Top 10 Best AC Milan Players of All Time

Who are the best AC Milan players, you ask? Well, there are as many answers as there are fans. With over a century's worth of players to choose from, it's a pretty tough question.

Are you a fan of the classic defensive stalwarts, like Franco Baresi or Paolo Maldini, who stood like unyielding pillars at the back? Or do you lean more towards the creative geniuses like Andrea Pirlo, whose pinpoint passes could unlock even the most stubborn of defenses? Maybe you're captivated by the strikers, the ones who lit up the pitch with their goal-scoring prowess, like Andriy Shevchenko or Marco van Basten.

AC Milan has been home to many footballing giants, including international icons like Ronaldinho, Kaka, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Each brought their own flair, talent, and unforgettable moments to the team. And then, of course, there are those who started their career at the club and went on to become global stars.

With so many players making significant contributions to the club, the process of ranking them might seem like an impossible task. But that's the beauty of football. It's about opinions, discussions, and sharing the passion for your favorite team.

As you make your picks, think about each player's impact on the team, their individual brilliance, and their dedication to the Rossoneri shirt. Keep in mind the context of their era, their role in trophy-laden seasons, and their iconic performances in defining matches.
The Top Ten
Kaka Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, commonly known as Kaká or Ricardo Kaká, is a retired Brazilian professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder for Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer and the Brazil national team .

Kaka is a legend. If people loved midfielders as much as forwards, they would not find any substitute for Kaka. Ronaldo and Messi are great players, but they often benefit from the support of midfielders. In Kaka's case, he needed to score, make through passes, provide pinpoint passes, and often defend as well.

Kaka is one of the best players in football history, and he is a legend. When AC Milan sold him to Real Madrid, it was a big mistake!

The best footballer I've ever seen, in the same mold as Messi and Ronaldo. Dangerous and skillful, even now he's still a threat.

Paolo Maldini

Maldini is the icon of AC Milan. He played for 25 seasons, won 5 Champions League titles (2 as captain), and 7 Serie A titles. He holds the record for the most appearances in Serie A. He was named in the UEFA Team of the Year at the age of 38 and captained Milan for almost 12 years. He also finished third in the Ballon d'Or voting twice and is widely regarded as the best defender of all time.

If this doesn't make him the best player of Milan (and one of the best players of all time), then I don't know what does.

This is hard to say as Kaka is my favorite player of all time, but Maldini was a leader for the Rossoneri for years. The Maldini name itself has been in the club for years, and when Paolo Maldini left, he left a hole in the team's leadership.

Alexandre Pato

Pato is an excellent player with great skill and goal-scoring ability. He is very young and active.

Young, active, fast, loyal. The Duck is here to shake things up, man.

Andrea Pirlo

The most important player for AC Milan while he was there. He is my favorite AC Milan player ever. His precision with the ball is amazing, and he was the mastermind behind Milan's recent success.

Pirlo is the best at free kicks.

Filippo Inzaghi
Andriy Shevchenko Andriy Mykolayovych Shevchenko is a Ukrainian retired footballer who played for Dynamo Kyiv, Milan, Chelsea, as well as the Ukrainian national team as a striker.

Absolute legend, one of the most prolific goal scorers and well-rounded players in the history of the club. It's a joke that players like Gilardino are ranked above him here.

What in God's name are people doing voting for the likes of Pato? Sheva was the greatest striker to play for us. Even Ibra couldn't compare to what Sheva achieved.

Andriy Shevchenko is the best player in AC Milan's history! AC Milan made a mistake when it sold him to FC Chelsea!

Clarence Seedorf

It pains me not to put Maldini, but the only player in the world to win four European Cups with three different teams? I have to say Seedorf.

Not highly rated in the Clockwork Orange national team. But a very stable and beautiful player to see in Milan.

Alessandro Nesta

He has been my childhood hero, along with Maldini. I love Maldini, but I think Nesta is too underrated!

Marco van Basten Marcel "Marco" van Basten is a Dutch football manager and former football player, who played for Ajax and Milan, as well as the Netherlands national team, in the 1980s and early '90s as a forward.

Prolific goal scorer. Unfortunately, his career was cut short.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Zlatan Ibrahimović (3 October 1981) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays for an Italian club AC Milan and the Sweden national team for which he is captain.

Extremely important for the team. He can change the game on his own, fantastic at providing assists, and a strong striker.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a very powerful player.

He is one of the best players in the world and he can make a great teammate with Kevin-Prince Boateng and El Shaarawy.

I think Ronaldinho, aka Don't Mess With Me, should be considered the best because he is a legend. He assisted Messi in his first goal and was outstanding. His effort to improve the teams he played for, like Barcelona and Milan, is remarkable. In my opinion, he is the best of all time and my idol.

Alberto Gilardino
Franco Baresi
Ruud Gullit Ruud Gullit is a Dutch football manager and former footballer who played professionally in the 1980s and 1990s as a midfielder or forward.

George Weah

The only player to ever win the African, European, and World Footballer of the Year awards all in a single year (1995) must be a great talent. He had dazzling skills, scored magnificent goals, and was an incredible talent. Weah is one of the best ever to wear the AC Milan jersey!
