Best Characters In Star Wars: The Force Awakens

This list compiles the best characters featured in J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated 2015 space opera film, 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' (Episode VII).

The Top Ten

Kylo Ren Kyle Ren is a fictional Sith lord, who is strong with the Force. Kylo Ren commands the First Order with a temper as fiery as his unconventional lightsaber. His debut was in 2015's Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. Ren's real identity is Ben Solo, the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia. He was trained ...read more.

He is the only good character in the sequel trilogy all in all

One of the biggest surprises of this movie. I was afraid that he was going to be a typical badass villain with a menacing, lightsaber, look and voice without much background about him. Oh boy, was I wrong. Kylo Ren may be a badass but he's also a very emotional, intriguing, intimidating and compelling villain. A villain who feels conflicted, who has the desire to go back to the light side but doesn't have the courage to, kills his father Han Solo which added more to the emotional drama between Han and Leia, and also idolizing his grandfather Darth Vader (or shall I say Anakin Skywalker). That's how you make a great villain. He has the makings of being a true competitor to Darth Vader.

When people call him a wimp, think about it for a second. What conflict this poor guy is suffering through, and everything in between. He's practically being torn apart, as he said in the movie himself. To me, he is no wimp, but a fighter, because he's been through a lot, guys, and even though he killed his own father, he has his reasons.

What He Did To His Father At The End Was Despicable

Han Solo Han Solo is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed in films by Harrison Ford. In the original film trilogy, Han and his co-pilot, Chewbacca, become involved in the Rebel Alliance which opposes the Galactic Empire.

Han Solo only appeared in the first of the three movies and his scenes we're still better than all of the other characters' scenes. His death gave us the shock and violence that we got use to seeing in Star Wars and it was an iconic moment.

Personally, I think that Harrison Ford didn't really car about the movie. He was always open about his indifference towards the franchise and now he obviously dislikes the idea of being back in this role. You could could it in his expression. His performance was a real disappointment to me.

Still the best. But out of the new characters I would say Rey even though she's overpowered and kind of broke the Force in my opinion

I've always liked Han Solo, he has been great in every movie he has been in (except the Christmas special but you can't blame him for that)

Rey Rey is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed by British actress Daisy Ridley. First appearing as the central character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rey is a scavenger who was left behind on the planet Jakku when she was a child, and later becomes involved with the Resistance's ...read more.

My guess is, she'll be some kind of a main focus in the new trilogy. And that is certainly good, together with Kylo Ren, she is probably the most interesting and intriguing new character.

Quite an interesting character. it's pretty fair to say that Daisy Ridley has a very bright future ahead of her because she had some of the best acting I've ever seen in Star Wars. I know I may be overrate, but that's just me.

Sexy and amazing. Loved watching her kick emo Ren's ass. That's my type of girl. Gosh she's hot.

She's the new Skywalker. Though I do want her to be a Kenobi...

Finn FN-2187 (Finn) is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He first appeared in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens in which he is a stormtrooper for the First Order who flees and turns against it after being shocked by their cruelty in his first combat mission. He is portrayed by English ...read more.

Rey unfortunately in my opinion is a Mary sue, kylo ren unfortunately is a Vader wannabe, but Finn? He is 100% unique! Everything about him is so different from everyone else plus he is really funny! Well, Rey and him are both funny.

skilled with lightsaber

Out of everyone in The Force Awakens, I think Finn is my favorite character. We have always seen stormtroopers as goons who shot bad, Finn showed that not every stormtrooper wants to be one. John Boyega did a fantastic job playing this character and I can't wait to see him in Episode 8.

Awesome

Chewbacca Chewbacca, nicknamed "Chewie", is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He is a Wookiee, a tall, hirsute biped and intelligent species from the planet Kashyyyk. Chewbacca is the co-pilot of the Millenuim Falcon, and is best friends with Han Solo.

Chewy was a savage in this movie

Yay chewbacca

He shot kylo in the gut the went on a rampage which was my favorite moment aside from the lightsaber duel at the end.

Give the Wookie your vote since no one will give him a medal or a hug!

Poe Dameron Poe Dameron is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. Introduced in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, he is portrayed by Oscar Isaac.

The new pilot

Is he gay

He's Gay.

Princess Leia Organa Princess Leia Organa, later known as General Leia Organa, is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed in films by Carrie Fisher.

Leia is my favorite character in Star wars

Han / Leia make a good match

Your pic of her is wrong, it's supposed to be the pic of her in the movie, not a CW pic.

BB-8 BB-8 or Beebee-Ate is a droid character in the Star Wars franchise, first appearing in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Better than R2-D2 if possible

Best droid

my namesake is exactly like me. fiery, cheeky and soo cute

Luke Skywalker Luke Skywalker is a fictional character appearing as the central protagonist of the original film trilogy, and as a supporting character in the sequel trilogy of the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas.

As a person who already saw the movie and now tries to avoid spoiling anything to the others, I can only say that this pick is absolutely illogical (you'll see why)

I like how Honest Trailers says this is the easiest paycheck Mark Hamill ever made, because it's true.

How is he 2?! He was only in the movie for 1 minute

R2-D2 R2-D2 or Artoo-Detoo is a fictional robot character in the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas, who appears in the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, and the sequel trilogy.

The Newcomers

? Yoda Yoda is a fictional character in the Star Wars space opera franchise created by George Lucas, first appearing in the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back.

The Contenders

Captain Phasma Captain Phasma is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed by Gwendoline Christie. Introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the first film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Phasma is the commander of the First Order's force of stormtroopers.

She/he is really good and cool

C-3PO
Maz Kanata Maz Kanata is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. Introduced in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, she is a CGI character voiced and performed through motion capture by Lupita Nyong'o.

She's so funny I love her she reminds me of one of those wise old ladies that is always willing to crack a joke in between

Funniest character in the movie!

She's an orange and weaker version of Yoda, mixed with E.T. in looks, and she brought Rey towards a nightmare tunnel, yet you guys should feel bad for her after her castle got destroyed by the First Order.

Supreme Leader Snoke Supreme Leader Snoke is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He is a CGI character voiced and performed by Andy Serkis.

A character who resembles a cross between Voldemort from Harry Potter and Gollum from Middle Earth, yet his true identity is not known, he could be any character from the past movies, spin-offs and games, and he;s the "Supreme Leader" of the First Order.

So much mystery surrounds Snoke.

Didn't get mad enough

General Hux General Armitage Hux is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. First introduced in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, he is portrayed by Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson.

Oddly fascinating

Obi-Wan Kenobi Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, played by Sir Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor.
TR-8R

TRAITOR!

It became a meme.

Kaydel Ko Connix
Phasma

I didn't really like her here, but mi production is that she will have a great role in the sequels

Possibly the most underused character. She could have been a badass with no face. But she appeared, was a cool kind of bitch, and then disappeared. What a shame.

Lando

Lando was so good in this movie. I especially liked the part when he WASN'T EVEN IN IT. SERIOUSLY?! WHO PUT THIS HERE?!?!

First Order Stormtrooper

Seriously storm troopers can't hit a thing
