SpongeBob SquarePants is the beloved animated series that has captured the hearts and minds of children and adults alike. With its colorful cast of characters and zany sense of humor, SpongeBob has become a cultural phenomenon, spawning everything from memes to theme park attractions.
But let's be real. The show wouldn't be nearly as funny without its hilarious cast of characters. From the lovable dimwit SpongeBob to the surly squid Squidward, each character brings their own unique brand of humor to the table.
And in this list, let's take a closer look at the funniest characters in the SpongeBob universe. Whether they're delivering a perfectly timed one-liner or getting into wacky hijinks, these characters are guaranteed to make you laugh.
So who made the cut? Well, there's the perpetually confused Patrick Star, who always manages to put his foot in his mouth. He's funny. In the episode Porous Pocket, he wanted to lift the clam, then BAM! His body was in a new position. Haha! Another instance is in Chocolate With Nuts, when a crazy customer wanted to buy all SpongeBob and Patrick's chocolate. His pants blew off, and many chocolates fell down like Hershey's Kisses. Very funny.
For me, Patrick is the funniest.
Patrick is epic. They should call the show "Patrick Star," not "SpongeBob SquarePants." That show would be awesome, but I guess the theme song would be pretty corny.

Squidward is the best SpongeBob character ever (next to Plankton)! They share a lot in common. They usually get really annoyed. They don't deserve the torture they get! Patrick, on the other hand (yes, I'm mentioning him), is a total prick and a jerk. S and P are definitely the best SpongeBob characters.
Ahh, Squidward is so funny in the classic episodes. My cousin and I laugh whenever he screams. It's hilarious! His nose also looks funny, like a guy's middle. If you're a girl and don't know what it looks like, look at Squidward's nose! He has some funny quotes like, "Does this look unsure to you?" and then his unsure face appears.

I found him funny in the Can You Spare a Dime? episode.
Squidward: No, I did not steal your dime!
Mr. Krabs: Well, it's either A: You stole my dime, B: You stole my dime, or C: You have lost my dime!
I laughed so hard in the Clams episode when he was rubbing money on himself, even in his you-know-what middle! That's the only episode I found him funny in.
-
Sheldon J Plankton
He and Squidward are the funniest. It was hilarious when he roasted the whole family, as well as in pretty much every other episode he appears in. I hate him in Teacher's Pests, but otherwise, he's great.
He and Squidward are misunderstood. He's epic, and he deserves at least part of the Krabby Patty formula. He helped create it!
