Top Ten Greatest Fictional Characters
Who's your favorite character? Vote for one of those guys!
Because he is Batman... well there is more to that. He has a tragedy and an archnemesis with a similar background with a completely different philosophy. Him and the Joker together you will see the Yin and the Yang.
What can you say about Batman that hasn’t already been said? The guys a badass... he forged his past tragedy into a legacy and his fear into a symbol that even the most infamous criminals are afraid of. He co-founded the Justice League, has the most kickass rogues gallery, is one of the best tacticians on Earth and has stood up to Gods when defeat is almost inevitable and he’s just a man. Batman would do anything to save Gotham and the world, even making contingency plans to defeat his friends if the need arises. Whether in or out of the cowl, Bruce Wayne fights to better the world and he never gives up... That is why Batman has my vote for the best fictional character
Batman has wings that when drops in on, they fold to capture the particular issue. Glides and climbs with a grappling hook at high areas of the realm. It is beautiful to see Batman or something similar to the Hero in question perform those surprise deeds. A true 'Cape Crusader' and light as a Paladin into the Darkness thwarting it for glory and perhaps charm striving for a better zone in time and space for self and those dear to Batman.
One of the most iconic characters in all of fiction. Even after fifty years and dozens of renditions from numerous writers, the themes that we associate with batman such as self-improvement, trauma and the struggles of the human psyche, persists even today. With appearances ranging from video games to on-screen and novel appearances; batman's certainly has a profound effect on multi-media culture in general.

I'm not just limiting myself to the Heath Ledger Joker, which is, without doubt, the best Joker the silver screen has ever seen, but I'm also counting the Joker from the comics and even series and video games.
Every great hero need a equally great villain as foil. The Joker is just that, but sometimes he transcends it and makes the entire circus revolve around himself. He is just that crazy. And awesome.
Only Heath Ledger Joker is the best. Jared Leto tries too hard. Why so serious
He's easily the most unique, unpredictable and interesting villain.

He is the best Star Wars character ever. He is one of my favorite fictional characters. Go Team Vader!
He is the chosen one, people say Luke killed palpatine but no you're wrong Vader did
The greatest character in the greatest story ever told. He deserves the #1 spot
Voted Vader because I couldn't find Spock on the list...by the way both Vader and Anakin are on the list, the same person

I think spidy was a game changer for maverl entertainment...because the time when spidy was introduced in marvel that time Batman and superman wher over to the fans...but spidy make its own fan following...and the way also Spidy was introduced in marvel was also excellent...Marvel given Spider man as a tag of friendly neighbourhood spider man which created a friendly image of spidy among the youngsters...that's why my vote is gor spidyy
This is above Mario, and with good reason. Mario, although a classic, is a very boring character. Spider-Man is the most realistic superhero in the MCU because we all know how it feels when you're not fitting in and have many, constant problems.
The child with a tragic backstory and set out to avenge his uncle's death is great. The greatest symbol for teenage heroism
Spider-Man Spider-Man kicking joker in the nuts spiderman bunny ears On the bats

This incredible movie shows that anyone could be anything. And Forrest Gump decided to do it all.
"Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
If in reality, would be the most strange but most interesting person on earth
A reminder that a simple man can do great things.

Harry is an immensely heroic character yet still very relatable. He's adorable, fair, kind and a friend you'd wish you actually have. He's a bit of a hothead but that flaw adds more to his appeal. The boy wizard is definitely my fave fictional character ever.
For the love of God, Harry Potter is clearly a top choice. He's humble from the very beginning when Hagrid first told him that he was a wizard. He demonstrates love and compassion throughout the series, and has an innocence that is so pure he destroys Lord Voldemort. I worship him. I am his cult leader.
When I saw Batman on the top of this list, I was like "NOOO". While batman mostly appeals to males, Harry Potter is quite a unisex fandom. Also, Harry Potter was a part of my childhood and I still love the books and movies. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the Cursed Child play, but a friend lent me the book.
Harry Potter is the single most influential character on the children of an entire generation, their parents, and their kids after them. If the question is, is Harry Potter still relevant "after all this time", my answer to you is "Always".

He may be portly, he may be a plumber, and he may have a nice mustache, but that doesn’t mean he’s not on the the top! He’s constantly jumping off goombas and saving peach, or whoever’s in danger! Wait... does that make Mario a simp?
Either he is very strong because he can kill by jumping or his enemies are very weak. Either way, he made video games great again and is now the pacman of Nintendo.
How is..I mean I absolutely love mario and he is the greatest video game character of all time but how is he above mickey Santa Claus Spider-Man and superman
The best dang plumber in the mushroom kingdom! He can collect different kinds of suits and power-ups and has an awesome, cheery personality!

