Manchester City, coming off a historically dominant season, has continued to dominate the Premier League, aiming for a fourth straight Premier League win. They have also started off strong in the Champions League, sweeping their group in the group stage. They are currently still alive in the FA Cup and look to be on a good pace to win that as well. Guardiola has Manchester City in a good place, with the potential to make a splash in world football again this year.

2 Real Madrid Real Madrid Club de Fútbol, commonly known as Real Madrid, or simply as Real, is a professional football club based in Madrid, Spain.

Real Madrid, another perennial power in world football, has dominated Spanish and world football so far this season. They raced out to a sweep in their Champions League group in the group stage. After losing La Liga to Barcelona last season, they are back at the top, outperforming all of their Spanish opponents to this point in the season. Ancelotti and Real Madrid have a real shot to win the Champions League and La Liga this season.

3 Liverpool Liverpool Football Club is a Premier League association football club. It is based in Liverpool, Merseyside, England.

Liverpool, in the last season with Jurgen Klopp as manager, looks to end his tenure on a high note. They currently sit in first place in the Premier League with a fantastic start to the season under their belt. Having won the EFL Cup already this season, they finished first in their Europa League group stage and moved on to the round of 16. Liverpool hopes to win the Europa League title to finish the season off.

4 Bayer Leverkusen Bayer 04 Leverkusen, commonly referred to as Bayer Leverkusen, is a professional football club based in Leverkusen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The club currently competes in the Bundesliga, the highest level of German football, and plays their home matches in the BayArena.

Leverkusen has raced out to a shocking start this season, with no losses through their first 22 games in Bundesliga play. They are outperforming perennial Bundesliga leaders Bayern in almost every facet of the game. They also finished first in their Europa League group and seem to have a serious shot at a Europa League title. In all, Leverkusen has outperformed expectations across the board, cementing themselves as a world-class team.

5 Inter Milan

Inter Milan has been the best team in Italy by far this season, currently sitting atop the Serie A standings, a great distance away from the next closest team. After losing in the Champions League final to Man City last season, they have drastically improved. They moved on from the Champions League group stage to the round of 16, where they hope to capitalize on the hot run of form they have been on.

6 Arsenal Arsenal Football Club is a professional football club based in Islington, London, England, that plays in the Premier League, the top flight of English football.

Arsenal has had a fantastic season so far, gaining multiple wins over successful Premier League opponents. They currently sit in third place in a stacked English Premier League, only below Man City and Liverpool at this point in the campaign. In the Champions League group stage, they finished first in their group and are currently sitting in the round of 16, looking to move forward.

7 Paris Saint Germain Paris Saint-Germain Football Club, commonly known as Paris Saint-Germain, Paris SG, or simply PSG, is a French professional football club based in the city of Paris. Founded in 1970, the club has traditionally worn red-and-blue kits.

PSG has been far and away the best French team this season so far, leading the rest of Ligue 1 from a great distance atop the standings. In cup competition, they remain alive in the Coupe de France, sitting in the quarterfinals and hoping to win another domestic cup. In the Champions League, they are in the round of 16 with the advantage, hoping to finally win their first Champions League title.

8 FC Bayern Munich Football-Club Bayern München e.V., commonly known as FC Bayern München, FCB, Bayern Munich, or FC Bayern, is a German sports club based in Munich, Bavaria. They currently compete in the Bundesliga, the top flight division in German football.

Although Bayern has had an off-season as Bayern seasons go, currently sitting in 2nd place in the Bundesliga, they have still had a relatively successful season thus far. They currently sit in the round of 16 and, despite the fact that they do not currently have the advantage, it is likely that Bayern will pick it up. One of the biggest questions is, can they still win the Champions League with all of the turmoil within the club?

9 Girona FC

Girona FC has had an incredibly meteoric rise in the La Liga standings this season, rocketing up the standings all the way to number one, currently sitting at second only behind Real Madrid. Their rise to the top this season has been eye-opening, to say the least. If they can maintain this spectacular run of form, they will surely be present in European football next season.

10 Atletico Madrid Club Atlético de Madrid, SAD, commonly known as Atlético Madrid, or simply as Atlético or Atleti, is a Spanish professional football club based in Madrid, that plays in La Liga. The club play their home games at the Wanda Metropolitano, which has a capacity of 68,000.

Atletico Madrid has had a fairly successful season thus far. They currently sit in fourth place in La Liga, but made their way through the Champions League group stage to reach the round of 16. They are currently playing in good form and look to obtain another Champions League trophy.
