Top 10 Best Five Nights at Freddy's Characters
We've all heard about this popular (and seemingly terrifying) horror game. But who is the most badass and awesome animatronic of them all?
If you take it into consideration (and don't hate me for this), but if you think about it, in the first Five Nights at Freddy's game, Foxy doesn't get all in your face like Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy do. He just leans in and screams. A theory once said that the player may have died of a heart attack due to his scream. Think about this too: he was isolated in Pirate Cove for ten years (or less, I don't know), and he has been quite lonely.
If you say he is the cause of 'The Bite of '87', you're wrong. There are four suspects, including Foxy. The four suspects are Mangle, for she can just swing down and bite your head. Golden Freddy, for the shutdown of Fredbear's Diner because of the murder of a child. Foxy, for the shutdown of the cove. And finally Freddy, for the strange child handprints on his face (if you have not seen that before, please look).
Besides, there are things that people like about Foxy. He's a pirate, after all. Who doesn't like pirates? And people have thought about how he's never noticed and only wants to be noticed. So, it's right for Foxy to take first place because of the isolation and little attention he receives. That's why everyone likes Foxy.
Everyone may have their own opinions, but this is mine in general.

I like Bonnie because I think he is the cutest among all of them. I completely disagree with Scott finding Bonnie to be the creepiest. I pictured him with eyebrows, and trust me, it does make him look creepier. Sure, he may be a bit creepy, but claiming he is the creepiest is highly debatable.
Compare him to Freddy, Chica, and even Golden Freddy. Freddy can enter your office without any warning. Ihascupquake found Chica to be the creepiest because of the weird glare she gives you. As for Golden Freddy, he can still enter your office even with both doors closed, and I found his jumpscare to be the creepiest. Foxy, for me, was the least creepy, but he is not my favorite because he is so overrated and has already received too much love.
Bonnie also suffered the most since he lost his face and his arm and didn't have a phantom version in FNaF 3. He was supposed to have the running animation in the game, but it was later given to Foxy. And if I were Bonnie, I would not want to be called the creepiest. I think Bonnie is the cutest because he is just a rabbit, and rabbits are cute. His cuteness matches that of Foxy's without being as overrated.

Mangle is the most likely candidate for the Bite of '87. Her jumpscare shows her biting around that area, her teeth are sharp, and she has the most interaction with kids during the day. Foxy is away in Pirate Cove for whatever reason, but his jaw is not broken - in the first few frames, it's closed. Yes, Freddy has the handprint, but that could have come from the Phone Guy or something else.
Moving on from the Bite of '87, I really don't like Foxy, but Mangle is an exception. Her design is totally crazy, and I've always wanted an animatronic like this. Even though her appearance in Five Nights at Freddy's 3 was brief, I'm happy she came back. In the second game, she probably scared me the most. Despite thinking Foxy is overrated, Mangle is an awesome exception.

Golden Freddy (or Fredbear) was the original character at Fredbear's Family Diner. He accidentally bit a child in 1987 (or 1983) and took out part of his brain. This incident caused his restaurant to get shut down. Later on, a little boy named Michael was lured into the back room with four other kids and murdered by William Afton. Michael possessed the Golden bear. A very tragic story.
Do not tell me Golden Freddy is not Fredbear. "Silver Eyes" confirmed they were the same due to the line, "It was Freddy. Not the one they all knew. It was the other one. The one she remembered, the yellow Freddy from the diner." There. PROOF that Golden Freddy and Fredbear are the same. "But the book isn't canon!" Well, William Afton is still the Purple Guy in the games, so Fredbear is still Golden Freddy in the games. Thanks for your time.

I love how Freddy is portrayed as the alpha of the three other characters and is the most intimidating character in FNAF.
In the first game, he was the most chilled and the most intelligent as he would laugh every time he moved, hung out in the women's restroom, and played his music before finishing you off. In the second game, he was just completely badass. And his withered look was awesome as well.
In the third game, he played a minor role as a phantom, with the main antagonist being Springtrap. In the fourth game, I believe Freddy was at his weakest since it was really easy to avoid him. The main antagonist of the game being Fredbear.

