Top Ten Most Famous Australian Cities
The thing is, Melbourne is the only city in Australia (other than Adelaide and Canberra) that actually has culture. Everywhere else is tacky.
Let's be honest - if Sydney didn't have its Opera House, Melbourne would be one of the most famous cities in the world.
Australia's most successful city, in fact, the Southern Hemisphere's.
Sydney has beautiful beaches, while Melbourne mostly has bays and cold, unpleasant beaches. Sydney has the Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Sydney Tower, Blue Mountains, Manly Ferry, and Darling Harbour. Melbourne has none of those. Sydney should be #1.
I think it's mainly popular for the Sydney Opera House.
Yup, it is the most popular city in Australia.
Canberra is the capital of Australia, but some people think it's Sydney because it's better known worldwide.
Good climate - hot in summer, cold in winter. Great interactive museums and places like that. Love it.
Best one to visit because there are heaps of rides to go on at theme parks.
Best city in Australia.
It's spelled Newcastle.*
The Newcomers
It's actually a good city in NSW. I went there for holiday from 2019 to 2021 because I was there for New Year.
"The gateway to the Great Barrier Reef." Honestly, it's a beautiful place to live. Cairns is very diverse. Some people think we are racist, but the truth is far from that. Cairns is paradise to me.
I don't know why it's not on here sooner.
The Blue Lake is the best.
Beautiful city.
