Top 10 Things that People Often Annoyingly Forget About Nintendo

Admit it, any Nintendo fans that happen to be reading this list; this stuff probably makes YOUR blood boil to absolutely no end as well
The Top Ten
1 Nintendo's target audience is all ages, NOT specifically children (unless you're talking about Kirby and the like)

Go ahead, religious Witcher/Skyrim fantards; call yourself "too old" for Breath Of The Wild with a straight face (THINK about it for a second and THEN do so)

2 Nintendo isn't the only company/developer capable of producing games with the company's level of creativity, memorability and/or quality

For example:

Many of the actual best games on Nintendo's systems are made by their third-party affiliates (most notably Castlevania and Classic Mega Man)
Axiom Verge was just about as good as Super Metroid

Cuphead is most definitely on par with Contra to say the least

Undertale actually WAS just as good as Earthbound and Chrono Trigger

Timesplitters (as a game) was pretty evenly matched with Metroid Prime

The Parappa/Lammy series came out basically a decade before Rhythm Heaven and Donkey Konga and (for its time in the first game's case) was easily better than both of them combined; believe me, that's not even MENTIONING Gitaroo Man

Even Sonic actually approaches Mario pretty closely at times

Luigi's Mansion was pretty okay but had Resident Evil to compete with

Breath Of The Wild is probably the best GAME ever made but completely pales story-wise when compared to Skyrim, Witcher 3 and Horizon Zero Dawn just to name a few

3 Their SNES-and-onward games (not counting gimmicky Mode 7 ones like the original Star Fox and Super Mario Kart) aesthetically have some of THE nicest-looking graphics of the entire medium, hands-down
4 AM2R copyright strike and Friend Codes notwithstanding, many of Nintendo's asinine business decisions are just that: a natural product of business obligations

Still doesn't really excuse them, but beggars can't be choosers

5 The reason they're having such a hard time bringing Star Fox, Metroid and F-Zero back is because those franchises sell so poorly (despite Metroid's main series rightfully ranking INCREDIBLY highly on Best Game Series lists)

Seriously, by all rights, Metroid most definitely SHOULD be one of the top 5 greatest-selling Nintendo franchises of all time

Even its PINBALL spinoff was amazing

6 They aren't evil, just completely out of touch with how the modern gaming industry is supposed to work

"Eh, you could still easily say the same thing about EA"

Well yeah, except that Nintendo doesn't have explicitly malicious intent behind the things it does (you CAN still play AM2R, you know)

7 Nintendo inspired all of the recent indie game classics that supposedly "rip off" their beloved franchises (which are actually mostly just paying TRIBUTE to them) to exist
8 Many of its "black sheep" game sequels were easily just as good as their predecessors (Metroid Prime 2, Return Of Samus, Majora's Mask, Mario Sunshine, Mario 2 USA, Smash Bros Brawl, Yoshi's Island, AM2R, etc)

The only one really debatable out of these is Yoshi's Island, which (while still amazingly good) is admittedly an incredibly cookie-cutter platformer with probably the single most annoying health system in video game history, but I digress

9 Nintendo was actually considerably more responsible for the Mario/Zelda CD-i games than you might have initially thought when seeing them

As they were the ones that proposed the CD-ROM add-on for the Super Nintendo and thus encouraged Philips to create the CD-i console itself

10 Nintendo totally could have made a game like Halo; it just had no real interest in doing so

And no; unless you're talking about the Prime Hunters series and Prime 2's god-awful multiplayer mode, Metroid doesn't count
