates this film. Come on people WAKE UP!
I'm one of the few people who actually like the Pirates sequels. Well, except for At World's End. I hated the ending of this movie but the rest of it was great, especially when watching in 3D. The mermaid fight was incredible, Blackbeard was a great villain, and Jack Sparrow was great as always. Unfortunately, Will Turner wasn't in this movie but I look forward to seeing him return next year in Dead Men Tell No Tales. - MegaSoulhero
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES MOVIES IN Disney
Not by Disney
Are you dumb? Pirates of the Caribbean is a Disney movie. Look it up. - MegaSoulhero
There were a lot of aspects that I liked in this movie except for the fact that Chicken Little's dad was a complete ass. The ending was also a huge slap in the face. - Mcgillacuddy
My mother and I actually watched this movie in theaters when it first came out. I still have the free AOL disc that they gave out which has free wallpapers based on this movie. - PerfectImpulseX
Alright. So..I've met some people who hate this movie to not even remembering this movie, but this movie by Disney was..unexpected. It feels different from the other movies made by Disney. The thing I like about this movie is that difference. It has a plot starting out as "a smaller kid who's smart, but gets picked on a lot" to "a save the world from aliens! " At first, it didn't make sense to me. Why such the sudden change in plot? But then it occured to me...
The plot was supposed to be a metaphor of sorts for the main character and the morals it's teaching. It was a very deep movie to me and it was enjoyable. The characters might've been cliche, but the things that were done to them was totally unexpected. (Foxy Loxy was brainwashed and STAYED that way instead of turning back! ) Overall, this movie isn't for everyone, but it was definitely really good and enjoyable. (Esp if you have a weakness for Sci-Fi or Disney's anthro characters)
I love this movie
Ok Here I go. I can understand why people hate this movie. This is not a very interesting spin-off of Cinderella and personally I think that Cinderella is one of the main and biggest Disney movies of all time. But then it gets to Maleficent. When it first begins the animations are Beautiful, The kind-hearted maleficent was fun and adventurous and it's amazing with a interesting story. But after you watch this movie Once it turns to a movie that will stay on your shelf or in your pouch until it picks up Dust. It try's to be different from Cinderella but turns out to be to different from Cinderella. Now you may call me STUPID and I can understand that. But over all I'd give this one a skip. And the only reason I watch his pile of Crap is because it gets commonly picked buy my family. So there you have thank you for reading and without a shadow of a doubt. The Horned King from the Black Cauldron is better than... HER.
Why do people hate it? I love this movie. The original one sucks in my opinion (the only good character in the original was Maleficent). - Anonymousxcxc
This shouldn't even be on this list. Maleficent shows a lot of perspective on how maleficent herself was just misunderstood all of her life. - Perrywinks
This film is possibly one of the Disney films because it's not all about princess crying that they can't go to the ball
It is hard to imagine that people think this is a conservative movie when it actually is against family values. The main protagonist ditches her family to be with some guy she barely knows by selling her soul to the villain, without even letting her family know about it, and that's not a good moral to teach your children.
This movie is a little bit corny
Can be a bit corny, but I still love this movie. - ModernSpongeBobSucks
Also, being anti-feminist doesn't really help, either.
People say this is the worst movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nope. That would be Iron Man 2. For me, I thought this movie was very awesome! I'm pretty sure people hate it because of the plot twist involving the Mandarin. That and Tony giving away his address to the world. Yeah, that was pretty stupid. However, this movie has the best action out of the trilogy and is definitely the funniest of the trilogy. All the Iron Man suits near the end was very amazing. Also, Tony gets his arc reactor removed at the end, how come he never did it before when he really needed to? I'm gonna have to make a Top 10 Plot Holes in Marvel Movies list. - MegaSoulhero
Loved this movie. Many favorite parts were when Tony was in Tennesse with that kid. The kid was great. This movie was hilarious. I would have rather had a more threatening villain, though.
What? Why are most of these superhero movies?
I thought this movie was a paramount movie - VideoGamefan5
Ok, I wasn't sure about this one. From the reviews I have read, they were pretty negative. They say this movie was just a quick way to make money. You would think a movie about Goofy would be a dumb idea, but this movie shows that Goofy can be a good father towards Max. There are some mature moments and when it wants to be funny, it's really funny. Also, this is the ONLY movie where Pauly Shore is actually funny. Now, if we're talking about An Extremely Goofy Movie, yeah, that movie sucks. - MegaSoulhero
The goofy movie is a really good movie
Jambareeqi was right about A Goofy Movie by his overwhelmingly phenomenal review on A Goofy Movie by how ambitious, touching and realistic it is. - The Ultimate Daredevil
Funny, every time I ask someone about it, or if they liked it they say they’ve never heard of Max let alone this movie... 🤨
This is just Oliver & Company, a great movie that's picked on for being underrated! This movie is better than anything that came out after it! Sure there were some awesome movies after it like Frozen, Tangled, Tarzan, Lilo & Stitch, The Princess and the Frog, Cars, and Up, but this movie tops them all! It's a heartwarming story about friendship and family! And also, this movie came out BEFORE Babe, so it CAN'T be a ripoff! They don't even have the same plot! They are both beautiful, wonderful films, so it doesn't matter which one you like best!
