Top Ten Worst Super Smash Brothers Brawl Characters

The worst characters to use in Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

The Top Ten
  1. Jigglypuff

Jigglypuff, known in Japan as Purin, is a round, pink character recognized for its ability to sing lullabies that put others to sleep. Jigglypuff has appeared in various games, anime episodes, and Super Smash Bros. titles.

The sing attack has been powered down and you don't get long to get that free shot in also it's extremely risky as you leave yourself open. Sleep attack, again is powerful if it connects but if you're off a little you're open to take a fully charged smash attack. roll out is ok but can be hard to control. Her smash attacks also don't have not a long range. I hate this character just a kirby clone but without a triple jump. I really wish that the guys at Nintendo would put another character in besides jiggly puff.

Jigglypuff is a good character if you practice. People don't have the patience to fight with Jigglypuff. She is good if you use her properly. Charging up rollout isn't using her properly. People just need to know when to attack and where. If she really did suck, why would the developers keep her in the game. They didn't keep pichu, because he actually did suck. He was just a bad version of pikachu who damaged himself.

  2. Olimar

Olimar is a fictional character from Nintendo's Pikmin video game series, created by Shigeru Miyamoto. He is a small astronaut who crash-lands on a mysterious planet and relies on the help of the native Pikmin creatures to survive. Olimar first appeared in the 2001 game Pikmin for the Nintendo GameCube... read more

You've got to be kidding me. Olimar in brawl is easily one of the most versatile and deadly characters in smash history. He can rack up damage like a boss with a constant stream of pikmin throws, and his smash attacks are very reliable and able to KO fairly easy without being punished. His grab range is truly something to behold, and can stop most any approach. Although his aerials suffer from a lack of range that his other attacks rely on, they are still quick and strong enough to hold their own against anyone. His only true weakness is his gimpable recovery and light weight, but his immense strengths outweigh these weaknesses. He's top tier for a good reason. The reason he's up here is because a bunch of incompetent n00bs never learned to use one of the most powerful characters in smash history.

  3. Princess Peach

Princess Peach is a major character in the Mario Bros. franchise. She is the lead female character in the series. She is usually the character who needs to be rescued in most Mario games, but she has also appeared as a playable character in main-series Mario games, including Super Mario 3D World, Super... read more

The problem with Princess Peach lies within the mechanics of Brawl itself. In Melee, Peach a fantastic character, because she brought something completely new to the table: she was a floaty character. This opened up a whole new realm of possibilities in a fast-paced game like Melee.

But in Brawl, everything is much slower-paced than Melee, and the jumps are all much floater than they were in Melee. As a result, Peach is now a character specifically built around her floatiness, in a game where every character had a floaty jump. Thus making her absolutely worthless. And her horrendous Final Smash doesn't help her at all. It's a shame, because Peach was an excellent character in Melee.

  4. Ganondorf

Ganon, referred to as Ganondorf in his human form, is a fictional character and the central antagonist of Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series. He is a power-hungry Gerudo who possesses the Triforce of Power and seeks to conquer Hyrule by obtaining the remaining pieces of the Triforce. Ganon has appeared... read more

He's a strong old man, but if you look at the tier list, he's really low, and for a good reason. He's slow and can't approach, unless you want to risk a side+B or down+B. The ultimate counter picks are faster than normal characters, the best one being Sonic. You're best chance at getting a single attack against those characters, is for the opponent to look at your character choice, show pity and stand right at the ledge, and then wait for you to: 1. Fully charge F+Smash 2. Reverse Warlock Punch 3. Volcano Kick 4. Suicide Flame Choke 5. Throw them off and meteor them with Down+B or D-air. Otherwise, you're pretty much screwed.

