Top 10 Best Sonic TV Shows

This is a list of the Sonic TV shows from best to worst, including Sonic OVA.

The Top Ten
  1. Sonic X

Sonic X is a Japanese anime television series created by TMS Entertainment. It is based on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise published by Sega. The series originally aired in 2003 and features Sonic and his friends being transported to Earth where they battle Dr. Eggman and his robots.

I thought this was slightly better than SatAM. The reason is because SatAM was a bit too dark and really disturbed me as a kid. Sonic X, on the other hand, had its dark moments but it gave me a breather from all the suspense with humor and tame filler episodes. I like SatAM too, but it scared me too much as a kid to take the No. 1 spot.

Sonic X is interesting without the darker toned edginess that made SatAM give me nightmares about being turned into a robot slave as a kid. I still occasionally have the same nightmares, to be honest.

Glad to see this at number one. I can't stand any of the other cartoons. I think Sonic X is the best of the bunch. The characters are closest to their game counterparts and the action was good. It was also awesome to see the plotlines of the Sonic Adventure series made into an anime.

  2. Sonic Boom

Sonic Boom is a computer-animated television series produced by Sega of America, Inc. and Technicolor Animation Productions. It was created in collaboration with Lagardère Thématiques and Jeunesse TV. The series aired on Cartoon Network in the United States, and on Canal J and Gulli in France.

I find this show to be absolutely delightful, with its dry humor and charming characters. The jokes are legit and funny, reminding me of a sitcom more than an action cartoon. This show is downright blissful, and you will fall in love with every character. Sonic has the biggest mood ever in this show (Roger Craig Smith is very talented), and Amy is actually mature. It's a totally different take on the Sonic universe, and I find it awesome!

Probably one of the best Sonic shows I've seen in a while. Every episode (though some are hit-or-miss in the first season) has a good balance of action and humor mixed into it. Especially the humor. Specifically, the self-aware humor, fourth wall breaks, and all the pop culture references that somehow manage to be cleverly incorporated into any point in an episode while being relevant and not too tacked on for the most part.

  3. Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic SatAM)

In my opinion, one of the best with a darkish, mature tone. Good storylines and building episodes that had good continuity, with episodes that could stand on their own. The content truly had you getting wrapped up in the characters' lives, and that's huge in an animated universe.

A bunch of great 90s voice talent led the force. You'll recognize Jaleel White, Jim Cummings, Kath Soucie, Christine Cavanaugh, and Cree Summer from a bunch of Nicktoons and other 90s animations.

Just really a short-lived series but a pleasure to watch. It's awesome that they ended on a cliffhanger.

This shouldn't be bronze. This should be silver or gold. Why is Boom's terrible character design above this?

  4. Sonic Mania Adventures

My only wish is that it was an actual series and not just an eleven-minute one. I mean that there were only five episodes, all of them adding up to 11 minutes in total.

Based off one of the best Sonic games!

  5. Sonic the Hedgehog (OVA)

I would put this in at least top 5 or 6, and even though the 2020 Sonic movie is great, this one is better.

  6. Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog is an American animated series produced by DiC Animation City and Bohbot Entertainment. It is based on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series produced by Sega. The show originally aired in syndication in 1993.

I like this one best because the slapstick is on point.

  7. Sonic Underground

Sonic Underground is an animated television series that was co-produced by DIC Productions L.P. The show originally aired in 1999 and features Sonic the Hedgehog along with his siblings, Sonia and Manic. The storyline follows their quest to find their missing mother and restore peace to their kingdom... read more

I wish they hadn't ended so soon on this show... IT WAS SO GOOD! It's my third favorite Sonic show and I would agree this show is better than SatAM Sonic the Hedgehog. I still do not like Sally Acorn whatsoever!

Anyways, other than the bad cheap songs, I like this show. It's very entertaining. And you Red Echidna fans out there (Yes, I mean Knuckles), this is your show! KNUCKLES APPEARS IN THE SHOW A FEW TIMES! And, I wish with all my heart that Sonia and Manic were popular characters for once!

I wish they would have been able to at least finish this one's story arc.

  8. Team Sonic Racing Overdrive

  9. Sonic Prime

Though the Sonic movies are better than all of the shows, Sonic Prime should be first in my personal opinion. It's a kids' show, sure, but it had its moments. The humor was hilarious, and for the first time in forever, I feel like we got an accurate representation of Shadow.

They may have left out his backstory, but instead of portraying him as an emotionless edgelord, they gave him feelings. He cares. As you can probably tell, my favorite part of the show was Shadow.

I do feel like they dragged out season three a little too long, and season one was a bit boring, but the characters hold a special place in my heart. Sonic went through a lot of character development. Nine was just a precious little kid who needs a hug when he wasn't trying to kill everyone. He really was just a scared kid who had been bullied his entire life without any friends.

  10. Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps

  11. The Contenders
  12. Sonic: Nazo Unleashed