I had a nightmare about Springtrap. I dreamed I was lying in bed and then felt pressure on my neck. I opened my eyes and saw that he was on top of me, choking me. I was scared out of my mind. I remember seeing those eyes staring straight into mine and struggling underneath him. I couldn't move or breathe.
I finally managed to sit up and woke up with my heart pounding. Thanks, Scott, for making me experience sleep paralysis for the first time in my life.
Springtrap is my favorite, as he is the creepiest of them all appearance-wise. It drives you insane just looking for him. When the phantoms decide to jumpscare you, it gets your heart beating as you wait for the systems to reboot. He may be walking to you from the halls or in the vents, making you think fast to lure him into another room or die trying.
The fact that the Purple Guy died from him is a bonus, as it adds to the storyline. Plus, it's an example of served justice and bitter irony.

Charlotte Emily was such a precious little girl who didn't deserve anything she had to go through. Her dad created the puppet to protect her from evil. However, when she was locked outside of the pizzeria and killed by Afton, she ended up becoming the puppet and protecting the other victims.
I created a story where the Puppet is a mother named Mari, short for Maria (later Marionette). She brings her son Billy to Freddy Fazbear's, only to lose him. She finds Billy mortally wounded in a room, just as the Purple Man exits, leaving Mari to mourn alone. In her grief, Mari looks for a mask at Freddy's to hide her tears and finds one that fits perfectly. However, she becomes unable to remove the mask, which gradually becomes her face. She transforms into a puppet-like being, crying alone in the pizzeria.
In a twist, it turns out that Billy is alive in the pizzeria as an animatronic named Balloon Boy. Perhaps she has another child who becomes Balloon Girl. This is a story I concocted, and it aligns well with the song "It's Been So Long" by The Living Tombstone.

Chica is by far the best. True, she isn't the fastest, and she isn't a stalker who just stands at your door for all eternity, but she's still pretty dangerous. She comes to your door when you least expect it because most people, after night two, are watching out for Bonnie, Foxy, and Freddy (referring to the original game). Then you hear the groans of Chica in your office.
I do think that maybe the reason that Toy Chica looks the way she does is all of the comments about how she isn't feminine enough. But I love Chica for the way she is from day one!

There is something about this blue bunny that just connected with me. Something about him just screams, quite literally sometimes, adorable. Maybe it's just me, but that death screen where he just leaps at you looks like he is going to give a very unsettling, awkward hug.
He plays the guitar, kills people, and looks cute while doing it. What's not to love?
Toy Bonnie is Bonnie as a toy but blue instead of purple, which I hate so much, the same about the movie. But I would love to be this toy bunny because the man gets to play with Toy Chica every night.

He is the best ever. I love his voice and his personality. The glitches, the distortion, the slight psychopathy, and the erratic insane happiness he displays are captivating.
I feel he is more bloodthirsty and insane than Purple Guy himself, as he delights in killing just for the sake of it and seems to enjoy what he does. Purple Guy has not been shown to enjoy his actions (though he probably does), can still reason (to a slight extent), and is not as deranged as Funtime Freddy.
He also has a really cool mechanic, and the fact that his will was stronger than Ballora's and Funtime Foxy's makes him one of my personal favorites. I also love Molten Freddy, with his more blob-like appearance and his two sets of faceplates for some reason.
The Newcomers

I just like Freddy. He is my favorite character, and the Glamrock version is so good!

Glamrock Chica has been my favorite character ever since I heard of FNAF, which was in 6th grade. I instantly fell in love with her design (not trying to be weird, because I am female) and the way she acted.
I was OBSESSED with her, and she is a great character.

She's another main reason why I don't like William Afton/Springtrap. He designed his killing machine based on his 6-year-old daughter, and she ends up getting killed inside it. Her soul got corrupted by all the programming and controlled shocks. Poor Elizabeth, she was just a toddler who admired her father for his creations and wanted him to see her the way she sees him.
Circus Baby is a great animatronic in the horror game franchise because her character is tragic and sad. She never wanted to be the villain. She was just forced to. Her soul is corrupted with a voice that will never be silenced. All she wanted was to make children happy.
Her style of innocence turning into remorseful betrayal is epic. Plus, she only wants to escape the restaurant because she is always forced back into her suit. Circus Baby is the best.

