Top 10 Most Unexpected Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS Newcomers

If you don't want any spoilers about who is in the next game, then I suggest that you don't read this list.

The Top Ten
  1. Duck Hunt (Duck Hunt)

Duck Hunt is a cool character and you don't want to kill him because that's animal abuse, but wow Sakurai, that's pretty random for Smash, you know. Oh well. At least Rosalina didn't get in... wait, what?

He should've been the mystery character, hiding underneath the cloak.

I played some Smash matches, but I expected Ridley, not him!

  2. Wii Fit Trainer (Wii Fit)

This character isn't a fighter. You don't even control her in her games. This character must have taken a lot of work.

This character was so random even Nintendo didn't know what they were doing.

They took lots of inspiration from yoga for her. Wii Fit series for the win!

  3. Dark Pit (Kid Icarus)

Dark Pit is a key character in the 2012 Nintendo 3DS video game Kid Icarus: Uprising. He appears as an alternate, darker version of the protagonist Pit and ultimately becomes a playable ally with a distinct personality. His role and character development are prominent throughout the game's storyline... read more

It was pretty obvious that Kid Icarus would be getting a new representative because of Kid Icarus: Uprising. We thought that character would only be Palutena, but apparently Dark Pit will be joining the roster also.

He's the same thing as Pit. He needs to be a costume instead of a waste of roster space.

Kid Icarus having three characters. As much as Kirby... Wow!

  4. Robin (Fire Emblem)

Robin is a character from Fire Emblem Awakening, a tactical role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems and Nintendo SPD. The game was published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. Robin is one of the three main protagonists and serves as the deuteragonist of the story.

Robin instead of Chrom?! This was definitely a shocker when we saw Robin raise his blade instead of Chrom in the reveal trailer.

  5. Bayonetta (Bayonetta)

  6. Cloud (Final Fantasy VII)

Cloud Strife is a fictional video game character and the main protagonist of Final Fantasy VII, a role-playing game developed by Square and released in 1997. He also plays a central role in the game's remakes, sequels, and various spin-offs.... read more

Debuted on a PlayStation exclusive that was supposed to be on a Nintendo console and has never been on a Nintendo console. Admit it, you were surprised when Cloud was announced. And why is Duck Hunt number one when people were already requesting him?

  7. Mega Man (Mega Man)

Mega Man, known as Rockman in Japan, is the title character and protagonist of Capcom's Mega Man video game series. He first appeared in 1987 and is known for his special ability to copy the weapons of defeated Robot Masters. Over the years, Mega Man has become an iconic character in gaming history,... read more

I'm not that sure if it was obvious he would make it in. He has an amazing fan base and has a great variety of moves perfect for this game!

This is the wrong picture, but I'm still glad he made it into the game.

  8. Greninja (Pokémon)

Greninja is a Water/Dark-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 6. It evolves from Frogadier and is the final evolution of the Water-type starter Froakie. In addition to the standard Torrent ability shared by Water-type starters, Greninja can have the Protean ability, which changes its type to match the... read more

We thought in the trailer that it would be Mewtwo and it was all hype. This Pokémon was the unexpected one instead.

We all knew that there would be a Generation 6 Pokémon in the new Smash game, but I know I didn't see Greninja coming.

Before Smash: This guy sucks! I want Mewtwo!

During Smash: This is my main.

  9. Bowser Jr. (Super Mario)

Bowser Jr., sometimes simply called Jr., is a video game character in Nintendo's Mario franchise. He is depicted as the son of Bowser, the primary antagonist of the series. Bowser Jr. first appeared in Super Mario Sunshine in 2002 and has since become a recurring character in both mainline and spin-off... read more

I know the main Mario series has been shoving him in our face since Super Mario Sunshine, but I thought they'd at least not put him in Smash.

The least suspecting guy of all.

  10. Pac-Man (Pac-Man)

I thought Pac-Man was dead. Then I saw the trailer...

Well, it became plain to see that Xenoblade needed a representative in Super Smash Bros. after Shulk's game debuted.

Do people seriously expect Shulk to show up more than Bowser Jr.?

  19. Villager (Animal Crossing)

  20. Mii Fighter (Super Smash Bros.)
