Homer is too much of a dunce to be considered a good father. But, Ned Flanders was a family man.
I think Mufasa is a bit overrated, mostly because of how he is so trusting of Scar, even after not only threatened Mufasa, but also ate Zazu. Seriously...
He adopts the orphan Heathcliff as his own son, along with Catherine & Hindley. Sadly, he doesn't live long enough to keep all his children in line.
After his rebel son returns home from squandering his money, he still throws a wild celebration for him, & even tries to get the other son to forgive his brother too.
Raised his 3 sons after the death of his first wife, & then adopted Carole's 3 daughters upon getting married to her.
He loves his wife & daughters dearly, & is sad that he is poor so that he cannot provide for them.
Like Tevye, he loves his wife & daughters really dearly, but, he will not force any of them to marry against their wills.
