Top Ten Reasons Why the Pokemon Charizard is Not Overrated

The Top Ten
1 It Gets Way Too Much Hate

Charizard doesn't deserve hate. No, I'm not a butthurt Charizard fan. I'm telling the truth about the most 'overrated' and over hated Pokemon. It seems that whenever something is popular for a while, people seem to move away from it. Take Umbreon for example. Most newer Pokemon fans or younger people seem to prefer Umbreon to the other revolutions. Trust me, I was one of them. Now my favorite is Leafeon, because I saw how amazing it was, and how many reasons I could come up with to put it at my number one favourite eeveelution.

Now Charizard has the same case as Umbreon, besides Umbreon still being more overrated. People seem to think that if a Pokemon is popular, it shouldn't be loved, which isn't really fair. I myself am not a huge fan of the aka to starters, but Charizard still holds a place in my heart. And no, I didn't choose it in generation one at first.

Most people are moving away from the crowd to praise Blastoise for being 'omigodsewkewl! '. People HATE ...more

About 70% of people say he is overrated. I say he is underrated because most people think almost EVERYONE is a Charizard fanboy and that is why they don't like him.

Yeah but charizard can't do anything to a ROCK TYPE so yeah if you battling a hiker u are screwed (unless if he has ground type)

There's more charizard lovers then charizard haters. Look at the polls. He's been rated "Best Starter Pokémon" on this website itself!

2 It's Not the Only Pokemon Who Has Two Mega Evolutions

Charizard having two mega evolutions is actually a pretty cool idea for reasons besides just being a Charizard The only other Pokemon to receive 2 Megas is Mewtwo Who is not a natural Pokemon but in fact a Genetically altered clone of Mew So why can it Mega evolve when Mew can't? Consider this about Mewtwo It was a man made Pokemon thus it's plausible to assume it's mega stones are also man made after studying other Mega stones and discovering the properties that cause the phenomenon to occur. Note that While Charizard Y form is very similiar to the Base form Charizard much like Blastoise and Venusaur's forms follow similiarly with their Mega forms as well and Most other Mega's while they may have type changes they still keep similar forms to their normal state but then why does Charizard X appear so Drastically different than it's normal form? Answer? Because it's a man made mega like Mewtwos Evidence? Consider the Pokemon Origin's special Red received a mega stone from Mr Fuji who ...more

Obviously people haven't heard of Mewtwo, who also I guilty of this. So what if Mewto is a Legendary? Rayquaza, Groudon, and Kyogre are also legendaries and I don't see them with two Mega Evolutions! It's one of the originals? Wel, if that is the case, then how come Mew, Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos don't have two Mega Eolutions? They don't even have one!

Yes, the other is Mewtwo, the "strongest" legendary Pokémon. Charizard has no reason to share having 2 Megas with MEWTWO. The only way it would make sense for charizard to have 2 is if the other starters got them too. But they didn't.

3 It's Not the Only Pokemon With a Quadruple Weakness to Rock Type Pokemon Moves

Yeah, he isn't. The other Pokémon that are affected by this also have a major weakness. It's like saying "I can't get past this bridge! But it's fine because 3 other people can't either". It doesn't change how weak charizard is to this.

So you charizard haters say stealth rock halfs charizard's health, have you heard of moltres? Huh! Or volcarona, talonflame, vivillon, butterfree, etc. Huh!

VIvilloinn, Moltres, Talonflame, Volcorona, FLetchinder, etc. They all have a 4x weakness to rock/a quadruple weakness to rock too! As well! Too!

4 It's Not the Weakest Pokemon

He isn't the strongest pokemon.

He isn't the strongest either.

I can't believe that this Pokemon is ncurrently number 3 on the lis tof weakes tpokemon iirc. So wha tif it has a bad rock weakness? It is actually viable in RU and NU and there are TONS of Pokemon and I meant TONS of Pokemon the taren't even viable in PU!

5 It's Design is Not Terrible

Being "generic"doesn't make a design terrible. Rayquaza'sdesign is also a bit "generic" because its like a "generic" serpent draogn but people still like the tdesign right? But people still liek Rayquaza's design right? Yes! They do! Or at least I think that they do! I also like Rayquaza's design! Too! but I also like Charizard's design! Too!

Basic designs are easier to identify than complex designs most, if not all of the time.

6 Ash Ketchum's Charizard Defeating Gary Oak's Blastoise Actually Did Make Sense

Ash Ketchum's CHarizard had recieved special training at the Charicific Valley whuile Gary Oak's Blastoise was never ever confirmed to ave recieved any kind of special training. Obviously Ash Ketchum's Charizard was indeed still a lot stronger than Gary Oak's Blastoise.

What can I say he had the same badges as Gary, but Garys Blastoise listened to him from earlier on, meaning he probably was a lower level. That, and Charizard received his training from the Charicific Valley

7 Charizard is Not the Only One of Ash Ketchum's Pokemon That Ash Ketchum Has Actually Brought Back Before

Quite a few of his Pokemon made their comebacks during the Sinnoh League.

8 It's Not the Most Popular Pokemon Anymore

It never was. Pikachu was always more popular. Now Charizard is overshadowed and despised by everyone. Poor Charizard.

It's not even th mos tpopular starter Pokemon anymore. If anything, Venusaur and Blaziken are!

It's second most popular (beaten by pikachu)

How is Venusaur more popular?

9 The Original TCG Card Costing So Much Makes Sense

Obviously, the rare the card, the more expensive it is.

10 You Can't Say "Charizard is a Good Pokémon" Anymore Without Being Bombarded with Charizard Haters.
The Contenders
11 It's On the Cover of Pokemon Red

Yes, But people as kids would obviously want to pick the one with the "coolest" Pokemon. When you first look at it. You would probably want to choose the dragon. even though his design isn't that great.

Blastoise and Venusaur have covers too. As does Pikachu.

12 It's Underrated From All The Hate It Gets
13 Grass is weak to Fire

I wiped out my friend's venusaur with a CHARMELEON!

14 It's the Only Pokémon that Has Its Own Hatebase

Garbodor, Vanniluxe, Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Rattata, Mudkip, Chespin, Pikachu, Kabuto, Turtwig, Tepig, Etc,

15 He is a Childhood Hero

If you don't like him that's okay but you know you wanted that charizard card in 1999

16 It is Overshadowed by Blastoise and Venusaur
17 It is Number Three on the Weakest Pokémon List
18 It Only Has Three Weaknesses

Some Pokemon have less but some have more too. The Pokemon with less are called "stronger" but th stats are what make a Pokemon "strong" or "weak".

19 It Has Six Resistances, Two of Which are Doubled (Grass and Bug).
20 It's from the First Generation Which the Fandom Hate
21 Charizard is from the Pokemon Craze
22 You Can't Say You Like Charizard Anymore Without Causing a Flame War