How can people hate this? Yeah, there are some parts that people will probably hate but hey...
Pig Power in the House! - iRocketGamer52
This movie looks heartwhelming - VideoGamefan5
If you absoultely cannot just say "the best Disney movie ever" without telling another to "suck it", please redirect that towards Zootopia which has overshadowed Frozen thanks to the former being Tumblr in movie form.
The best Disney movie ever!
Suck it Frozen!
Only 96? *sees it and Treasure Planet below The Wild*
UNNACEPTABLEEE! - 445956
I ❤ this movie.
I actually loved this!
OKAY! YOU WHO PUT THIS ON THE LIST! YOU ARE FIRED FROM BREATHING! PLEASE PACK UP YOUR THINGS AND KINDLY LEAVE LIFE!
I was the only one in my family who liked it.
It sounds cool, but it's overrated, and it sounds like Teen Beach Movie and High School Musical with Disney villains. - RiverClanRocks
Its overrated in my opinion. I was disappointed with it. The book's better.
Why do people hate this? This is a great movie
This movie was the best movie Disney has produced in the past 2 years. It's a good way to find out how the old classic loved Disney Princesses, Princes and Villians children are doing. - TiannaBossChix
Its okay,i couldn't find anything wrong with it but I guess some people find ot disturbing
ARE YOU SHURE ITS JUST OK
I think Pocahontas was a great movie with a cute story, enjoyable music and amazing animation. People seem to diss it mostly because of historical inaccuracy, but they changed most of the endings of the source material they base their movies on, so was that really not to be expected? Although the main story is pretty accurate, I feel like the way Mulan portrays the Chinese culture is more westernized and stereotyped than in Pocahontas, but does that make Mulan a bad movie? No. Is Mulan hated for it? Not really. So why can't this movie get more praise? - sofiav
This movie is awesome. Like hercules, people say its inaccurate, but so are Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid! They get praised, but why not Pocahontas and Hercules?! Cinderella plants a tree on her mothers grave. Sleeping beauty isn't awaken by true love's kiss, and the little mermaid DIES! People love the little mermaid even though its as inaccurate as pocahonats and Hercules! Why aren't they getting as much praise
This movie is awesome! It may not be the most accurate of history, but really? Think about it. It has amazing quality, voice actors, and is an original. The reason it's not accurate is because it's a childrens cartoon! Deal with it!
This isn’t related but there is are several accounts that have remixes almost the same
Nobody can judge it nowadays. It never released to the public on the small screen. Despite the famous song "Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah"
I actually love this movie. - Alpha101
What a pleasant movie. I thought it would be bad. - Bertie11
I might not be the best person to give their opinion on this movie since I don't read books. But from what I've heard, people hate this movie because it's not like the books it's based on. I could be wrong. From what I saw in this movie, it wasn't bad. It has some good action and some good effects. I also really liked the main character and the motion capture aliens, unlike the motion capture aliens from Mars Needs Moms. - MegaSoulhero
I LOVED this movie! - dipperpinesfangirl618
Too loud and wild, bit loved the emotions
That movie gets very little hate. - anonygirl
Why is this even on the list -_-
Why do a lot of people hate this movie? It was more entertaining and thrilling than the first one! Why do people hate this movie?
The only Pixar movies that are worse than Cars 2 are The Good Dinosaur and especially Cars 1, and this is coming from a man who likes all Pixar movies.
I think Tinker Bell should stick to Peter Pan. Seriously, I may like the Fairy Dance arc in Sword Art Online, but I think Peter Pan is better than Tinker Bell. - ModernSpongeBobSucks
In my opinion it was a horrible movie.
This movie is so bad-- I hate it!
One of the best. For once, the sequel's from Disney didn't stink! - Perrywinks
How do people hate this movie? I love it so much! It's about two animal friends that become seperated and eventually forgive eachother! I absolutely love it!
Amazing movie with great visuals and scaling. The first movie was okay but this is epic.
Har, har, har! Very funny! A heavily deep, intense, emotional, action-packed, badass Disney movie is not in the top 5s. Please see AniMat's videos on The Rescuers Down Under to see why The Rescuers Down Under is one of the greatest and most underrated Disney movies of all time. - The Ultimate Daredevil, a rather obsessive Disney fan
