The Top Ten
1 Blockbuster

There's only one location left (Bend, Oregon) and if that's gone, there are no more Blockbuster stores left.
Blockbuster has been the place to buy VCR and VHS tapes and many nowadays are glued to phones and streaming services.

2 Babies R Us

There is only one location left as all other locations closed in 2017 after Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy in 2017 and 2018 once people got glued to electronics and once online shopping became more popular.

3 Bebe

There were 312 locations in its entire history and now there's only one after they were liquidated in 2017 in the wake of a 2014 Telephone Consumer Protection Act class action lawsuit filed against Bebe Stores, Inc.
The remaining location is the new lifestyle concept store in New York City, New York (which opened on March 2018)

4 KMart

Kmart filed for bankruptcy in 2002, and again in 2018 after sales hit lows of $5.8 billion in fiscal 2018.

5 American Girl Place

With sales declining from the 2010's to this day, numerous places have closed, though the COVID-19 lockdowns had the biggest impact.
The decline of the brand technically started some point after the original Pleasant Company sold it to Mattel, but the decline of the AG locations all started with a labor dispute with the AEA (actors equity association) at the AG place's musical revue in New York City, putting 14 out of 18 actors on strike.
A contract went into effect until April 1, 2008, leading to the extinction of the AG theaters on September 2008.
Then, with the BeForever rebrand, sales declined even further.
Yet the magazines fell out of production since COVID-19 restrictions kicked in, which also led to the end of the annual benefit sales.
Plus, one activist pressured Mattel to sell off the brand, though they're relocating the headquarters to their state (California) by Spring 2024.
There were over twice as many locations back then, and now, there are only 8 remaining.