There should be 'Captain' somewhere... Captain Jack Sparrow is easily one of the best two characters in my opinion, the other being Tony Stark. Johnny Depp is irreplaceable here and his mind blowing acting along with the character's fascinating qualities makes the character one of the best
Funniest character ever. Harry potter is the biggest bot of a main character, should be down in the 60s, not above The Great Captain Jack Sparrow
Lets face it Jack Sparrow is- "Captain Jack Sparrow" Said Jack. Right Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the funniest characters and no one could have played him better than Johnny Depp
He should be no. 1 on this list. He should, savvy.
Johnny Depp is amazing as him!

Gandalf, along with many other Tolkien characters deserves to be higher on this list. The very fact that superheroes are some of the first characters I see makes me sad and I almost laughed when I saw that there were anime characters even here at all. The very thought that the shallow characters are considered better than the likes of Tolkien's beautifully constructed Gandalf and Smeagol, and various other brilliant creations is a disgrace. Half of this page is made up of depthless and bromidic animated characters, which insults the human capability to be creative and the literary geniuses who brought us sucg well-crafted stories and most importantly the characters that came with them.
Yeah let's put harry on no. 1 because he's a wizard I mean he deserves a spot on the top ten but not no. One I personally think batman or Vader should be number one but I'm a Tolkien fanboy so whatever
The defining fictional wizard, Dumbledore is a mere ripoff of him and still is a great character. Defines Lord of The Rings, him and Gollum are the best characters ever.
A powerful wizard, a well- developed character, and an incarnate demigod who faces fire demons... what's not to love?

Link is so strong! In Skyward Sword, he defeated an entire army of bad guys, then defeated a demon right afterwards, and then defeated a god-like being right after that! In Ocarina of Time, he defeated Ganon after fighting of his minions and climbing his tower! In Majora's Mask, he stopped the moon from falling and defeated Majora's Mask. The best part is that he is a kid in all of these games. Link is also a silent protagonist, so his character is up to you to decide! Link is awesome!
He is really fun to play as in Zelda in smash bros and many other games. Link is one of the most Iconic characters of
All Time! His games are masterpiece He has the most iconic weapon in video game history the master sword slaying evil, saving the world. Maybe he can't talk but what makes him popular is that his adventures will never get old.
Link has gone through some of the greatest hardships that most of us would cripple under (I'm looking at you, Majora's Mask). He also is one of the greatest "average-personality" characters in any franchise, considering he is not customizable. A absolute top choice.
All these other heroes have distinct personalities. Link does not. Link is your own special personality. The greatest hero of all time is you! That is an idea worthy of higher rank.
The Newcomers

The best villain I have ever read. What makes Valentine great is his ability to convince others, as well as himself, that his motives are pure and that he is doing the right thing. He even has people still saying that he is the real hero of part 7 despite raping a 14 year old girl.

I will always love SpongeBob always my friend and I are like obsessed with him. I will probably still watch it when am 99. I hope they never stop showing that show.
I personally grew to like Rocko way more than SpongeBob, but Rocko is a show strictly aimed at the "big" and "cool" kids so I'm fine with SpongeBob's position.
SpongeBob? Seriously. I just... don't know what to say. Now, please excuse me while I go jump out a window.
I think SpongeBob is an interesting sponge and there is 1 girl I know how is obsessed with him.she is also obsessed with flamingoes.

I don't like superman
The movie justice League would have been better without superman. This over powered guy made the whole movie so easy for the heroes
No wonder why justice League was a big joke
Superman was created by Jewish boys who understood the importance of Moses in history -- and Moses himself being a foreshadowing of the central figure of Western Civilization: Jesus Christ. And so, Superman has many Christ-like qualities about him.
He is hope. He is light. He is the future, "The Man of Tomorrow".
All other superheroes are, in essence, descendants of him.
Superman is the head of the hierarchy of heroes.
The Man of Steel is a picture of what Humanity could be like if we got our act together and became a force for good.
Strip him of his superpowers and he is still Superman, in one sense, because it's his character that makes him a hero, not his abilities.
Many heroes and villains are capable of doing what Superman can do, but not all possess the heart of a hero as he does.
An alien. Born of another world. An outsider seeking the good of all, including his enemies. An outcast of both Krypton and of Earth, yet managing to be ...more
How in the hell is Superman 24th on this list? He should be #1 hands down and I'm not even a Superman fan, he is The Greatest Superhero ever created and arguably the best fictional character ever created, The hero of all Heroes.
Am I the only one who is utterly confused at the fact that sponge bob squarepants is ranked number 6 while SUPERMAN is ranked at 22!

