Top 10 Metal Songs Released In 1992
Just awesome. Lyrics, vocals, progression from slow to fast tempo, and the wicked guitar solo, basically everything is great about this song. Not as catchy as other Maiden songs, but still catchier than anything on this list. The bottom line is 'Fear of the Dark' is memorable, because Dickinson just slays it on some pretty difficult vocals, and it's memorability puts at my 6th favorite I'm song, a very good ranking considering the band's one of the best 3 metal bands of all time.
Compare that to other ‘92 songs like Mouth for War, Symphony of Destruction, Walk and Metropolis Pt 1, which fell away from my memory within 10 - 60 minutes of listening. 'Fear of the Dark' is the only one on this whole list that I can recreate from memory the whole song, something I've done with only a handful of other songs It has a great melody, one of metal's best choruses, and melody is what I regard as the most important thing in metal besides a great singer and great guitar solos.
PANTERA was great. WALK is overrated though. it's probably the worst song on side 1 of vulgar. Good song but mouth for war, New level are better
The riff around 2.5 minutes in is one of Maiden's best. Really memorable.
This. Isn't. Metal.
In case you wonder - I didn't add this song.