This guy's power is actually nothing to laugh at. His forward smash fully charged and connecting the strongest hitbox kills as low as 46 percent, his reverse Aerial Warlock Punch can KO as low as 12 percent, his up tilt can kill at 0 percent if the opponent is on the ledge, and his dair (in the air) can kill at 0 percent depending how far from the bottom the opponent is and how good their recoveries are. Good heavens, those numbers make even Ike proud. But Ganondorf has the shortest grab range which is harmful because almost every character is faster requring Ganondorf practice to get a grab, he has atrocious recovery, and a very slow movement. Slow attacks, walk, dash, and jumps. Wow. Even thought Ganondorf has a very heavy weight and fats falling speed making him good for survivng KOs, he is the tallest character, though most heavyweights have a size problem. Ganondorf is also the only character in the whole SERIES to have no advantegous or even matchups. FAIL. Ganondorf requires lots of practice and luck to be effective, more so than anybody else.

  5. Yoshi

Yoshi, once romanized as Yossy, is a fictional anthropomorphic dinosaur featured in video games published by Nintendo. He often appears as a sidekick and helper to Mario, playing key roles in many of Nintendo's most popular titles. Yoshi is especially well known for his appearances in the Yoshi's Island... read more

Yoshi is trash in brawl. If you have a meteor smash, then you can beat Yoshi with relative ease. His recovery is among the worst in smash history.

Yoshi doesn't deserve this spot here. Yoshi is my main because of how he can blast his enemies out of the map if they're at a certain point where they're hurt a lot

A bit hard to use but still good. Also why does nobody realize that his double jump is actually his recovery? His up-b propels you up a bit too

  6. The Ice Climbers

Definitely the worst character (s) in the game. First, they should NOT be allowed, because unlike every other character in the whole game (and in the original game and in melee), they are 2 characters together (which I think adds unfairness to the game). Second, almost all if their attacks are sluggish and not that powerful. And third, they have a pretty low running speed and jump height. Their smash attack is reasonable, but can easily be avoided by characters that can fly or have a high jump height (like Kirby, Jigglypuff, Peach, etc.). They also cry like babies when they lose, which annoys the heck out of me.

In my opinion, they are the worst character all around. Slow movement, low jumps, weak attacks, and are two characters when I think that should not be allowed.

I would recommend not practicing with these characters ever. Practice with somebody that fits your needs (if you want a speedy character, or somebody with powerful attacks). I have played ssbb (and ssbm) for quite a while, and ice climbers have been one of the easiest opponents for me.

  7. Diddy Kong

Diddy Kong is a fictional character in the Donkey Kong Country video game series. He first appeared in the 1994 game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo. Diddy Kong is known as Donkey Kong's sidekick and is a playable character in several games.

Ok first off, that guy just called Olimar, Oliver. So he obviously knows nothng about this game. Now let me say this, Diddy Kong isn't officially ranked as the second best character next to Meta Knight for no reason. He has amazing recovery, great utility, quick attacks, and average knockout ability. If you know how to use him, you win.

When you pause the game and look at his face while being hit by someone or something, his pupils shrink and he looks like an idiot! No matter if his mouth is closed or open. Plus he's really weak! Even weaker than Oliver! This should be higher on the list!

  8. Mario

Mario, originally named Jumpman, is the main character of the Super Mario Bros. franchise and was created by Nintendo of Japan's game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. Mario appears in nearly every game in the series, including many spin-off titles, with a few exceptions such as New Super Luigi U, the Luigi's... read more

Honestly, I am very disappointed with Mario. I love him on every other game BUT this one. He is WEAK. Very sad considering how well he does in other games. In this all he can do is punch, kick, shoot flames. Nothing compared to other mario games. Where is the world renown ground pound? I can't even use him, to weak

I like him on every game except this! He's really weak! All he does is either kick/punch or shoot flames at people! I still love the Mario games and himself! But not on Smash Brothers Brawl! Sorry Mario! But you should leave this game if they make a Super Smash Brothers Brawl 2!

  9. Lucas

The fact that Lucas is on this list must be a bad joke. Lucas has SO MUCH potential if you actually take the time to learn how to use him. He has a surprising amount of power, with some of his smashes rivalling even Ike's in terms of raw power. He has a healthy range of different projectiles to use, as well as a recovery move that can also be used for edge-guarding or to turn Lucas himself into a deadly projectile, dealing upwards of 30% damage if full contact is made. Ganondorf himself only has a handful of moves capable of dealing so much damage.