I'm not much of a party person, but if Toy Chica was there, I might enjoy it a little more. She is always the one to scare me. One night, I decided to keep the mask on the whole time, but I ended up taking it off, and she jump-scared me. I keep changing my mind about my favorite character, but this time I will stay with Toy Chica.
Very cute, but not in a weird way (I'm female). I love the colors chosen for her: pink, yellow, and blue eyes. I like how she can take her beak off.
In my opinion, she's slightly more annoying than Toy Bonnie because you have to listen for her leaving the vents, even though it could be another animatronic. I don't like her voice lines, except for some involving her missing beak.

Nightmare really is an interesting character. In my opinion, Nightmare is probably one of the scariest characters in game four. Not only is his character design amazingly detailed and terrifying, but his in-game mechanics are unique.
Nightmare doesn't have any set limits or even a set role, like the other animatronics featured in the games. The original four being interactive robotic mascots.
He is customized, and this targets the boy. His characteristics are determined by the boy's imagination.
One of the scarier parts about Nightmare is the sense of fear and the unknown that he gives us. All the other nightmares were based off of previous animatronics that we (the players) have seen, while Nightmare is just there. We see no previous evidence of Nightmare existing, and we don't see some type of past counterpart. He just suddenly appears, and the more the scarier in this game. He is a personal nightmare.
Keep on being you, Nightmare. We appreciate it.
Note: You would not want to mess around with this guy, because he will mess you up.

Funtime Foxy has unique markings and looks, unlike Foxy the Pirate. Foxy welcomed the change, and I think it's pretty unique how Scott Cawthon revamped Foxy the Pirate. However, Funtime Foxy is clearly not a pirate. In my opinion, it's a great change, and I really like him or her (the gender of Funtime Foxy is not confirmed).
I love Funtime Foxy because they have a fun and colorful personality. I don't think their gender will ever be found out, but that's what makes Funtime Foxy even cooler.
What the? Number 20? This should be number 5. She's just so cute. And, I mean, she's not Mangle (Love you, Mangle). They have different teeth and stuff. But yeah, totally love it.

The Phone Guy has such a sad backstory. I used to mute him because I found him creepy or annoying since he kept talking nonstop. However, one time when I was playing with my phone muted, my friend told me to turn the volume up. So I did, and the Phone Guy was actually giving me directions, which was so helpful. Love him.
We need more Phone Guy. Many players find him annoying and choose to mute him, but his guidance can be unexpectedly helpful. Furthermore, experiencing his death in the game is quite disheartening. He was one of the first characters to die and does not receive due recognition for his contributions.

You, the player. Yes, his official name is Mike. You gotta admit, he is a pretty brave guy, showing up for work all five nights in a row, even though he is at extreme risk of death. I mean, come on. This place only pays $120 a week, and you have to go through almost getting killed every night. Mike is an awesome dude.
That's us. Poor Mike went through so much, and all he wanted was a simple job to pay a couple of bills. What did he get instead? A large group of psychotic robots who want to rip him apart. That's fair treatment for the employees right there.

Considering the kinds of creatures that lurk in FNaF world, Lolbit is pretty brave in where she decides to set up shop. She must be pretty tough too, if she's going to be attacked by enemies non-stop. That gal's got to defend her stock. She must do a good job. I wouldn't mind having her as a playable character.
Where she sells Block 50, 20, and 5 bytes, though, is my favorite. That far in a mine? That's awesome.
Lolbit is my absolute favorite FNaF character because Lolbit is like me. I know that sounds weird, but I like that Lolbit can distract the player and confuse them with the "please stand by" sign. I love the funny personality.

