Top 10 Best Chicago Bears Players Going Into the 2025-26 Season
The Bears are coming off a disappointing 2024-25 season, going 5-12 overall and finishing last in the NFC North.Despite their record, there is potential for this team to improve greatly in 2025-26, with a lot of young talent and a new head coach in Ben Johnson.
Can the Bears turn things around and go from worst to first?

Jaylon Johnson is one of the best cornerbacks in the entire league. He has 2 straight Pro Bowls and made Second Team All-Pro in 2023.
He had his best year yet in 2024 with 53 total tackles, 42 solo tackles, 11 combined tackles, and 2 interceptions. He should continue to be the face of the defense. He is elite in coverage and goes up against some of the top wideouts in the league. He has been the most consistent and impactful player for Chicago on defense.

Montez Sweat has been a very valuable addition since being traded from Washington in 2023. He's been a consistent leader and really helped the Bears' defense turn things around since he arrived.
Unfortunately, his 2024 was a step in the wrong direction. Like some other players on this list, I think the fanbase in general can forgive him because the coaching staff was dysfunctional and things were unpredictable. I expect him to return to form in 2025 with a more competent coaching staff.

Caleb Williams had a good rookie season, throwing for 3,541 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. Considering his offensive line and Matt Eberflus being the head coach, you can't complain too much. But he was the first overall pick for a reason. We drafted him to be great, and he needs to become great right now.
This entire offseason has revolved around upgrading the offense for him to perform well. I think he will show great improvement in year 2, and I'm excited to see what his future holds.

The Bears traded for Joe Thuney with the Kansas City Chiefs. He immediately improves the offensive line, which is our biggest area of need at the moment.
Joe Thuney has an impressive resume: winning 4 Super Bowls, 3 Pro Bowls, and being a 2-time First Team and 2-time Second Team All-Pro. Last year he gave up zero sacks and had only one penalty, according to PFF.

D.J. Moore has been our top wide receiver since the blockbuster trade with the Panthers. His 2023 season was his best year in the NFL by the numbers.
His 2024 was a down year stats-wise, with just 966 yards and 6 touchdowns. To be fair though, that 2024 offense was really painfully bad to watch. I expect an improved offense in 2025.

D'Andre Swift had a rough first season for the Bears. He averaged just 3.8 yards per carry last year. He would ultimately finish the 2024-25 season with 959 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Honestly, even that's impressive considering just how dysfunctional and terrible the offense was a year ago. An improved offensive line and better head coach should help Swift improve his numbers this season.

I'm honestly really excited to see Rome Odunze emerge in his second season. His rookie year, he finished with a respectable 734 yards and 3 touchdowns on 54 receptions.
With no more Keenan Allen in the picture, it clears the way for Rome Odunze to take up most of the workload.

Kevin Byard honestly emerged as a leader for us on defense. He recorded the most total tackles of his career (130), most solo tackles (80), and most combined tackles (50).
He is 31, but he has the veteran experience and has the leadership we need in the secondary.

I was high on Luther Burden. I figured he might go late first round or early second round in the 2025 NFL Draft. Getting him at pick 39 is honestly a steal. He fits in as a nice WR3.
He was First Team All-SEC in back-to-back years. He is a very explosive playmaker coming off 3 great years for the Missouri Tigers, peaking in his sophomore season with 1,212 yards and 9 touchdowns. I'm excited to see what this guy can do for us.

Cole Kmet had a very disappointing 2024 season, his worst year since his rookie season. Only 474 receiving yards, 4 touchdowns, and 47 receptions.
Yes, we drafted Colston Loveland in the first round, and while I'm confused by that pick, it's not the worst, I guess. I think Ben Johnson has a plan to run 2 tight end schemes like he did in Detroit, in which case Cole Kmet will have a breakthrough 2025-26 season.
