Top 10 Seattle SuperSonics / Oklahoma City Thunder Players of All Time
Best ever better than Jordan
Best Point Guard in Sonics history, Gary Payton has accomplished a lot in his 12 1/2 seasons with Seattle which include but not limited to:
9 All Star Appearances
2 All NBA 1st Team Appearances
5 All NBA 2nd Team Appearances
2 All NBA 3rd Team Appearances
9 All Defensive 1st Team Appearances
1996 League Leader in Steals which resulted in winning the 1996 NBA Defensive Player of the Year
It's too bad he couldn't lead Seattle to an NBA Finals victory in 96 because of the Chicago Bulls. Despite Shawn Kemp leaving Seattle in 1997, Sam Perkins released in 1998, Nate McMillan retiring in 1998 and George Karl being fired in 1998 after winning the 1998 Coach of the Year Award, Gary Payton remained a defensive threat until after the 2000-2001 season where he teamed up with Patrick Ewing, who actually played for Seattle that year for those who didn't know!