Goku is gifted, but Vegeta is more human when it comes to flaws and ambitions. Vegeta shows us what it means to be the 99 others out of the 100 trying to be the best, and how it transforms him into a matured and self sacrificing individual. Character depth and growth - amazing.
His Awesomeness levels...There over 9000!
Best character ever
Better than Goku

Sonic is a blue hedgehog, which are naturally cool animals, can travel at the speed of sound, can curl into ball and destroy robots AND his adventures vary a running-fighting game to a sword fighting-runner game to a game where he basically gets super powers. THIS thing is the coolest video game character!
He is just too epic, there is no doubt he has the best character design of all time, a blue hedgehog that runs at the speed of sound that can collect over 1 milion rings, his rivals? Are epic, also, his attitude
Sonic The Hedgehog franchise is one of the most popular franchiss. The dynamic in all the characters, music, gameplays and story are AWESOME
He will beat any video character definitely, Mario? Hmm... How about no supply?

I love Iron Man.
He is a flawed hero, makes lots of mistakes and has a bit of a pride problem sometimes but always tries to do what is right and wants to protect the people he loves.
Plus he has a great sense of humor and incredibly sexy
Iron man is the god of tech and most of all the most interesting character who can kill others will a cool. He and batman r the superheroes no one can ever touch.
I am iron man he finally. Sacrifices in avengers end game. Spoiler alert. Sorry.
Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist

Especially great when you consider the lack of clothing she is often seen in.
She is Daenerys Stormborn, first of her name. You can call her Khaleesi, the Breaker of Chains.
She should be over mario lol
She is amazing

Bilbo Baggins was a mischief kid who grew up and thought "hey, I should get my head out of the clouds and be a normal hobbit." Then what happens? He meets the last dwarves with the birthright of Erebor, an elf-lord and an elf king, travels and fights alongside the wizard who would become the white rider, falls to the depths of a mountain and finds the most powerful ring in the world, meets one of the last living dragons and STEALS something from its hoard right under its nose, THEN he goes home and cherishes this story, I mean he tells EVERYONE who will listen because those were his best friends! And in the end he is the first hobbit to travel west across the great sea on an elven ship. Bilbo. For. The. Win.
No hero starts out as a boring short man and turns into a bad ### warrior able to go toe to toe with the most powerful beings alive... except maybe captain America.
He's a very friendly hobbit and I would get along with him well. His character development in the Hobbit is just amazing.
Yay! He's the nicest person ever! And he's heroic. I wish I could be friends with Bilbo.

Yes, yes, a hundred times yes. I swear, Holmes should at least be number two! I mean, look at what the readers did when Conan Doyle killed him off way back in the 1800s! If a character is adored to the point that the readers don't shut up until the author resurrects them, that's a huge honor.
Sherlock Holmes merits his place as the greatest fictional character ever if not for his wonderful character and intriguing mind, but for the impact he has had on pop culture and literature since his creation.
Of all fictional characters, Holmes is the only one who changed the world. The World, not just a country or a state. Every law enforcement agency in the world use his methods. And he is thd father of Batman.
Sherlock Holmes deserves his place as one of the greatest fictional characters, not only for his importance do literature, but for his character itself, that its very cool.

What a great dad! We should all try to be like Atticus Finch
Most probably the best character ever to be created.
Remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.” That was the only time I ever heard Atticus say it was a sin to do something, and I asked Miss Maudie about it. “Your father's right,” she said. “Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy... but sing their hearts out for us.

He has been in more feature films than any other character and will kick King Kong's ass in the upcoming movie! Long live the King!
Godzilla deserves #1 more than anybody else on this list! He more so much more respect, attention, and love than how much marvel, DC, and other popular fictional characters are taking away from him! He’s more important than most Godzilla lovers will ever think!
Screw all of the guys above him! Godzilla is the coolest!
Always the best. 1954 baby!

he is so NOT! handsome. what is wrong with people?

Captain America is one of the strongest boldest characters there has every been
He is my fictional character
"A Man with Honor and Dignity.."
How is he lower than Elsa?

Just funny and awesome. Incredible hero.

Yes okay, but if it wasn't for Harry and Ron, hermione would be dead! (The mountain troll in the first book). Hermione is extremely overrated, and a huge Mary Sue. She is my least favorite characters in Harry Potter.
What people need to understand is that Harry Ron and Hermione are all equally important! They are all smart brave and loyal (Hence the Golden Trio).
She is also very narrow minded, and she can be really rude! She thinks that only her friends matter. (She punched Draco in the face, insulted Lavender and Luna, etc, etc.)
Okay lets face it Hermione is one of the hottest, smartest, and bravest characters around. And I think we can all agree that if she wasn't Hermione's friend Harry would be dead by the first book
A good role model, realistic character, the whole package. Hermione taught me to stand for what I thought was right when she started S.P.E.W, to act and not just stand there when she punched Draco, and to stand by myself and not depend on someone when she beat Ron up in the Deathly Hallows.
I voted for Harry, but I still think that Hermione deserves a higher spot on this list.
