Sonic broke out of null space (basically the void) with no trouble, unlike Flash, who needs a lot of power and effort to travel between dimensions.
I think Sonic will win against Flash because, in the comics, he ran so fast that he broke time and went to the future.

Flash has an unlimited source of energy and speed in the pocket dimension known as the Speed Force, which he generates with every step. And that's just Barry Allen as the Flash, not to mention Wally West, who is currently the fastest Flash and one with the Speed Force.
Why is he not number one? He's faster than Sonic by a million! He's almost at the speed of light. Meanwhile, Sonic is only at 700, which is lower than everyone on this list. Alexa also said so. Therefore, he's number one.
He can literally go through the Speed Force. He could go faster than the speed of light times a thousand if he wanted to.

Very underrated. Once, he moved so fast he disappeared completely from the screen without a blur. That means he moved faster than the light from the sun could reflect off him.
Definitely the fastest. He's so fast that he can easily make these other characters look like sloths compared to him.