Plus, Lucas has a healing option with his PK Magnet, a decent Final Smash and a far more useful PK Fire than Ness. Lucas does not belong on this list, period.

  10. Wario

Wario is a character in Nintendo's Mario series who was originally designed as an antagonist to Mario. His motives are driven by greed, and he will often side with whoever offers him the greatest reward. Although typically portrayed as selfish and mischievous, Wario has become a central figure in his... read more

Stop picking on Wario. He is supposed to be a comedy relief character for Brawl since it is so serious. That's why he farts, picks his noses, scratches his butt, waves his butt on the screen, and eats Garlic.

Besides, they are a lot more annoying characters than Wario. I'm looking at you Meta Knight.

Wario is a comedy relief character because Brawl is too serious. He picks his nose, and eats people (Kirby/Dedede swallow people alive! ), farts, and shakes his booty. He is annoying because people spam his bike. He is my main, and is really funny.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Dr Mario

  13. ?

    Pichu

Pichu is an Electric-type Baby Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It evolves into Pikachu when it reaches a high level of friendship. Pichu belongs to the Undiscovered Egg Group and is No. 172 in the Pokédex. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Pichu was often seen as a joke character due to its weak stats... read more

Pichu was in Melee, but didn't return for Brawl, actually...

Basically Pikachu, but he can damage himself.

  14. The Contenders
  15. King Dedede

King Dedede is a fictional character and the primary antagonist in Nintendo and HAL Laboratory's Kirby video game series. He is typically portrayed as a rival to Kirby, though his role varies between games. King Dedede is recognizable for his hammer weapon and royal attire.

Yes! Thank you! Some person called him sexy one time! He's not even sexy! He's just a stupid, dumb, unintelligent, greedy dumbass and hates escargoon and Kirby for no damn reason! And he is super slow and weak! He just sucks! And how is a blue penguin sexy!? He sucks bad he makes jiggly puff look strong! He is the only character along with wario I despise! And he is just so annoying and treats everyone like trash! Enough said

What? King Dedede shouldn't be on this list, because he's AWESOME, I mean, OK, maybe the first time is a bit difficult, but only the first time, once your get used to him, he's awesome, I mean, he runs fast despite being heavy and he has supreme attacks with is wooden hammer. And his chain grab is AWESOME!

    KING DEDEDE for the win!

  16. Rob

Come on. Who actually favors this bland character over all the others? He's just... A robot. Sure some of his moves are good, especially his recovery, but his Final Smash? No. How are people supposed to get excited by some robot nobody knows getting into a fighting game when there's other great choices?

R.O.B. Is one of the most OVERHATED characters ever. People hate him because he is a crappy peripheral. But R.O.B. Was given character development as the ancient minister. Don't let the fact that he was a crappy peripheral affect your view of him as a FIGHTER. What about Mr. Game and Watch?

  17. Luigi

Luigi is a major character in video games and related media produced by Nintendo. He was originally introduced as a green-colored palette swap of Mario and is portrayed as Mario's younger, taller fraternal twin brother.

Created by legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, Luigi appears in many... read more

He literally kills every one with his down taunt how surprising is that? We'll if a enemy is hanging on the ledge just use luigi down taunt to meteor mash them to the ground. How shocking!

Luigi's has amazing attacks and an amazing final smash. His b-side is good and if you do it right his b-up is amazing! His c-stick moves are good and he can punch well. Luigi's is not awful!

I thought he would be better... Boy was I wrong. His final smash is so stupid and does nothing at all. Weird dancing around that stuns opponents for barely any time?

  18. Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog is the title character and protagonist of the video game series of the same name released by SEGA. He has since appeared in numerous spin-off comics, several television shows, an animated OVA, and a live-action movie trilogy. Known for his incredible speed and signature blue color... read more

Sonic is faster than every other character, he can run on the f-0 stage with a bunny hood. He uses items the best because of his speed. He destroys everyone on the field with his final smash, and grabs the smash ball quickly because he is fast. He has excellent aerials and annihilates the ground with a dash hit, and can grab fast enough to grab a blocking opponent. If you can make use of his speed, you will win.

