Top 10 Best Things that Have Happened in 2021

It seemed sad that there was a list for "worst things that have happened in 2021" over halfway through the month and not a best things one, so I have made this list. And yes, I know using numbers instead of letters for this one list is strange for me, but this makes it almost identical to the "worst things 2021" one. Enjoy!
The Top Ten
1 COVID-19 vaccine productions boost

The productions of COVID-19 vaccines continue to boost, and more and more people are getting vaccinated every day. My mom's already been, and hopefully I will be in the next couple of months.

Hi can someone please add the Perseverance rover landing on Mars to this list? I don't have an account and can't add anything else without it.

The only thing I am concerned is the side effects, especially for older patients. But other than that this deserves its #1 place.

This vaccine might be dangerous, they skipped testing it on animals

2 Biden gets inaugurated

I'm glad that we elected a man who is appropriate for this moment, and urged every American to come together with challenges ahead.
He told us to bring America together, don't get disagreements into tribal fights, have our leaders speak out against lies, and wish a silent prayer on the four hundred thousand dead from the virus.

Not only do I want Trump gone, but Biden has a lot of great policies, and a great character. Trump didn't have any of that. However, Biden isn't in his prime anymore, but he's pretty good for his age nevertheless.

This should be first. It’s great that that terrorist is gone. He was the worst thing that happened to America since the World Wars.

Okay, Trump supporters on this website. I respect you. Just because I think Trump is super despicable and a sociopath like the rest of the world outside the US, doesn't mean I don't like you. There. That's done. But yeah, today, 4 hours and 8 minutes, wait, scratch that, 4 hours and 9 minutes ago Trump officially left the white house, and Biden got inaugurated. Hooray!
Edit: wow, he’s doing better than I thought so far, I’m impressed! I thought he would be a decent but boring president but nope. He’s already made some great decisions I support, though it’s too early to have a strong opinion.

3 United Nations declares 2021 the International Year of Peace and Trust

It's true! They're obviously just trying to lift our spirits during this sad time, but whatever. It's still a pretty great thing that not many people know. Now you know.

I didn't know this?

Lol.🤣 At least Trump didn't start WW3.

4 The African Continental Free Trade Area comes into effect

This does have some negative benefits as well as positive ones, but it should still go on here. For those of you who don't know, the African Continental Free Trade Area is a free trade area that was founded in 2018 but didn't come into effect until January 1, 2021.

5 The United Nations declares 2021 the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables

Hooray! Now all the carrots and broccoli and kale are going to form by the masses and help us fight covid-19! Or not. This might have been put into effect to help moms and dads feed their kids veggies, but it does seem odd.

Weird, but congrats to those strict parents.

6 Donald Trump is impeached for the second time

There was a time where I, wouldn't say stood up for Trump, but at least played Devil's Advocate, in that yeah he's bad, but he's not THAT bad. However, with his mishandling of a global pandemic, and his desperate attempts to cling on to power by any means necessary, he's shown that he's not fit to be in office.
And frankly I hope America learns from their lesson, and never elects anyone this mad with power again.

I really do hope that it's successful this time. He needs to be stopped before something really bad happens. The attack on the Capitol was terrorism, and if they can stop him, his supporters will follow.

Never in history has it happened before, and to have that being accomplished is a truly contagious embarrassment. Try defending him now, republicans!

I am actually not happy about this. I wanted Trump's last day to be January 20 and never hear from him again, but now we have to hear trials and stuff.

7 Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are vaccinated

Many other celebrities have already been vaccinated, including these two, Steve Martin, Ian McKellen, Martha Stewart, Joe Biden, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kamala Harris, and much more.

It’s good to see that vaccinations have been taking place.

8 The border between Saudi Arabia and Qatar reopens

There's not much else to say about this one, but maybe it will inspire peace between the two countries.

It'll be like a reunion.

9 The United Nations declares 2021 the international year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development

I'm sorry that I had to put in all these things that the UN said, but like I said I had to fill in the space here.

