Spadikam seemed to be a simple action-masala film at first, but it was not so. What makes the movie so special is that family relations, specifically the father-son relationship, are what the movie is actually about, all under the guise of an action movie.
And of course, powerful performances by Mohanlal and Thilakan. Who can forget all the wonderfully poignant father-son scenes in this movie?
