Best Beauty and the Beast Characters
Beauty and the Beast is a 1991 Disney film based on the French fairy tale of the same name. It is acclaimed as one of Disney's greatest, being the first animated film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. What 17-year-old would say, "Take me and let my dad go free" to a monster when that was all she knew at the time? (Paraphrased, of course.)
She can be stubborn and curious, but she's not whiny like certain characters who came before her. She saved her dad and then helped the Beast onto the castle at the end of the movie. She's also a little ADHD, reading her book while walking around. And she flat-out tells Gaston off. Just a great character.
Love her. She has always been my favorite! Who doesn't love a girl who falls in love with a beast?
Greatest princess ever! She is so beautiful, and I could listen to her voice all day.
He's very nice, welcoming, and very friendly!
I fell in love with the Beast when I was a little girl. He's one of my childhood heroes. His heart is pure gold.
I like his character development from narcissistic villain to noble hero.
I like Gaston, though I don't love him. He isn't even a villain. He's just your usual mean boy in school. There are actually more evil characters than Gaston. The Beast and the enchantress are more evil. Gaston isn't evil. He's just misunderstood.
Gaston is the most hilarious character. He should be number one. I just got his role in my play, and I am SUPER EXCITED.
No one fights like Gaston! (And in the 2017 movie, Gaston is played by Luke Evans, so it is really good!)
He has such an innocent and curious personality!
He is so cute. I got a role to play him in a play.
One of the best singing roles, plus you get to sing the title song.
His appearance really stood out to me. He was really enjoyable too.
He's a great character, but sometimes a bit wound up. Get it? Wound up.
Not only is Lefou a masterfully created character, but he is unique in his attitude and offers fresh comedic value that is irreplaceable. To not have Lefou at number one is almost criminal and ignores the value of the character.
While the Beast has an untamable anger, Belle is an unoriginal character trope, Gaston has a selfish demeanor, Lumiere possesses a dangerous charm, Cogsworth has a sour attitude, and Mrs. Potts has a boring set of dialogue, Lefou is original and flawless. Get your head out of the bushes, people, and let us stop denying the outright fact: Lefou is, without question, the greatest character to grace the eyes of the viewers.
Crazy ol' Maurice. That's what everyone said. It would be something if he laughed at them when they saw the Beast, then he'd be saying, Who's laughing now?
I played her this year in a local production. Best part ever, in my opinion.
She doesn't have many lines, but I enjoyed her scenes.
Aka Plumette. She looks pretty in human form in the live-action remake.
Philippe was more than just a horse. He was a sensible animal who obviously saw danger coming.
I love how the sight of his fire just simply caused everyone to run.
She is the best, but a bit misunderstood.
He may have been turned into a footstool, but he still behaves like a dog. Such a great pet to have.
Sultan, the footstool dog, is so underrated. He's so cute.
So you want me to throw her father into the asylum unless she agrees to marry you? Oh, that is despicable. Hehe. I LOVE IT. Classic.