STOCK STRATEGY:Start by running away, get some sucker punches. Then when you see a smash ball, run and break it. Proceed to win from there, works every time.

Sonic is actually a pretty good character. He is a lightweight so he get's knocked back easier, but you have to use his speed to your advantage. And if you get good at dodging in air and ground, you have a better chance of avoiding most attacks. His attacks lie in his speed. Most fight's I win is because I play as sonic. Depends on the type of characters your used to though. If you can't play as fast characters, then your better off using someone like Ike or Falco (he is pretty good to) but you have to know how to use the characters. Just my longgg longgg opinion.

  19. Wolf

To be very honest, I really don't like Wolf. He controlled like absolute garbage. I'm pretty glad he's not a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U, and I hope he never returns in the roster. We don't need another Fox clone. Falco is enough!

Wolf is more of a fox clone than falco is. At least falco has a unique move set besides his specials

The only problems are the final smash clone and his crowd cheers!

  20. Ness

Ness is a male video game character who made his first appearance in the 1995 Super Nintendo Entertainment System game EarthBound, known in Japan as Mother 2. He is the main protagonist of the game and uses psychic abilities in battle. Ness later became a recurring playable character in the Super Smash... read more

Competitively, he is terrible. He can be 0-deathed very easily by Marth with his extra grab release frames. Casually, however, he is very powerful. He is a very versatile and unique character, with a wide array of finishers. I main him, though. Purely from my love for his home series, EarthBound.

Ness is a crappy idiot 5 year old boy. he just squawks and squeals like a chipmunk on AIDS. I mean, in SSF2, he hurts himself with PK thunder so he can get back on the field. Pathetic. Oh and his starstorm what I can easily avoid that by going over to the damn side. He is so crappy and weak, why would all mother fan like mother it's such a crappy game!

  21. Zelda

Princess Zelda is a fictional character in Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda video game series, created by Shigeru Miyamoto and introduced in its original entry in 1986. She is typically portrayed as a member of the Hyrule royal family and often possesses magical abilities or wisdom. Zelda plays a central... read more

You can dislike me all you want! The only reason that she's good is because of those damn lagging ass rounds on wifi! I admit it she can be a good character but the lagging just make her and Ike seem strong when actual weak people are using them. There are only a handfull of actual good Zelda players. I'm pretty sure if none of the rounds on wifi were lagging I would be beating the crap out of those annoying Ikes, Zeldas, and Links! I sure hope the next Smash Bros has no lagging!

Dude Zelda should not be on this list I won classic with her 5 times on INTENSE! She's awesome! She can turn into Sheik and go all Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris on your butts!

  22. Fox

Once you train with him and learn how to use all his moves you can't lose with him

  23. Lucario

Lucario was created by Ken Sugimori and first appeared as a central character in the film Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. It was later introduced in the main series games with Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Lucario has since appeared in numerous sequels, spinoff titles, and a wide range of merchandise... read more

You know what I just hate?

Genwunners and Melee fans ranting about how "Lucario replaced Mewtwo". And no, Greninja doesn't get any mercy either. First off, Lucario did not replace Mewtwo. Mewtwo very well could've been in the game but wasn't due to time constraints. Second, BE QUIET. I am sick of people complaining about how horrible it is that Mewtwo was replaced by a stupid blue dog and a stupid blue frog, and when he was released for DLC in SSB4, people complained even more because Mewtwo "sucked". Lucario is awesome; I'm not a competitive Smash player, therefore I can play as whatever "sucky" character I choose and like it (maybe except for Rob and Olimar, but I'm just downright bad at them). His Aura attacks powering up over time really helps him and makes him a lot more unique than most characters, and his floatiness makes him sorta hard to hit. And Lucario is my second favorite Pokemon anyway, so...