She always closes her eyes, so I assume that she always feels sleepy (just like me). She closes them even when she is dancing in the trailer. By the way, I am a sleepyhead. If you ask me to describe her with two adjectives, I would say creepy and sleepy.
She is the scariest one. Man, Sister Location's cast was so good. Great personalities and nightmare fuel. Ballora and Freddy were the scariest ones in the game. Whenever her music plays, I get so tense.
This is just sad. All she wants to do is dance on her tracks. What else does she get instead? She gets shocked daily and falls off her tracks, forcing her to crawl and look for you even though she is blind. Then, she's thrown into a spaghetti pile by the leader and then burned into the abyss. No wonder why she wants to come to your house in special delivery.

Ennard is just awesome. I love how he craves exotic butters. I think that the exotic butters thing makes him less scary. He is the scariest character in all of FNaF, and that's saying something.
Ennard is honestly the best to me. I don't know why people think he's so evil and just see him and say, "Oh, he's the worst." All he did was scoop you. Plus, he's possessed by a child. He probably doesn't have any idea what he's doing.
The best idea Scott's had for a character design so far. Not the best in execution (I'd like to see some qualities of all the characters inside of him), but he's a super intimidating character.

Michael Afton is an interesting character. His role starts at FNaF 4 when he bullies the crying child. His father (William Afton) tells him to go to SL and save Elizabeth from Baby. He saves Elizabeth, and she gets out of Baby, but she is dead. Michael has to go and save all the other killed kids to take away his father's sins.
And finally, when he does that, he meets his father at Fazbear's Fright. His story is very interesting as being the hero in the story mainly. I really like Michael Afton.
You play as him in Pizzeria Simulator and FNAF1, not just in Sister Location. He uses many names to avoid being connected to his father. He may possibly be the protagonist of several other games as well (3 and 4 and the last night of 2), but we don't know.
I like how he connects the player character to the story, giving us a reason why someone would repeatedly put themselves into the path of killer animatronics. It's personal for Mike.

Nightmare Foxy really hits it home in the sense of making good old regular Foxy so terrifying. Also, the fact that he's in the closet and that jump scare he does in the closet. And the fact that he moves his mouth like he's actually making the noise without moving one spot.
Also, how he turns into a little plushie. The plushie is so cute, by the way. I know the plush is lore-based.
I love him. He should be even more popular than he is now.
He scared me for a week when I saw his picture. Or me.

This guy gives me the creeps. A lot of people will say Bonnie or Springtrap scare them the most, but Nightmare Fredbear scares me the most. The bite of '83 makes him all the more terrifying, and even his original design is horrific. His jump scare may get old, but he is actually the most horrifying pursuer.
He is my favorite animatronic. He can rock a hat and bow tie, but unlike Freddy, who can do the same, he looks brutal with his teeth. I'm very sad to see him so low on the list. And come on, Foxy at the top is ridiculous. He is so basic. I could understand like Nightmare Foxy or Mangle, but come on.

He is super awesome, and he is my favorite animatronic from the entire series. It would be cool if I met him face to face.
Its kind of creepy face is kind of funny!
He looks a lot like Slenderman!

When he's in the hallway, you've got to keep flashing the light at him every now and then to repel them away.
I have to say I love Withered Foxy. He is my favorite, tied with the Marionette and Withered Chica. Even though he is annoying, I like a Foxy challenge. Every time I am on 5 a.m., Foxy and Chica gang up on me. Chica goes in my room, then Foxy jump scares me, but I like it because I always get a mini-game.
Every time he's in the hallway, it immediately twists my stomach.

I feel really sorry for him since normal Bonnie is my favorite. I've pretty much gotten used to him not having a face. He's a lot more terrifying in this form, and I like that. I think the saddest part is that Balloon Boy is higher on this list than Withered Bonnie.
As a fangirl, I know that Bonnie is highly favored (after Foxy), but just because he looks cute. Well, I like Withered Bonnie because he scared his creator, Scott Cawthon, and he looks as if he had a very intense battle and came out winning. Also, not that this is true, but when he raises his right hand to end your game, who knows if he's actually going to grab you, like, "come on kid, we're going to escape".