10 The United States rejoins the Paris Climate Accord and the World Health Organization

Yay! Trump was really making it obvious that he's fine with the world burning by stopping the fight against climate change as much as he could, and there was actually a noticeable decrease in the environment while he was president, but hopefully now that they're back in those two organisations, the damage Trump has indirectly done and been a big part of will be repaired.

The Contenders
11 The Maple Leafs beat the Canadiens 5-4 in overtime in the first game of the season

Take that, Canadiens! Okay, I had to put this on here. I'm a Torontonian, what do you expect. Also, sadly almost nothing good has happened yet in 2021 so I had to put in a few space-fillers. This was a very intense game, and had everyone on the edge of their seats.

Well, congrats to your team, I guess.

12 Kamala Harris becomes the first female and black Vice-President of the United States

It warms my heart that she is the first colored and woman vice president in American history.

Congrats to her.

Maybe she isn’t the best candidate but it’s a big milestone for the United States.

13 Donald Trump banned from Twitter

Banning him was a good thing. Maybe a bit extreme, but it was still good. Maybe a better approach would have been to have people review his tweets before officially posting them, because then anything horribly offensive and degrading to all the minorities and people he detests, usually unfairly, would not be posted and the few ok things he said would be.

Looks like he can make more baseless claims of voter fraud now. Too soon?

14 Reddit Users lead a Revolt Against Wall Street Hedge Funds

YES! TAKE THAT YOU ELITIST SCUMBAGS! Watching Gamestop, yes Gamestop, as well as AMC surge thanks to their stocks rising and Hedge Funds has lost $5 billion! All thanks to Reddit investors who are just ordinary people.

Guys this is a case of poor fighting back against the rich. This is GLORIOUS. No one should be supporting those elitist bastards.

Yes this is absolutely amazing. All of those rich billionaires deserve it.

Great job. Everyone involved in this.

Truly a remarkable reddit moment.

15 Joe Biden cancels Keystone XL pipeline

I don’t have a very strong opinion on this decision, because there are some quite good things about it and quite bad things. Alberta depends on their oil as a province, and this is a big lost to their economy, which is a bad thing, but this is good because it really is going to help the environment, and it shows Biden is all for the environment, which is really important after the damage to our environment that ensued while Trump was in office.

16 BLM gets nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize

Your message is good. Do yourself a favor BLM and try not to get associated with actually bad groups that hurt your image though.

17 The number of COVID-19 vaccinations administered worldwide exceeds 100 million

I am pleasantly surprised at how fast that number has grown.

I added this to the list because, I mean, big milestone!

18 Tampa Bay Buccaneers become the first NFL team to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium

Now they also won the Super Bowl at their home stadium. Congratulations to the Buccaneers they made history.

I guess this means Buccaneers gets homefield advantage for the Super Bowl. How interesting indeed.

I don't like Tom Brady, but this is quite interesting.

19 Caillou gets removed from PBS Kids

Caillou got removed from PBS Kids earlier this year, now, Caillou is not cancelled, as Caillou's New Adventures still airs weekly on YouTube, but the original series will not be shown on TV anymore

Took long enough

20 Olivia Rodrigo's Drivers License hits #1 on the Hot 100
21 Jeff Bezos announces that he will step down as CEO of Amazon and names Andy Jassy as his replacement

This was quite surprising. It happened February 2nd, 2020

I never liked that guy.

22 The Weeknd's Super Bowl halftime performance

I don't keep track of many Super Bowl performances (thus I don't really compare them either) but this performance in particular was fantastic. Abel killed it every second he was up there, and that transition to Blinding Lights at the end was excellent too.

23 Keeping Up With the Kardashians is cancelled

Finally! After brainwashing young girls for 14 years, this sickening show is being cancelled. Good riddance!

24 Cobra Kai season 3 released on New Year's Day
25 Portugal holds presidential elections