Stop complaining so much about Lucario replacing Mewtwo, and then whining about the sucky Mewtwo introduced in SSB4. Thank you.

  24. Mr. Game and Watch

Mr. Game & Watch is a 2D silhouette character created by Nintendo. He represents an amalgamation of characters from the Game & Watch handheld consoles. The character was introduced in the Super Smash Bros. series and serves as a tribute to Nintendo's early handheld games.

Mr. Game and Watch is so lame Nintendo should quit being nostalgic and think of a real character, he was not even important to the story, they used him to make R.O.B. clones, so even Nintendo knows he's lame. , his move are boring, and his place has to be the dullest area to fight in who wants to be 2d, and fight in his video game.

Olimar- is a bad fighter, but he is useable, I like seeing the face on people when I win with him.

Ganondwarf- you think they would give him a sword, and not make him a knock-off captain falcon

You kidding me? Mr. Game & Watch is my favorite, and has kept that status since Melee. He's got a whole lot of potential, and hecklers like most of the people who commented before me just aren't giving him a chance at all.

  25. Zero Suit Samus

Not too girly like Peach, but what does she do besides shoot people? But she is sneaky and saved Pikachu. Peach would stand there and cry and run if she's in that position of saving toad.

  26. Captain Falcon

Douglas Jay Falcon, known commonly as Captain Falcon, is a playable character in the racing video game series F-Zero. He first appeared in the original F-Zero game released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990. Captain Falcon is also a prominent fighter in the Super Smash Bros. series... read more

Captain Falcon can spam Raptor Boost to continuously hit slow characters in the air and follow them on the ground because he is fast. Captain Falcon can destroy people and their souls with his spam.

He's Great in Melee and 64, and 4

But in Brawl he's awful, his knee was nerfed, he can't approach at all, all of his attacks can be canceled with a simple jab etc. He's one of the worst characters in the game

He is good but the Falco Punch is too overpowered. Only one hit with it can kill an opponent.

  27. Meta Knight

Meta Knight is a fictional character from the Kirby series of video games created by Nintendo and HAL Laboratory. He is often portrayed as one of Kirby's rivals, although he sometimes allies with Kirby to battle common enemies.... read more

Meta Knight should go bang his future arch-rival who will definitely be Princess Daisy of Sarasa Land everywhere in Western Canada.

Also, when Meta Knight has his mask & cape off, his facial appearance will contain teeth on Sonic the Hedgehog characters. Also, he will have a big, cartoonishly bulbous nose to pick. Meta Knigh will have deep brown pigtails similar to Bowser Jr's, only on two sides & larger.

How is meta knight, Kirby, link, toon link, and lucario on this list? They are my favorites, and boss! Kirby sucks people in my mouth, and rapid punches, lucario is boss, meta knight has a tornado and rapid strike, toon link has everything you need, and link same thing, that's why they shouldn't be here.

  28. Kirby

Kirby is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Kirby series of video games, owned by Nintendo and developed by HAL Laboratory. His first appearance was in Kirby's Dream Land, released in 1992 for the Game Boy. The pink, spherical hero is known for his ability to inhale enemies and copy their... read more

Whoever put Kirby on the list is an idiot. Kirby is one of the best characters in the game. I wish Kirby will use his final smash and cook you!

Kirby sucks... And by that, I mean he's awesome. What's cooler than being able to copy the ability of every SSB character by sucking them up?

Kirby is awesome. The only people who say he is bad are the people that can't use him.

  29. Falco

Falco is awesome! I could not stop winning with Falco when I was playing Brawl at a friend's house. His Final Smash is better than Fox's in my opinion, he is a bit more of a sturdy character to me than Fox and he looks and sounds a lot cooler than Fox in my opinion. I don't like his voice in Sm4sh though (I don't like Fox's either, but Falco is just horrible).

I love Falco, one of my mains besides Lucario, Charizard and Ness. I won time and time again with Falco. His Final Smash gets a lot more kills than Fox or Wolf, and he is just so much cooler! He doesn't have Fox's annoying voice, either.
