Top Ten Things Marijuana Can Help You WithDon't let the media fool you. Today, it's pretty much well known that cannabis is not a harmful drug, yet the DEA classifies it as a Schedule 1 drug. Although it may seem silly, smokin weed has many benefits for many different people. Let's take a look.
The Top Ten
Maybe you're getting "high" grades at college because your instructors are blasted, too. If you want a shining example of what weed will do to your brain over time, just look to Libertarian Party presidential candidate, Gary Johnson, who's 63 years old, and admits to regularly smoking weed his entire adult life. Or Tommy Chong, for that matter. Both are hopelessly lost in the ozone. Don't kid yourself. You may believe you're better focused and your mental performance is enhanced, but clear-minded people would not agree.
This one probably seems far-fetched to anyone on the outside looking in, but it's true. Read this and draw your own conclusion:
Millions of students across the world (including myself) suffer from either ADD or ADHD. The solution to this disorder for many is to prescribe drugs like Adderall, Ritalin, and other amphetamines. These drugs are in the same family as meth, and are considered "party drugs". I have been prescribed numerous different ADD medications throughout the years such as Adderall, Methylphenidate, and Dextroamphetamine (currently) and they can have a very negative effect on someone's life. Personally, these drugs do their job, making me more focused, etc. But there are lots of downsides. For 1, I've always had a significant loss of appetite, to the point where I have absolutely no desire to eat. 2nd, It completely affects your behavior. While under the effects, I am less talkative and sometimes emotionless. 3rd, it's easily abusable. In fact, in the 8th ...more
Marijuana does NOT make you stupid and lazy. If it does, then you were stupid and lazy before you smoked it.
I very much agree.
That's right. cancer. I'm not saying marijuana IS the cure for cancer, but it has been proven that cannabinoids (chemicals present in marijuana smoke) actually fight cancer cells. Contrary to the popular belief that smoking weed gives you lung cancer like cigarettes.
It lowers the risk of any cancer, even lung cancer. Cool right?
Marijuana can help lessen the pain and also help destroy cancer cells. I think it might be better than the doctors give you but don’t stop going to the doctor or don’t stop taking your medications.
Sometimes I'll find myself unable to fall asleep on a school night. I go outside, take a quick bong rip and I'm all relaxed and ready to fall asleep. Once again, it's better than being prescribed drugs like Ambien, and it is non-addictive.
Weed does not get rid of your problems, it helps you see through them. I do not suffer from anxiety myself, but many of my friends do and weed has made their lives innumerably better.
Marijuana is very helpful - especially when it comes to this. Many people use alcohol to dismiss their problems, which is much more harmful than marijuana. Marijuana allows people to calm down and temporarily relieve themselves from their daunting thoughts or problems.
I have seen how horrible alcohol is, yet I believe some people can use it responsibly, which is what is important.
It's all about how you use it. Marijuana, though, calms people down. It helps people and should be legal in all 50 states.
I've been smoking weed for 10 years now to battle my depression. It works great if you can keep yourself motivated when you're high. It'll make your depression worse if you just smoke and sit around doing nothing. The thing about being high, is it makes me feel like a kid with out a care in the world. I smoke and suddenly I don't care that I'm depressed.
I feel that I must say that weed is just like every other medication for depression. It's not a cure, but a mask. However, it's the only thing that has given me enough distance from the feeling of depression that I was able to function.
Seems like an oxymoron, but it's true. Stoners tend to be slimmer than non-users. That’s because cannabis helps the body regulate insulin production, manage caloric intake more efficiently, and regulates your metabolism. Unlike alcoholic drinks like beer which are linked to obesity.
As an alternative to OTC drugs like ibuprofen and advil. Those medications can take a toll on your liver, and leads to other complications. I'm not saying get stoned every time you have a headache, but smoking a small amount really does help.
Medical Marijuana is showing a lot of promise among people who suffer from epilepsy or other seizure disorders.
It's been shown to regulate and prevent diabetes thanks to its ability to regulate insulin production.
Kindly correct if in error, but, Bill Hicks was a comedian, not a musician. I've been a musician for more than fifty years. I don't use drugs, but I've played with many who did. They always believed they performed better while high. They could not have been more deluded. They had no sense of time, couldn't remember lyrics, and usually couldn't tune their instruments. There may be exceptions, but not in my experience.
To me, it doesn't help with the "performing" part, it helps with writing. Weed makes people more creative sometimes. Most bands write their music while high (Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Tool, The Beatles).
You see, I think drugs have done some good things for us. I really do. And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn 'em. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years... real high on drugs." -Bill Hicks
Cannabis therapy. People addicted to real drugs like heroin or coke are able to get off drugs thanks to weed, which is not physically addictive by the way.
Of course it gives you the munchies.
Weed is a lot better in treating nausea than many otc drugs or teas with chamomile, mint or ginger. I still recommend the other options though. Can't always smoke a joint.
