Here are some of the cartoons that are so mean, mean-spirited, ungodly cruel, and heartless.

The Top Ten

Ren Seeks Help, enough said. - Catacorn

3 Grojband Grojband Grojband is a Canadian animated series developed by Fresh TV and distributed by FremantleMedia, Ltd and created by Todd Kauffman and Mark Thornton. ...read more.

This has got to be the most heartless cartoon ever made in Canada. At least Atomic Puppet had potential to be a DECENT Canadian cartoon. But as for Grojband? THIS SHOW IS HEARTLESS! - SpaceGoofsGeekerBoy

Grojband is not heartless. It's adorable. The only character who is mean is Trina, and she deserves everything that happens to her. - regularponyfan09

Ed Edd n Eddy can be described as mean-spirited but nobody complains about that. Don't get me wrong, I still love Ed Edd n Eddy but it's way more mean-spirited than Grojband could ever hope to be. At least in Grojband the mean characters get karma and the nice ones come out on top. In Ed Edd n Eddy, the torment almost always goes back to the Eds, even when they don't do anything wrong. - regularponyfan09

4 Family Guy Family Guy Family Guy is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a family consisting of parents Peter (Idiotic Dad) and Lois (Nagging Wife), their children Meg (Socially Awkward Daughter) Chris (Idiotic Son), and Stewie ...read more.

Well, in most parts after the first movie. Remember? One Coarse Meal? A Pal for Gary? - SpaceGoofsGeekerBoy

Squidward torture and characters not getting karma after they did something bad (especially Mr. Krabs), this show is so bad in many different levels and out of character.

Post-Movie yes, Pre-Movie no. How are episodes like Band Geeks and Chocolate With Nuts mean? And how is this worse than Mr. Pickles, Pre-Movie SB is one of the best cartoons in cartoon history, how on earth is Mr. Pickles worse, have you ever seen Band Geeks. Plus even the seasonal rot isn't as mean spirited as Mr. Pickles is.

6 Mr. Pickles Mr. Pickles Mr. Pickles is an American animated television series created by Will Carsola and Dave Stewart for Adult Swim. 7 Peppa Pig Peppa Pig

Even THIS show is mean-spirited. - SpaceGoofsGeekerBoy

8 American Dad American Dad American Dad! is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt Weitzman for the Fox Broadcasting Company.

This show is often VERY mean-spirited. - SpaceGoofsGeekerBoy

9 Regular Show Regular Show Regular Show is an American animated television series created by J. G. Quintel for Cartoon Network that premiered on September 6, 2010. The series revolves around the lives of two friends, a blue jay named Mordecai and a raccoon named Rigby—both employed as groundskeepers at a local park.

I used to love Regular Show (as you can tell by my username) but I gave up watching it after Margaret went to college. Not just because I ship her and Mordecai but because the show was getting old and boring by the time Season 6 aired. - regularponyfan09

This show is absolutely terrible. - SpaceGoofsGeekerBoy

10 Drawn Together Drawn Together Drawn Together is an American adult animated sitcom which ran on Comedy Central from October 27, 2004 to November 14, 2007. The series was created by Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein, and uses a sitcom format with a TV reality show setting.

What kind of show IS this? - SpaceGoofsGeekerBoy

The Contenders

11 Kaeloo

This show is hilarious, but it doesn't treat its characters that well. Kaeloo is so mentally unstable she's actually happy when she is about to die, Stumpy gets made fun of and abused by everyone despite the fact that he's mentally disabled, Quack Quack is like Kenny only he gets killed ON PURPOSE, Mr. Cat is a jerk because he wishes to hide his emotional vulnerability and ends up being physically AND emotionally abused to the point where the other characters feel sorry for him, Pretty takes her physical appearance and social status to a ridiculous degree due to her own insecurities, Eugly is nice to everyone but gets treated as a slave or insulted, and Olaf is also made fun of for doing things which his mind has convinced him are legitimately reasonable.

As much as I adore this show, it can be extremely mean to its characters. Everyone ends up being physically and/or emotionally abused. - DesiredUsernameTaken

The sad part of the cruelty is that the nicer someone behaves during an episode, the more harshly they get treated in that episode.

Here's an example from the show which proves it:
(Stumpy is drowning in quicksand)
Stumpy: Hey guys, help me! I'm your friend, right?
Everyone: *looks away and pretends they don't see him*
Stumpy: Our food is in my backpack!
Everyone: *Panics and pulls Stumpy out*

People complain a lot about the ugly, seizure-inducing visuals and not enough about how horrible the characters are! Actually, it's really just how horrible Alfe is! Every single episode he acts like an insufferable a-hole but then in the end he comes out on top because the world caters to him! Ugh! So glad this show didn't last long. - regularponyfan09

The series centers on an extraterrestrial named Zim from the planet Irk, and his mission to conquer Earth and enslave the human race along with his malfunctioning robot servant GIR.

It is undeniable that Jhonen Vazquez has a messed-up sense of humor, as seen in "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac". However, Is's humor is more sarcastic and "LOL RANDOM" with a bit of a dark twist. It’s definitely not as mean-spirted or as scarring as Adult Party Cartoon (at least Zim didn’t torture living things for no valid reason).
