Top Ten Reasons Why South Park is Bad
Obviously, people don't care, but they need to do things in good taste. Of course, South Park doesn't always do that.
To be honest, the show "South Park" mocks everyone and everything. They're meant to offend everybody... But, if you don't like the show, I respect your opinion.
This is absolutely offensive to Jesus himself. Incredibly racist.
In the episode Stanley's Cup, the ending shows it all. Worst episode with a horrible ending.
The show is meant to be offensive, and it looks like they nailed that part.
Personal opinion: I do not like most disturbing media. Though, occasional disturbing moments are fine. Having disturbing moments constantly in a show becomes boring and predictable. It ruins the value of being shocked by something.
Doesn't mean adult cartoons need disturbing moments to make it funny.
At least Family Guy cuts out all the gore and sex scenes.
Can someone tell me why their goal was to make a show that can offend everyone in every possible way? Just asking.
People who don't like it are not hypersensitive. We just think it's stupid, and most American comedy is.
I know South Park is SUPPOSED to offend everybody, but Cartman seems to be the main tool for that more than any other character, thus getting the most glory, good character or evil.
What if all the main characters had an equal share in that? Then how popular would Cartman be?
He's funny, sure, but he really is kind of evil. He fed a bully chili with his own parents' body parts in it, he dressed up as Hitler of all people, and much worse.
Literally the most awkward character I've seen in my life.
Wow, I hated Modern Simpsons, but I am willing to pull South Park a well-deserved rear end. It's constantly overly dark and tackling subjects like racism, sexism, homophobia, and attempted child murder, which no one would think of laughing at. And when it's not doing that, it's being boring or even mean. Their jabs at Family Guy may be tolerable if they didn't extend the mocking to the actual staff. I'm sorry, but that's lame. There are tons of people who work on Family Guy who are just trying to feed their family or themselves and who work their absolute hardest and have so much passion for the show, and they're just given the middle finger.
Even if they extended it to make fun of Seth MacFarlane, it would feel like friendly banter, but no, it just feels incredibly mean. If I worked on the show, I would be annoyed and personally insulted that the show is making fun of me just because they think it's plagiarism of a way more successful show at the time and it has annoying cutaways. The Rob Reiner jab didn't feel like banter either. It felt flat-out mean. They were ironically trying to take a Family Guy approach, I think, but they completely misunderstood the show's banter.
The characters are unlikeable, and it's not like Family Guy where it adds to the humour, seeing as South Park is often emotional or overly dark and serious. It has the children constantly doing mean things to each other and then tries to make me sympathise with them, but no, I don't. The characters in Family Guy at least have their moments, but South Park has characters who are unlikeable all the time. Even in their golden days (aka Season 1), their characters were still unlikeable.
But I should've deleted all I said because it makes the show sound at least interesting, but it's not even that. There were numerous episodes where I was constantly checking the time, and it felt like the story kept going on and on. And the unfunny humour didn't help. So, for having unlikeable... more
Why would anyone even DARE call the first few seasons of Family Guy garbage?! You Family Guy haters are forgetting that there actually was MORE to the first few seasons of Family Guy than just the random pop culture references and cutaway gags!
It's really just plain annoying and this is coming from a HUGE Family Guy viewer who is used to offensive content. South Park voices and character voices are painful.
I'm still pissed that Family Guy hasn't said anything back. I'd like to see Peter murder Cartman.
At first, when I watched it when it came on television in the 90s in the UK, I probably thought, a cartoon about little boys, then the swearing... who could make a show like this? Nutters, no offense okay.
Occasional swearing is fine, but constant swearing becomes repetitive and boring.
Really, Mr. Hankey was one of the stupidest songs of the '90s.
A problem with lots of other shows, but after a while, sexual humor is not funny anymore. Especially when it is constantly used.
The newest episode was seriously messed up.
Try the "I was just joking" defense when you've just been sexist to your boss. See how long you last in employment. It doesn't fly in the real world.
Neither is the "it's just South Park, dude" defense cutting it anymore as it's been overused and gets said every time someone tries to criticize SP. SP gets too much of a pass, but it's running weak.
I hate South Park! It's the worst animated show ever! Number one, it's an adult cartoon. Number two, it has rude and inappropriate scenes which are disturbing. And number three, it has too much swearing in it.
I would never watch inappropriate programs like that! I would rather watch SpongeBob SquarePants as the scenes are not too dirty. Screw South Park. It sucks!
Swearing is fine, but swearing too much is obnoxious.
Well, Canada is still a hell of a lot better than the USA. Free healthcare, liberated the Netherlands in WW2, played an enormous role in WW1 with the Battle of Vimy, and legalized gay marriage before it was cool.
So, even if Canada is not the best, it's still better than the police state known as the USA. Oh, and at least our country has a real name and at least we did not steal the continent's name.
Yeah, I really hate how they make fun of Canada.
They had one of the most messed-up Christmas specials in cartoon history. Like, those animals creeped me out. Nature in South Park is messed up.
This may just be me, but I do not find this humor funny when used too often. I can consume offensive content as long as it's done once in a while, but this show does it far too often for my liking.
Other people may like it, fine with me, but at a certain point, "shock value humor" becomes boring when it's used constantly.
The one thing Family Guy can do that South Park can't is make me laugh.
The characters look like they were drawn by a child. That's why the show is childish and why the fans are immature.
Yeah, the animation is as good as Angela Anaconda. Imagine some weirdo rebooting that show.
Duh! A kindergartener could've made this.
Oh, please don't take the Lord's Name in vain.
Nowadays it's more of a '90s cartoon.
The same can be said about people who quote "The Office" or "Dragon Ball."
Sorry, back in the 90s when it first aired kids always watched it because the main characters are kids. I'm surprised a show based on just swearing and Kenny killed in every episode aired for more than one season.
Children should not watch this. It is a very bad show. It's not even funny.
