He deserves a good spot. He is one of the most creative music artists of today, and he does have talent. He may not be the best technical wise, but he has tons of creativity that is unbeatable. He plays many things, from synth, guitar, piano, bass, and he even uses everyday items to make music, very creative. Not to mention, he is a good songwriter(not Taylor Swift who keeps getting called a good songwriter, yet she sucks and has no variety), one of the best of this generation, he can write a variety of songs and make them sound like poetry. And I haven't heard a single ear bleeding song from him. Vocally, he may not be the best, but he has a unique voice I love to listen to. And when he is not drunk without auto tune, he sounds amazing, maybe not Freddie Mercury level, but good.
