Worst Chess Openings

The Top Ten
1 Fools Mate

Infamous iconic blunder where king gets trapped in two moves. One is not very mindful of huge gaps when it comes to playing offensively or defensively.

If you are trying to win the game, losing it in the fastest possible way has got to be the worst possible opening.

It is probly the worst opening and why is that why would a person do something like that it is basically a death threat for the king.

Oh yeah this honestly is the worst opening. I can't understand how people lose to this

2 Rook Pawn Opening

Cringe and cringe. No center control and no opening strategy.

Hahaahahaahahaaha the person who came up with this one should be sued

A3, a4, h3, h4, a7, a6, h7 or h6.

3 Barnes Opening

Ineffective and brainless opening which I can see why since it lays the foundation of fools mate. Even if it's not fools mate and using mindful defense, I wouldn't recommend to all beginners. All are better off without it.

4 Four Move Checkmate
5 Na3

Sodium attack (funny name if you know basic chemistry) is yet another unorthodox opening which I don't see full effect at all because it's riding along the edges.

6 1. a4 e5 2. Ra3

Again not controlling the center and you'll definitely be instantly losing if you do the same thing to the other side. Because not controlling center and it's impossible to castle in the early game.

7 Pork Chop
8 1. a3 e4 2. a4

Disregarding one crucial fundamental of chess and that is controlling the center.

9 1. e4 e5 2. Ke2??

Alapin opening seems really unorthodox and puts the knight at a very narrow position that is neither defense nor offense! But if one can pull it off, it may be ivanchuk or some other unorthodox chess genius.

10 1. White Resigns

Why would this happen? Black resigning on its first move would be annoying too!

Oh man this is rich how come this isn't number one

That just ruins the whole thing
