Top 10 Hardest Pokemon Battles in Pokemon Games

The Top Ten

1 Greevil (Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness)

Greevil is without a doubt, the hardest battle in Pokemon history. His entire team are shadow Pokemon. Good luck cause you're going to need it!

This guy deserves to be number 1! I really like this battle but it is without a doubt, the hardest battle in all of Pokemon!

That Shadow Pokemon Doe!

He is so very jerk and jerk boss when he is the hard boss easily!

2 Ghetsis (Pokemon Black/White) Ghetsis (Pokemon Black/White) Ghetsis Harmonia, or simply Ghetsis, is the main antagonist in Pokemon Black and White and the direct sequels, as well as the adoptive father of N, Concordia, and Athea.

I lost to him multiple times. I had to keep on training my Pokemon until I could come back to N's Castle to finally finish him off. - ModernSpongeBobSucks

3 Cynthia (Pokemon DPPt)

I agree, I had many tries to beat her and I failed. Luckily, I noticed that I defeated her Garchomp with TM that I still had and I used it for Empoleon, and that was "Ice Beam". I guess water types DO manage to let you win and progress the game. - ClassicGaminer

One word Garchomp

4 Professor Kukui (Pokemon Sun and Moon) Professor Kukui (Pokemon Sun and Moon) Professor Kukui is a fictional character introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon. He is a Pokémon Professor from the Alola region, as well as the founder of Alola's Pokémon League.

Honestly I had more trouble with Olivia (Elite Four Version) than Kukui, I think he is worthy of being the "Champion Boss" but honestly compared to all other champs maybe Iris is only weaker than her

Overall, I wouldn't say the battle against him is harder than Cynthia. For the most part. Aside from that one giant blob of green fat that you know you're gonna have so much fun taking down... - Zach808

Am I the only one who didn't have a hard time with Professor Kukui as everyone else did? - ModernSpongeBobSucks

His Snorlax is just plain MEAN. It took me hours to beat this champion, and about 100 000 worth of Hyper Potions since they got nerfed here. He deserves to be in the number 1 spot.

5 Evice (Pokemon Colosseum)
6 Anabel (Pokemon Emerald and Pokemon Sun and Moon)

Build a team just for this, or spam healing items as hell. And oh yeah, save before you fight her.

7 Eldes (Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness)

Similar to Greevil, he has shadow Pokemon with low catch rates. But instead of 7, he only has 4. But it was still a pain in the neck to deal with. - marshadow

8 Lusamine (Pokemon Sun and Moon) Lusamine (Pokemon Sun and Moon) Lusamine is a fictional character introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon. She is the head of the Aether Foundation.

God, her Mother Beast form is overpowered! I wasn't able to take down that Clefable until that thing used Metronome and it got the move Self-Destruct to use on itself! But it was kind of funny when that Self-Destruct missed my Alolan Raichu that I was battling with due to the bonds that I have had with it as a Trainer. - ModernSpongeBobSucks

This is an awesome boss fight, perfect mix of hard and fun. The Clefable was pretty annoying but seriously, I wish I could refight her.

That Clefable though... I get mad just thinking about it.

I'm gonna use a Clefable that has the same moveset as Lusamine's against my brother just to piss him off. He'll hate me for it but it'll be worth it

Also, Cosmic Power is officially my least favorite move. And did I mention my luck is bad? So when it used Metronome, you can imagine how well I took it. - Absolite

Honest, I only lost one pokemon to her in the final battle.

Ironically. Guzma's very Masquerain gave me an insane amount of trouble LOLOL! - HeavyDonkeyKong

9 Ardos (Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness)

That Shadow Snorlax you had to catch. That thing was one of the most frustrating captures I've ever done. - marshadow

10 Trainer Red (Pokemon GSC/HGSS/Sun and Moon)

I was in the lower seventies but still managed. His sets were terrible. I would have curbstonped hi. Had it not been for the level difference to be honest. I only barely won though because of the level difference though in my opinion. - HeavyDonkeyKong

The level curve in G/S/C just doesn't prepare you for Red. Everything in Kanto is badly underleveled, but Red is in the high 70s and low 80s. The first time I reached him in Crystal, my team was in the high 40s. You can guess how well that battle went. - Zach808

The Newcomers

? Flannery (Pokemon Emerald)
? Juan (Pokemon Emerald)

His Kingdra is even worse than Clair's!

The Contenders

11 Lucian (Pokemon DDPt)

Hardest E4 member to ever exist in my opinion. Period in my opinion. - HeavyDonkeyKong

12 Hapu (Pokemon Sun and Moon)

She was it took me 14 times to defeat her because of her hard flygon super hard mudsale

13 Jaun (Pokemon Emerald)
14 Clair (Pokemon GSC and HGSS) Clair (Pokemon GSC and HGSS)

You want to hear my hatred for this battle in one single word? "Kingdra". - HeavyDonkeyKong

Harder than Whitney!

15 Steven (Pokemon RSE)

Steven wasn't too difficult in ORAS, but he was a lot more challenging in the originals. - marshadow

I did find difficulty with him in ORAS to be honest. But in emerald he was insanely hard though lolol. Never played the original Ruby and sapphire though lolol. - HeavyDonkeyKong

16 Totem Mimikyu (Pokemon Sun and Moon)

Aside from Mimikyu being hard to take down, I find it hilarious that people used their Z-move on the first turn to try and one shot it just to realize that Mimikyu has the disguise ability. - Rue

Sadly, I was dumb enough to use my Z move on the first turn, still beat it first try though. Seriously? How is this even hard?

17 Kecleon (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon) Kecleon (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon)

This thing -- is almost invincible to any of my Pokemon. Just screw Kecleon. Can't they just make so that if you have no money, and try to take an item from Kecleon shops, he gives to you for free? Then again, this thing is simply one word: UNFAIR!

Pokemon's version of the fight with Sans the Skeleton. Get Dunked On! - SocialMediaStinks

18 Totem Marowak (Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon)
19 Lenora (Pokemon Black and White)

Lenora's Watchhog has retaliate. Which is a move that greatly powers up when you KO a Pokemon before the Pokemon that uses the move. She could sweep your whole team. - marshadow

That Slaking. Oh my gosh that Slaking. - HeavyDonkeyKong
