Worst Things About the New Toy Story LandI haven’t been to the new Toy Story Land, but I read many bad things about it.
Here’s a list of reasons why I think Toy Story Land is horrible.
Toy Story Land was supposed to be a fun place for all, but it has its own issues, and this is the biggest one.
The land is almost entirely shadeless, and it leaves everyone there hot, sweaty, dehydrated, and even sunburnt.
And the worst of those happened when the Land first opened, where guests had to wait 4 hours JUST to step into the land, and then entered long lines for the rides.
The umbrellas were a rushed attempt to cool down the guests waiting in line to enter the land as well as in the line for the main ride.
The lines for the rides reached hours, with the Slinky Dog Dash line reaching nearly 7 Hours, starting from the Chinese Theater 1/2 miles all the way to the ride.
Much of the queue for the ride were entirely shadeless and had very little air conditioning to cool the guests down.
Everyone there was burning up after getting into the land and continued to burn up while waiting nearly 7 hours to ride Slinky Dog Dash.
Yet the ground was ...more
The lines for the attractions are sometimes long, often so, and even when they're shadeless, people still wait to go on the rides.
The waits were at their longest when they 1st opened, with Slinky Dog Dash being the longest, at 7+ hours, while the Alien Swirling Saucers had lines over 2 hours long.
Yet lines for the attractions today can still be up to 2 or 3 hours for Slinky Dog Dash and 1 hour for Alien Swirling Saucers, though the line for the new Toy Story Mania is usually only 30 minutes long.
And the TSM line is almost entirely indoors, leaving everyone shaded and protected from the sun as well as rain.
Though the rides are all short, while Toy Story Mania is the longest ride.
When Disney though of the idea of Toy Story Land, they thought of making the land fun and immersive.
But they cut the budget down and made the land small, rushed and even shadeless.
What were they thinking? when they make lands and rides, safety and comfort are always the top priorities, but they didn't do so well with this, leaving everyone burning and dehydrated.
Kids and families shouldn't go through this.
Disney thought of making the land big, immersive and fun, but the low budget cut meant they made the land rather small, and yet there's not much stuff to go to or ride, yet the food is in limited supply, and there's almost no shade.
Toy Story Land looks fun for some people, and entertaining when watching the green army soldiers marching around and hitting the drums.
But they're doing it outside in the heat with no shade, and it goes on.
They must be severely sunburnt as well as dehydrated, yet not to mention that the green body paint they're wearing all over their clothes and skin must be clogging their sweat pores and giving them severe heat rashes and itchy, irritated skin, and worse, heatstroke, yet they suffer though.
When you think about Disney, you know safety is the top priority, but when you see the green army men, you think of how they do their job and how it must involve being out in the scorching heat and getting too much UV exposure, which increases the rate of skin cancer.
So they're most likely gonna get skin cancer really soon.
What a way to rethink Disney.
People get hungry and go to Woody's Lunchbox to order food, but there's very limited types of food to order there, and many of the foods you like might not be in this, so many people suffer, and not to mention the fact the umbrellas and tables are small and many people who want their table get into the same of other people's.
I saw on photos the bathrooms look nice and colorful, yet fit with the theme, but the urinals and toilets are very small, as if geared to kids 38" tall(the same height requirement for Slinky Dog Dash).
Disney needs to make toilets suitable for tweens, teens and adults too.
Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers and Toy Story Mania are fun and interesting, but they're boring for the most part and short too, especially considering the long lines to get to them.
For example, when Toy Story Land first opened in June 30th, people waited nearly 7 hours to ride Slinky Dog Dash and over 2 hours to ride Alien Swirling Saucers, though up to 65 minutes to ride Toy Story Mania.
Though Slinky Dog Dash is a bit fun, though may be too scary for those afraid of heights and Toy Story Mania is immersive.
Yet not to mention all of the rides there aren't suitable for those prone to vertigo or motion sickness.
Toy Story Land was supposed to be immersive, and it kind of is, but the low budget cuts made it lose some, and people who go there can even see Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge from there.
Though one person thought of an imaginative idea about it being a Star Wars playset.
Slinky Dog Dash is a roller coaster, and to ride one, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated, and expectant mothers should not ride.
Alien Swirling Saucers is a ride that spins and whips you, so it's not a good idea for those prone to motion sickness.
Toy Story Mania is another ride that includes uncontrollable spinning, so guests prone to motion sickness should not ride.
If you have any problems like motion sickness, this isn't the place for you.
I used to have motion sickness, not anymore. But I definitely couldn't have gone on any of these rides back when it opened.
The only attractions there are Slinky Sog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers and Toy Story Mania.
People want many things to be satisfied.
Though that might seem to be positive considering the long and nearly deadly lines that took place when the land opened.
Toy Story Land is neat, but one of the biggest issues is that it's often crowded, that the rides have wait times up to 1 or 2 hours at most,
Though when it first opened, it was so extremely crowded that guests waited 4 hours to enter the land, 2+ hours to ride Alien Swirling Saucers, while the main line, to Slinky Dog Dash, had a wait time of 7+ HOURS!
The lines are an even worse experience when out in the shadeless heat.
The hype was out of control when it opened, and it's still hyped even though it's nearly shadeless.
When people go to Toy Story Land, many people want to touch and push the Luxo ball, but did you know you can't actually roll it.
I see that Disney wants to keep the ball in 1 place, but many people think they would have fun rolling it.
At least Disney could've built a fence around the land the keep the ball from rolling outside of it.
You may have been hot before at a lot of places, but have you been to this?
I read people there are sweating like crazy.
They must be dehydrated like heck.
This also involves the character actors and army men.
Yet people there are sunburnt as well.
Yet it's so hot some people get heat exhaustion and pass out, which many did especially on opening day.
This seems like the hottest you'll feel in America after the California Wildfires of 2018.
A Disney park or attraction should open with awesome ceremonies, celebrations, theming and perfect execution.
But that's not the case with this.
When Toy Story Land opened on June 30th, 2018, fans woke up early in the morning and formed huge crowds, and then waited 4 hours to get to the land, and it was in the hot shadeless and humid Florida heat and sun and another line formed the other direction, to Slinky Dog Dash, which had a wait time of nearly 7 hours, mostly in the heat, and the line stretched half a mile adjacent from the Chinese Theater at the center of Hollywood Studios toward to ride, so everyone who tried their luck was being roasted and burnt to a crisp.
The cast members were setting up a line of umbrellas to protect them and keep them cool, but they could've done much better with the land in the 1st place, and the air circulation at the queue of Slinky Dog Dash was not enough to protect the sunbaked victims.
Many passed out from heatstroke and ...more
For example: Slinky Dog Dash is 2 minutes, while Alien Swirling Saucers is also 2 minutes.
Though the longest ride there, Toy Story Mania, is 5 to 6 minutes long.
If you're looking for ride there that's even remotely long enough to satisfy you, then go to TSM.
