Top 10 Funniest The Lord of the Rings Characters

Pippin
"I had the loveliest dream last night! There was a large barrel full of pipe-weed. And we smoked all of it. And then (to Merry), you were sick!"
Peter Jackson hit the center of the board casting Billy for this role. Perfect. Just, I'm starting to tear up. Perfect.
"Oh, that was close!"
"It comes in pints?!?"
"What about breakfast?"
"What about second breakfast?"
"I've always been taller than you! Please Merry, you're what, three foot six? At the most?! Whereas me, I'm pushing three seven!"
Pippin is hilarious! He's always in a good mood, even in the darkest times, and always has a joke in his head. In the darkest, saddest moments of The Lord of the Rings, Pip (and Merry too) will always bring some laughs.

Gimli
I'm not a giant fan of how they made him into a comedic relief in the movies, but I'm not complaining. Hilarious!
Throw me. You have to throw me. I'm too short to jump. Just don't tell the elf.
The comic relief of the series. Without him, it's just a bland movie.

Gollum
Gollum is a fictional character from J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium. I'm not saying I like Gollum, but you have to admit, he is definitely by far the funniest. I HATE Gollum! He's so stupid, but he was the main reason why I was laughing.
Gollum is hilarious! I love the way he speaks and his songs are great! His arguments with himself are also brilliant!
Uh, hello? Pippin's an idiot, but he's never as funny as Gollum. Who can't vote for this slimy little slug?
-
Merry
He and Pippin are pretty much Fred and George before Harry Potter was a thing. Though in the books, I always found him smarter, more curious, and funnier. It's a shame that his character wasn't portrayed that way in the movies. I feel like he and Pippin were set as the comic relief.
Yet, even in the book, they shared some laughable times that made me smile. I'm voting for Merry and not Pippin because I feel that Merry is often an overlooked member of the fellowship, even though he is by far one of the bravest. (I mean, come on, he's a little Hobbit in a big war. That bravery.)
Not #2. Why is he not 2nd only to Pip?!? Oh, I see. Don't be hasty.

Legolas
Legolas is a character in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium. He is a Sindarin Elf from the Woodland Realm and one of the nine members of the Fellowship of the Ring. Legolas was portrayed by Orlando Bloom in Peter Jackson's live-action film adaptations.
Look up on YouTube "fifteen times Legolas was the best part of LOTR." You'll see the funny side of him and be cracking up laughing! Have you seen the Return of the King where they demand to see the eye at the Black Gate? Legolas is trying to look around Aragorn, and he looks half camel, half insect with those eyes!
He is calm in battle. It's just so funny. I love when Gimli says, What's happening out there? and Legolas replies, Shall I describe it to you, or would you like me to find you a box?
I love how sometimes he just stands in the background pulling the weirdest faces.
-

"Gandalf, where are you going?"
"To seek the company of the only one around here who's got any sense."
"And who is that?"
"MYSELF, Mr. Baggins!"
Gandalf and his insults are just gold. All praise Sir Ian McKellen.
Fly, you fools! I love the way he insults even his closest friends with his last three words.

The way he's kind of awkward yet sweet and obsesses over little things is why I love him - and why I relate to him so much.
"If this is some blockhead's idea of a joke, it is in VERY poor taste!"
-
Gríma Wormtongue
He's funny in the book as well as the movie. I can remember reading as a child and imagining a raspy voice saying, "You lie!"

I can't take him seriously whenever he's slobbering or shaking his head, screaming.

Because Elvish kings are the best!
-
Boromir
Yes! For some reason, I just look at him and I laugh! Loved his line in Moria: "They have a cave troll." So funny the way he says it.
One does not simply put Boromir below Frodo in a funniest list.
