Most Overrated Muse Songs
For most people, it, along with Hysteria are the only Muse songs from Absolution they know or like. It's still an awesome song, but I get fed up with it distracting people from Stockholm Syndrome, Sing for Absolution etc.
The 2nd Law is a terrible, terrible, terrible album, and its lead single isn't much better. While I appreciate that its become a live staple for Muse, it's an extremely repetitive, boring and lazy song that in line with the rest of the album is a failed attempt at pop. Pop isn't their strong suit, but they have pulled off some incredible entries in the genre over the years, like Resistance and Undisclosed Desires. This song isn't even in the same class as those masterpieces. While those songs were incredibly complex in musicianship and had strong lyrics, Madness is utterly routine in the former aspect and in the latter aspect... let's not even go there ("Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma mad mad mad" - This band is better than such lazy and simplistic songwriting). Overall, it's an awful song which ends up on Muse’s worst album. Go figure.
The lyrics suck.
Not the best off the album, not the best from the band, not the best Alternative song of all time. Its too repetitive and stretched out too. There are plenty of better Alternative songs, and songs from Muse themselves.

Overrated? OVERRATED?! How in any way? This is my favorite (or second favorite) Muse song! It is far better than Hysteria. It has an amazing story with it, an amazing intro when it comes to live performances, and an amazing music video!
Overshadows everything on Showbiz.
This gets the praise it deserves.
