As I said, I was only guessing and my logic was that Italian is full with such words: piccolo, bella donna, Frank Bello, Giorgio Belladonna, etc.
This word sounds like an Italian word to me, maybe Germans "imported" it. This is just my impression (I don't know if the word is Italian or not).
